Today I play a few holes and do some indoor testing of the Lazrus L3R golf ball. I’ve reviewed lots of Lazrus equipment and now a golf ball! How will it perform? I hope you enjoy!

Hey guys, Mr. Shore hitter here. Look like a short hitter to me. The wind is howling today, but it’s not going to stop me from doing this golf ball review. Hopefully the audio doesn’t sound too bad. Today I’m going to review this Lazarus L3R golf ball and I’ll play a few holes with it and of course I’ll go inside and get some data. If you don’t care about the way I play with the golf ball, feel free to skip to that part. do have the wind helping. So, it shouldn’t be a problem getting over this pond here. If I hit a good one, should be able to get to that fairway. Little left. That ball did feel pretty firm off of the club there. We’re in this heavy rough here. Can’t really do much with it. I can get to the ball, it looks like, though. So 110 with the elevation. Everything’s getting firm. So if we can hit a pitching wedge up there and keep it from going left out of this heavy rough, that would be pretty good. Did feel a little firm back there off the tea. But I’m guessing this is a high compression ball and maybe it’s built for distance. We’ll see. Okay, we kept it from going left somewhere on the right side. So, we did not short side oursself. That’s good. This grass is pretty dry here. If it wasn’t for this little ups slope, I might actually putt it. But, we got plenty of green to work with. So, little wedge. Let it run down to the hole. Can definitely hear that little louder sound on that. That ball didn’t roll out that much, though. All right. Green’s a little softer than I thought, but that ball did not roll out very much. So, it’ be interesting. Will we get some some spin? We’re on the greens with this ball. Little downhill, a little right to left. Not rolling. So now we’re going back into that same wind. Pins in the front. So only 368 to the pin. But it’s 93 with the slope to the beginning of the fairway. So it will take a good drive to get to the fairway from here. Should be able to carry the creek. Only about 175 with the slope to carry the creek. So that shouldn’t be a problem. But the fairway is definitely going to be a problem. Oh boy, that was a little cuddy one there. It did carry the creek though, so that’s good. Did not get to the fairway. All right, guys. 188 into the wind. So, just going to take all I have. I’m going to hit this mini driver and see what we can do. It’s good. I can hit it, but I went got up there pretty high, so that’s definitely going to be short. All right, guys. Well, that went pretty good considering how windy it is. So, I’m just going to putt this and give it quite a bit of extra at the slow green and going through the fairway. Wouldn’t be surprised if I hit this five or six feet past the hole. Still short. 386. Wind is definitely helping here. And moving a little right to left. I’ll be on the right and just some trees on the left. All right, that ball actually flew a little bit lower than I would think from the way I hit it, but it really shot off the club face. See how far it went. Wind or no wind? Definitely downwind. I thought it was down and right to left. Now it’s almost blowing left to right. It probably was pretty much close to straight down wind. I have not been this far on this hole ever. Now it is getting firm out, but I don’t remember I don’t remember ever hitting it this far on this hole. And I’ve played this hole hundreds of times, so I can’t call it. But I don’t even know what to say. But I’ve got 111 yards to this flag and I am never inside of 140. I’m wondering like in these conditions would Rafe drive this green 386 if I hit it here. He’s normally about 100 yards past me with his driver. But in any event, we’ve got 111 yards and I’ll hit a 50 degree because it is downwind and firm. I can normally carry this 50 degree 95 yards. So worst case scenario, even if it knocks it out of the sky, that’s 48 feet short of the flag with a bounce. We’ve got a 30footer. Oh, took a bounce. I almost thought it was long, but it’s actually pin high. So, this ball pretty good. It flew just short. Took a big hop here and about where I would anticipate it being. Couple yards past the flag stick. This is a left to right breaking down the hill. So, we have to be gentle even with the slower greens today. Stay up. Directly downwind. 337 to the flag stick. Not good as the last one. Left. We’ll see if it missed the trees there. So guys, everything kind of slopes to the right here. So we caught a good little bounce. carried those trees and rolled a little bit down this slope. Thing is so firm, it’s hard to say how far anything’s carrying, but it was 337 back there. We’ve got 88 yards, so 249 with all the run out and the wind and everything else. So 88 yds back pin. So I’ll go 54 here. Really just trying to land something 30 ft short now and take our chances. That might be it. That could be pretty good. Directly downwind. Ball landed here. Rolled out to here. So 26 ft. And I was kind of anticipating any roll out 30 ft or so would be pretty good. So, say that’s pretty good. I’m going to anticipate this ball being a pretty uh pretty high spinning ball with especially with the short short irons. So, some of those drives, it may actually be a pretty good spinning ball with the drives. It may be a low spinning ball with the drives, which is what I would want. So, see if we can make a putt. So, this one’s going to be downhill. Should be a little left to right. They’re slow today, so not as scary as this putt would normally be. Pretty good alignment, too, on here, too. Solid black little bar. Be able to see that pretty well. We hit it. Oh, just short. So, I actually have a sleeve of each color of these Lazarus balls. And after playing a few holes with the yellow mat, it wasn’t really much in the way of scuffs or anything like that. So, I’m imagining this ball would be a pretty durable golf ball. Like that ball wanted to spin. Again, I think this is going to be a little higher spinning ball with the with the wedges and the short irons at least. Didn’t hit that one quite as crispy, but it still had a little checkup on it. Little better. So guys, so far I’m going to say I really like the alignment aid on this ball. The black on white. I haven’t really seen many balls do this this way. Would have no problem lining that up. I like the way that looks. It’s It’s definitely still on the firm side, but it’s not definitely not a a rockhard golf ball. I’m pretty sure the compression has to be pretty high, but off the putter, it doesn’t feel bad at all. She feels kind of soft up the putter, to be honest. Just have to hit one right in between those two. Be perfect speed. ball felt kind of firm when I was hitting it off the tea with the putter. It doesn’t feel firm at all. And even with the wedges, I mean, you can barely hear that ball coming off the putter face. Now, is it possible that the matte finish ball, they should be the same compression, but I was playing with the matte finish ball. I need to play another hole with one of these balls. Okay, adjusted for elevation. Right at 300 yd here into the wind. If you want to be picky, 301, very bore drive and again that same feeling. So I would say it does play a little firmer off the driver. Feels softer on the puck. Need to keep this ball low. Pins in the front. We don’t want to go long. We don’t want to go left. So, if we miss this short right, we’re okay because we give oursel the whole green to to chip with. So, that little right side of that green is a good spot. Give ourselves some room. And we pulled it. Keep rolling. All right, that’s the perfect way to finish, I think. Okay, guys, let’s take a look at the numbers for this Lazarus L3R golf ball compared it to the Prov1. I like to have standard testing, so I test every ball against the same golf ball. If you guys don’t like that testing, let me know if you want me to compare it to a different ball, but it’s just easiest because the number one ball in golf is the Talis Pro V1. So, if we compare it with that, we have the same benchmark. At 50 yards, the Lazarus was almost a degree lower on the launch. Spin 700 RPM more than the Prov1. The descent about a degree less steep and the peak height was pretty much the same as the Prov1. With the seveniron, the Lazarus had one mile per hour more ball speed. Launch really close, a,000 RPM more spin. The descent about a degree and a half steeper, peak height a little higher, carry the same, and total two yards shorter because of the additional spin. So, it’s a common theme with this Lazarus ball for me. Now, everyone’s different, but I got a ton of spin on this ball from 50 yards with the seven iron. And then with the driver. So, with the driver, the Lazarus have just under one mile per hour more ball speed than the Prov1 launched about a degree and a half lower, a little less than 500 RPM more spin. I mean, this ball was spinning with every club, and I actually had to redo the test just to make sure that my numbers were accurate. And this was just a high spinning ball throughout the bag. The descent about one degree less steep, the peak height about a yard and a half lower, the carry three yards shorter, and the total three yard shorter than the Prov1. So guys, if you are looking for a ball that generates a ton of spin, then this may be a ball worth checking out. If you’re a person that needs a low spin ball with the driver, this may not be the ball for you. But overall, a solid performer. And if you want me to test the Lazarus ball on the course through nine holes, let me know in the comment section. And if you enjoyed the video, like, comment, subscribe. Until next time, Mr. Shore hitter out. To go.

