I tell you what, he’s certainly within three now and very shortly, very shortly might be within two. This is not a good break, it’s a bad break because for sure he’ll need that club again somewhere today. That might make a difference. Full commitment as always, Marco, isn’t it? Look, he knows this is going to out. We saw Shane Larry do this earlier on that we let go of the club. I’m not sure on this occasion it would have made any difference, but that one is destined for the bin. A third shot now. [Music] So, he’s got that now for a par. So, bit of a stumbling start. So live to this part now to remain one ahead. It’s been a messy hole. This would be oh like finding a bag of gold. If anything is going to settle you into your task, that’s it right there. Bonus. Now, happy 31st birthday today to uh Dan Brown. Lovely touch. Yeah, we were sort of expecting him to have two low ones on the weekend. I like John beautifully hold maybe that’s the start. Three birdies in a row to seven under exactly what we expected. This is the Frenchman Alexander Levy with an opportunity with the drop shot of pen. Take the lead. Oh, and does. And he does. Hugo Kuso. Look, it’s catching this left below right chipping style. Oh, and it works as well. You go to minus six. And what do most players allow for the altitude up here, John? Well, with the temperatures about now, I mean, it would be about 6% I would say. Look at this one getting better. Majority pretty much on cool conditions. First thing in the morning, I’d say 5%. Back to the action here in Madrid. And Kuso with another chance. Oh, he’s got his eye in on the greens, hasn’t he? Ugo Kuso. Beautiful. Just easing it in there using the reach. Not too much spin. Great shot. Yeah, it would have been very good to Thursday’s pin. Not quite so good out there today. Iora at the par 3 ninth over the valley. They’re just doing fairway following. Very nice. No doubt about it. Now Reed short game is normally splendid to watch and once again just a joy, isn’t it? As we see Dan Brown second shot up the hill at the eighth. There’s two things I know for sure. Spin back now. Cracking shot from Brown. One of them is Josh Aman is not giving that wedge back. He’s keeping that. And the other one is nobody broke more golf clubs than Tony Johnston. In fact, on this very golf course, many many years ago, I picked up one of your broken clubs from a bin on the 17th. Let’s go over to nine. Dan Bradbury. Is that a bit of a shocker on the front nine? I’m afraid. Five over par. Hello. Hello. Oh. Well, that is one way to improve your day. Lovely. A hole in one for Dan Bradbury at the ninth. [Applause] Spartans things up. [Applause] [Music] What a hole in one. How many people in that crowd I wonder have ever seen a hole in one? Quite exciting. Now this is a hanging lie. Ball above his feet for McKibben at the 10th. Another flag that’s stuck right up at the back of the green. Don’t want to be too firm and left here or I’ll take another tear and finish near the back of the green. Sounded good. That should catch the ridge there. Yes, very well done. Tidy touch from Gerach. He’s some player now. A little hint off the right for Birdie. This be a bonus after that bunker chop. Oh boy, did he need that. It’s been a struggle today, but that will just calm him down, settle his nerves. Not a bad lie in the rough compared to his playing partners. See the club. It was the club as well. Really nicely done there from Gerbach. Yeah. What’s the bounce now? The check cracking shot. Yeah, he’s looking very good indeed. Not an easy putt to read this one in the shadows and the first half up the hill should all filter from the left hand side. This green slopes predominantly from left to right. Looks like he’s gone the other way. He’s done it again. Hold a nice one at seven. Another long cut there at eight. He does do that. Marco Pench. He’s playing some great golf out there at the moment. He really is. Joel Gerbach. Good pace again. Has he got always got such beautiful pace on the pups? He’s just making the game look easy. Doesn’t matter what you throw at him. Broken clubs. It It makes no difference. What a run. Gerach once again to nudge in front this to get to 12 under. Oh, all round good putt. Well done. Gosh, he’s made five birdies in the last six holes. [Applause] You going to land it just on the green or is he just going to pop it onto the fringe? Yeah, that’s the right shot. Really, really good shot, especially under the pressuring. Yeah, I love this last couple of days. Drivable for most of the players. So it brings an eagle too into the equation and that is very much what we might just be about to see. He’s just seen his playing partner driver into about 6 ft. Can he emulate it? Oh my goodness. [Applause] Oh, that’s so good. So good. So, so good. McKim has got a This is not an easy putt here. Take two putts and run to the next T. Up and down. Up and down. What do I know? Not an easy putt. Well done, Tom McKibbon. That is an absolute cracking birdie. He might not be too sure, but I tell you what, it’s gone right in the middle once again. This is a stellar performance from Marco Penge. That’s for the birdie. And he’s got it. Oh, and everyone helps right now. Every single putt is golden for him. Surely can’t escape and get this on the green, can he? We’ve seen everything now. I mean, we marvel at the the length of the driving, but you know, you need such incredible power to get that up and cut it from there. Rafa Cabero to finish on a high. Yeah, he’s stumbled badly on the back nine. So, you could do with this. She’d like to finish on the par and does Dan