The Missouri State men’s golf team will host the 10th annual Missouri State Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 27-28) at Millwood Golf & Racquet Club in Ozark, Mo. The Bears will welcome Bradley, Northern Iowa, Lindenwood, Evangel, Tennessee State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff to town for the 54-hole event at the par-71, 6702-yard layout, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start planned for both days; 36 holes Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.

Defending medalist Tim Holmberg and fellow senior Christian Rischer will lead the way for the Bears, with junior Owen Swearingen, sophomore Andrew Fallis and freshman Noah Naugle rounding out the lineup. Junior Max Bowman, sophomore Jonathan Jordan and freshman Pedro Gallegos will also see action for the Bears as individuals.

Holmberg tied the tournament record last season, claiming top honors by shooting 66-67-73–206, seven-under-par, at Twin Oaks Country Club back in March. Rischer leads the team with a 73.56 scoring average through the first four tournaments this season, just ahead of Swearingen, who’s at 73.75. Holmberg ranks third on the squad with a 74.25 mark.

MSU posted a seventh-place finish, its best of the fall, in its last outing two weeks ago at the Turtle Point Invitational in Killen, Ala. Swearingen led the way for Coach Neal Stafford’s team with a 28th-place finish, while Holmberg and Rischer were next in a tie for 49th.