  1. I'm looking for a new cheap 3 piece urethane. I've been playing Legato for a couple years, and I loved them. However I have not had good a experience with the new version of the ball, unfortunately.

  2. Over the last year I’ve played with a lot of different balls (Calloway, Titleist , Srixon, Kirkland, etc, & I’m not convinced that for a mid to high handicapper it makes a difference in the game? Ultimately, if you’re not making good impact, it’s not gonna make a difference.

  3. I have tested some budget 3 piece balls that I was really excited about but they don't perform like the premium balls. I'm a single digit handicap and play Bridgestone tour B RX ball and it performs as good as the ProV. The Bridgestone is $39 or a little less on sale sometimes. But I might have to try this Lazarus ball

  4. To me, it sounds a little clacky off the putter. Sticking with the Qstar tour. Maybe if i resurrect a Lazarus from a watery grave, I'll change my mind

  5. Please do not change the way you rate these balls compared to a Pro V1. It makes sense and is very easy to understand this format.

  6. I think you’d like the Maxfli SoftFli. It was really impressive off the tee and wasn’t bad around the greens either.

  7. I bought a dozen and was not impressed, biggest issue was durability. Was using in my golf sim and they cut so easily plus the cover in general started to feel too smooth.
You should test these against the Amazon balls!

  8. Short hitta,😮 im gonna tell ya da greatest Golf BauLL eva created, [THE BRIDGESTONE LADY PRECEPT] Thank me Later

  9. Thanks MSH – That was all I needed to know. I’m still working to minimize spin, so likely not for me. You had some nice shots with it though. Thanks again!

  10. Nice review MSH, thank you sir. Question, have you heard about this new Amazon Basic golf ball? Sounds like there is a bit of buzz around this ball, might be worth a review some time in the future.

  11. Hello Mistah Short Hitter. Its been a minute or two since I lasted posted, but it doesn't mean that I don't watch your awesome videos. Lazrus, in my opinion, has always put out good quality products and for a real descent price. I still game the lazrus wedges, bought 3 of them for $100 bucks about 3 or 4 years ago. You should check out their products. The lazrus wedges that I used are forged. I'm going to guess the balls are going to be the same, good price for good quality. Can't wait to try them next year. We are starting our 6 months of winter in North Dakota, all the courses are closed in my area. Keep up the great videos.

  12. Another good golf review. For the price it looks like a nice ball. A bit too much spin for me but it could help some golfers. I've been using the Legato golf ball all summer and this fall and I really like that ball. For under $30 it performs exactly as the Prov1 did for me. The only downside is that the cover isn't quite as durable.