Bradbury at the final hole. A bit of magic earlier on on the ninth. [Applause] That’s not bad. [Applause] Julian Gerier at the 18th. Ball pass so far in the back nine. Hello. Hello. Excellent effort. Here’s Bern Vberger from the fringe at 17. Will it come back? Will it come back? I think it will. You know, a birdie for the Austrian. Two under the back n sloper up the hill. Right by the hole is going to start diving to his left. He’s done it again. It’s like shelling peas out there, isn’t it, for Marco Pench. It is another birdie. Oh, this is low and hard. Check, please. That’s great shot. That’s really well done. It looks like it’s going to be a par at the last for Marco. It’s around a 64 and he has taken charge here in Madrid. He will be in possession of a fivestroke lead heading into Sunday. Well done Joel Gerbach as well. That’s a birdie at the last and so that will put him in the final group and actually it means the deficit is cut. So he’s within four of Penge. Marco Penge a 64 here at club Dampo this Saturday. try and describe that day out there if you can. Yeah. No, it was um obviously got off to like a semi slow start. I thought it was quite tough early on with the wind. Um and then obviously birdieing seven holding that putt to kind of get me back to even par. I kind of did the same yesterday. I kind of got through seven and then I could I feel like I can um let the range off a little bit in a way. And uh yeah, obviously I was felt every part of my game today was really good. Um, I put my driver back to the same loft as I’ve had it all year and today I felt like I had my speed and my distance back. So, yeah, I just felt really confident. Eight birdies and 10 holes from the seventh. What were you thinking in the middle of that stretch cuz it was unbelievable golf. I just trying to go as low as I could. Like obviously there’s a couple of holes there where you know holes like 11, the par three where you kind of jockey in it a little bit, hit the green and give yourself a chance. But, you know, I’ve learned in the past that you can’t when you’re leading, you can’t just not play steady. That’s not the right word, but you got to be going forward at the same time cuz everyone else will catch you up. So, kind of gave myself a little pep talk after six holes and was like, “Come on, you need to put your foot down now.” And that’s what I did. And it was nice to obviously prove to myself that I could do it. Tomorrow, you got not only the chance to win this historic tournament, but the winner, I’m sure he knows, gets placed in the masters next year. How you how excited are you at the opportunity tomorrow? Yeah, obviously, you know, it’s going to be a great um whatever the outcome is, it’s going to be a great experience, great memories for me. Um you know, I just love playing golf. I love competing. I love playing in front of big crowds like we have here. I love to challenge myself and whether that’s good or bad. So, tomorrow is just another day for me. I go have fun with my caddy again. And you know, tomorrow doesn’t define anything. It’s just another day around 18 hole round of golf and whatever happens happens. It’s not Yeah, it’s not the end of the world. I’ve still got my family at home and all that stuff. So, I’m lucky and uh yeah, the results the result. You said you like to challenge yourself. You play with 13 clubs for 16 holes. I thought I’d give you back your pitching race. Cheers, mate. Thanks for that. Yeah, don’t don’t know what you’re going to do with that. No, neither do I. I don’t know why I gave it actually back to us. I should just put it straight in the bin, but I’ll take the head off and I can reshaft it. Marco, amazing round. Good luck tomorrow. Thank you very much. Thank you. Marco was one of my picks for the Ryder Cup. Sad he didn't make the team. Maybe next time.
Girbach is such a talented guy , hopefully he will give Penge a good fight tomorrow!! ✨✨
Would like to see penge win it. His play this year warrants another title.
time for Marco to tear up the PGA tour next year
Sounds like Harry Kane
Great finishing hole. Español has great courses
Penge looks handsome. Strong legs and so fit
Marco comes across as nonchalant but I have seen him speak like that before. He is hungry for more success and with his game especially his distance off the tee I have no doubt he will carry on winning. I noticed the DP World players are more humble than most of the PGA tour players. Anyone else have a thought on that?
Penge should have been in the Ryder Cup.
After seeing him in the pro-am on Golf Life I really changed my mind about Penge.
Marco is a legend!
Why are you not showing P Reed???? Why???
HALA PENGE!!! 🏴
Good to see a 66 from Grant Forrest warranted the highlights, showing only his tee shot at 18!!!!
I’m becoming a fan of Marco penge. Dude is playing great golf & at top of leaderboards. He’s trending 🆙
Wow Marco sounds like he’s setting himself up to have a big collapse tomorrow. He shouldn’t be doing that. What a great performance and how can you not like him?
Go on Marco lad!
These handheld camera shots are quality
If you break a club, unintentional, are you allowed to replace it during the round? I think it is…
Well Done Marco whats gona happen is gonna happen love that .
Crazy these guys driving to 6 feet on par 4😮 Why no Reed coverage?Anti Usa players 😅
Team Mizuno is having a hell of a year, eh?

every penge putt was about 10 ft and he never missed one
Penge sounds like Harry Kane
Penge is a spit of Harry Kanes' voice! 👏
Another golf tournament ruined for the TV watcher by the opinionated verbal diarrhoea of Mark Roe.
