And if I had to choose, reverse sandbaggers are way more tolerable than true sandbaggers. But if you’re gonna say you’re a +6 handicap, which is good enough to play professionally, then don’t brazenly shave strokes and pretend like you made an honest mistake. At the 21:45 mark, he’s playing the 9th hole, and hits his second shot into the water. Takes a drop and hits 4 onto the green. Anyone who plays once a week, let alone a +6 handicap, let alone someone who is filming their round, let alone someone who is doing a challenge to break par, would know instinctually that they are now putting for bogey. To even pretend like it’s a par putt is bonkers to me. He makes another insane drop on the 7th hole (maybe more debatable because the tracer made it look like it carried the edge of the rough). If this is a casual Sunday round with friends, I’m still gonna call it out, but it’s not going to make me think any differently about the person. But this just seems gross to me

These guys have insanely shoddy editing work. will somehow always have a birdie putt 8-10 ft from the hole even when his last shot is clearly on the fringe
you know hes a +6 Amateur right? Just cause Scottie says hes a “+7” doesn’t mean hes tracking on the level Japes does. hes played in many tournaments on tough tracks and played well, and he is dialed on the short game. also pros don’t track Handicaps. hes a damn good golfer but he ain’t one of them
To be a +6, you have to have multiple rounds from the mid tees at like 66. I rarely see him shoot that score. From the tips, it’s like 68, but he has two rounds from the tips at like 64-66
Evan Thompson is a borderline touring semi pro golfer and he’s a +4 with scores you can google like Monday Qs and the US Am.
He’s not a +6. It doesn’t matter at all. Japes is really good at golf.
His differential as +1 is -3.4. I believe that he is a very good golfer but +6 is so good.

Ive seen multiple +4 to +6 players play. They play in the highest national league here. And also some professional matches. Most are not close to challenger let alone dp world tour level.
There is still a difference between “amateur” +4 to +6 and pro’s.
I wonder if he somehow just doesn’t understand how penalty drops work? Right after dropping he says “I could still hole out for birdie”… ?!?! I don’t get how a +6 wouldn’t know how to count drops from a hazard, but who knows. Dude has a nice swing.. no need to cheat

Most of them also score penalties incorrectly, e.g. losing a ball in the rough and dropping as a lateral with a single shot penalty when there are no red stakes. Again I don’t care if it’s a casual round but it makes a massive difference to proper scoring.
Is it possible that he thought it was a par 5 and just got mixed up? I only watched a snippet but sounded like he was talking about if he hit it in the water he just needs to get up and down for the par. If he was really cheating, why not re-putt the last shot. I don’t know this guy and didn’t watch the whole video but if he’s lying about being +6, and is editing videos to make himself look good, wouldn’t he make a video with a better card than E/+1? Shane Lowry picked his ball up without marking it on the weekend, people make dumb mistakes, doesn’t mean they are intentionally cheating

Lol some of my playing buddies are like this. 2 off the tee, every lost ball is a free drop via some gallery rule. The never ending muffed chips and multiple hits in the sand followed by 3 putts on the green and they’re like, “put me down for a bogey”.
