England’s Charley Hull helped the World team defeat Japan in the third-and-fourth-place consolation match at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown event, with Australia defeating the USA in the final.
Hull dominated her match against Ayaka Furue, winning 4 and 3 to conclude her week with a record of 3-1-1 at the New Korea Country Club.
That victory was followed by a 3&2 win for Lydia Ko over Rio Takeda as the World team reached the two-point threshold first and secured third place.
Crucial victories for Minjee Lee and Hannah Green secured the title for Australia against the United States.
After finishing runner-up to Thailand in 2023 at TPC Harding Park, the Aussies went one better in Korea thanks to Lee and Green’s 2&1 wins over Angel Yin and Yealimi Noh, respectively.
The foursomes match between Australians Stephanie Kyriacou and Grace Kim and Americans Lilia Vu and Lauren Coughlin was rendered inconsequential when Green secured victory in the second singles match on the 17th hole.

Cara Gainer was tied for fourth at the Wistron Open
England’s Gainer tied fourth at Wistron Open as Woad misses out
England’s Cara Gainer was one of four players in a tie for fourth place at the LET Wistron Ladies Open, an event won by home player Yani Tseng, who finished 14 under par at the Sunrise Golf and Country Club.
Gainer was joined by Chinese Taipei’s Teresa Lu and Ching Huang and Thailand’s Nook Sukapan on eight under par.
Lottie Woad was a further shot back in a group that also included defending champion Chiara Tamburlini, Thailand’s Patcharajutar Kongkraphan and Chinese Taipei’s Ya Chun Chang.
Despite a disappointing week for Wales’ Darcey Harry, she did have a hole in one on hole two during Sunday’s final round.
