Loxley, Ala. — The final round of the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational was washed out due to rain in the area. The tournament reverts to the 36-hole results, where the No. 51 Rice Men’s Golf Team took eighth-place.
Senior Lukas Boandl tied for 13th-place at -1 after rounds of 71-72. It’s his fourth top 20 finish of the year and 16th of his career.
Freshman Raines Watson tied for 23rd-place at even par after rounds of 70-74. Sophomore Daniel Zou finished +2 in a 33rd-place tie after rounds of 71-75.
Redshirt junior Henry Daly tied for 50th-place at +5, carding a 70-79. Junior Reggie Zhu posted back-to-back 75’s to finish +6 in a tie for 54th-place.
No. 38 Texas A&M won the tournament at -10, two strokes in front of Rutgers. Memphis’s Yixiang Wang earned medalist honors at -7, one stroke in front of Rutgers’ Luke Koenig and Iowa State’s Zachary May.
