Australia beat the U.S. to win the Hanwha Life Plus International Crown, a national women’s golf competition.
Australia, which teamed up with Lee Min-ji, Grace Kim, Hannah Green and Stephanie Kyriaku, beat the U.S. in the final of the tournament at the New Korea Country Club (par 72) in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on the 26th. In the final, in which Australia played a total of three games, including two one-on-one single match plays and one four-sum match in which two players alternately hit one ball, Australia beat Lee Min-ji and Hannah Green, who played in single matches, by two holes, respectively, Angelin and Yeolim.
Australia previously played in the semi-final tournament as second in Group A, beating a world team of multinational players 2-1 in the semifinals to reach the final. Australia, which was runner-up after losing to Thailand in the fourth tournament in San Francisco in 2023, received $500,000 (about 720 million won) in prize money when it achieved its first-ever International Crown victory.
Meanwhile, in the 3rd and 4th place games, the World Team won both single match plays against Japan and ranked 3rd. South Korea failed to advance to the semifinal tournament with one win, three draws and two losses in the third Group B match against Japan the day before, ranking third in the group.
