So, if you ever go to a Ryder Cup, you’ll and you see it on the television, you’ll see lots of people bombing around in buggies. Now, that’s the captain and all their vice captains. They’re obviously going to see how matches are getting on and they’re they’re, you know, transmitting news to each other and how people are playing and they could talk to each other on walkie-talkies. Now, the Europeans claimed that their walkie-talkies were on an open channel. In other words, if they spoke to another guy on another buggy, everybody else could hear it. So, one stage, Bernard Gallagher, who’s the European captain, turns his off. So he’s unaware of what’s going on when when Bastios and Olaf Thal Americans of changing the ball which is against the rules. By the time he turns his radio back on they go to the 10th. But the rules of Gulf mean you cannot ret they were completely in the wrong the Americans but you cannot retrospectively punish them with holes because you didn’t call them up at the time. Correct. And apparently Azinger as soon as he realized he was going to get away with it stopped trying to fib and started admitting it because he knew nothing could happen and you know did they did they sort of do something with the radios because the American radios are working fine of course. Absolutely. And Balasti accuses correctly the Americans of changing the ball three times and he says famously this is one of the one of the great Ryder Cup lines. The American team were 11 nice guys and Paul Aing. And what did Asan going to say coming off the 10th? Nice try guys. Nice try guys. So anything gets you tried.

Sounds like the Europeans were just losers
there is sportsmanship and then there is cheating. Azinger was cheating.
Then they came back in 31 in foursomes, won 3&2. 2 down through 9.
done ya there "'Zinger" 😂😂
They always forget Azingers drop on the 18th against Seve at the Belfry, took his drop before anyone could get there to witness it🤷
The only decent thing the US Team have ever done was in ‘69 with Nicklaus against Jacklin and that was because it was Jack and not because it was the Ryder Cup and even he got torn to shreds by the team for conceding that putt. ‘91, ‘99 and ‘25 have been the lowest points in the Ryder cup even by US standards
Well, Europe is now becoming Islamabad… so, good luck with that
Not surprised. America produces Earths worst humans
As if changing a ball makes that much difference anyway ! Why risk it .. 😂
Sad that it was Payne Stewart on that flight and not Paul Azinger
In all the time he's been around pro golf, I've not heard one nice thing about Paul Azinger personally. Dude must be a real tool.
…and Azinger lost
Wrong…. Seve did something about it, he birdied 5 straight holes to pocket the match
