While the competition is fierce at the 2025 Sony Open, the atmosphere at Waialae Country Club is famously laid-back. We follow fan-favorite Gary Woodland as he experiences this unique event, where the scent of plumeria mingles with the roar of the ocean, creating a golf tournament unlike any other on the PGA TOUR.

I love coming here. Uh while I obviously you’re in Hawaii, so it’s it’s hard to to not be happy when you’re here. The golf course is, like I said, this is my 17th year out here on tour. I haven’t played here every year, but this is as good as I’ve seen this golf course. It’s in great shape. Um little breeze, which is nice because it there’s some tough shots out there. Um, so scores aren’t running away and it’s supposed to be blowing like this on the weekend.
