In this video I’ll highlight some things I did well and poorly on the golf course. I think some of the tips you can take away from this video are:
1. Play one ball-fight with driver
2. Don’t be afraid to take less than driver off the tee if you aren’t comfortable
3. Don’t hit your wedges full – take more club and finesse one in there!

yeah I had a feeling I had a feeling I was going to hold it too wow one of the best pieces of advice I can give anyone when it comes to playing their best golf at a new golf course or realistically any golf course in general is to play the ball flight off the tea you’re the most comfortable with now a lot of people will try to hit draws Cuts try to hit the quote unquote correct shot and that’s just going to get them in trouble hit the golf shot that you’re most comfortable with especially off the te and take myself for an example you have the entire Earth left to miss it the only place you can’t really hit it is right into the houses and for me I realistically only hit left to right Cuts with my driver and if I ever do need to hit a draw I will never force a draw with driver I’ll just flat out grab a different Club whether it’s a three iron whether it’s a mini driver or a 3-wood you just won’t see me hitting too many draws with driver and a lot of tour Pros have the same sentiments Dustin Johnson famously pretty much only hit a left to right ball flight off the te and never really wavered from that and he’s one of the best drivers in the world in fact if you look at a lot of PJ tour players you won’t see them hitting it both ways obviously if they have to they do have the requisite skill set to be able to shape it either way but off the te they’re primarily hitting one ball flight and throughout the course of this round I’m going to kind of go bounce back and forth with stuff that’s happening live and stuff that kind of I want to bring up and we’re going to take this hole for example I ended up hitting a mini driver here hence the right to left ball flight I wasn’t I’ve never played this golf course before and realistically although I hit a great t-shot I shouldn’t have hit mini driver here just because the landing zone is so tight a lot tighter than I realized and I wasn’t really sure but I’m very comfortable hitting mini driver so I didn’t hit it but if I were to play this again I would definitely hit a three in here have something maybe like in the realm of like 150 yards in which you know I’m still a good ball Striker I can definitely get that on the green if not somewhat close but realistically here you want to leave yourself in the widest part of the Fairway whether that’s with driver whether that’s with iron but you really don’t want to try to hit it where the narrowest part is just because your margin frare is a lot higher so if you’re not sure of the golf course there’s no shame in hitting less than driver um now here I realistically absolutely could have hit a driver but I had no idea it was a blind um shot up into the Fairway so I had no clue it’s only 366 yard so in the back of my head knowing if I hit a shot that goes like you know 240 to like 260 with an iron I can still hit a nine iron or a pitching wedge into the screen and that’s exactly what I did now I am here in the desert in mosquite Nevada on an influencer trip which is actually quite cool I’ll explain kind of how the Dynamics of that work in a little bit but here again if I can get myself to the 150 yard Mark I know it’s a pitching way Ed or nine iron and I can kind of get myself somewhat close to the green now this hole was terrifying this is one of the most beautiful holes on the trip but that’s the beauty about being comfortable hitting a left to right ball flight I can aim up the left side and scream it over and speaking of screaming it over I piped this shot off the trees it almost bounces back on the green it’s kind of funny I posted this real to Instagram and everyone was saying I was faking it and all that stuff but the thing I don’t quite understand especially when it SES to me is if I were to fake it why would I not just post myself hitting a better shot like drop a ball and hit another one instead I posted this which is me chunking a 60° I realistically should have puted it but there were there were a couple bumps in front of there and this is kind of the bad thing about having a mini driver in the bag and not having a 3-wood or even a hybrid in the bag is I could have just bumped it with that and that extra little bit of Loft a wood and hybrid have compared to a putter is it’s going to a little bit off the face which is going to basically not be affected by those bumps and stuff that are the first couple feet of um in front of you when you’re putting but if you were to putt that putts Putters typically have like 0 to 4 degre so the ball is going to be rolling a lot quicker so you’re more susceptible to hitting those kind of bumps and stuff so that’s why you see people hit hybrids and 3-woods every now and then I shouldn’t have hit a wedge that was a stupid thing on my part and I realistically should have made a bogey but I made a decent two putut um even though I hit my first putt like 5T wide but um that’s another theme Here unfortunately is ball striking is my strength but putting is unfortunately a weakness and if you watch my bad putts to my compared to my good putts you’re going to see my bad putts especially on longer putts my stroke my back stroke length is so short and my through stroke is so long I feel like this is a pretty good example of a good putt here if you could see my backstroke and my through stroke were relatively similar IDE perfect world my backstroke is slightly longer than my through stroke I find too I want to be slightly decelerating very slightly decelerating into the ball that rapid acceleration is something that kills speed and when you take the Potter back really short your body intuitively knows that that’s not long enough to be able to get the ball to the hole so it speeds it up and unfortunately that’s a killer for distance control and what is also a killer is piping in the water when you have another par five in reachable gozone and I didn’t play these par fives on the front nine here particularly well at all and at this point here too and you’ll see it on the next hole we ended up all just playing together initially we were playing as a threesome and then um we all joined up as a six or seven or an eight some for the next couple holes eventually me and Yasmin kind of just Branch off and go play on our our own just because we wanted to uh finish just because I’m making this video and that being said kind of segue into the influencer trip I was was invited from mosquite um the mosquite golf page the mosquite Nevada golf page on Instagram they asked us to come down so there’s a few of us here there’s Darren there’s Nick there’s Jasmine and Andres and um Henry Grio and then also not pictured here is um Big Mo from MOSI golfs from good good super good guy um no pun intended but yeah it was a really fun trip basically they reached out to me and wanted us to come play some golf I think we’re here for like four or five days and we play golf pretty well every single day I think a couple days we did 36 um I think today we actually did 36 very very cool in Nevada here and the ball unbelievably like it goes so far in the desert unfortunately that doesn’t translate to putting and I missed a lot of putts here but let’s take this shot here for an example if I was someone that was very uncomfortable hitting the ball left to right like one ball flight I’d be terrified this looks like a horrifying t- shot to hit especially aiming at the water and cutting it back like something in the past I would definitely double cross it and snipe hook it in the water all day every day or just get scared and open the face and block it into the out of bounds right because I didn’t want to go on I didn’t want to go in the water essentially so being comfortable hitting one ball flight allows me to be confident and just aim left and rip it that stroke here was terrible if you notice it way short way long and again it’s going to come up way short speed control is one of the most important things when it comes to putting and I just I just don’t have it unfortunately but um we got a par five here um we’re one over par and I haven’t played the par FES particularly well hit a good drive here 200 yards up the hill hit a nice perfect cut this one actually almost landed in the pin it was such a good shot but again the greens here in mosquite are very slippery I feel like I hit this putt realistically like 8T in front of me but it just kept going and going and going like it almost comes to a stop here but then it just keeps going right obviously you can’t really control 200 yards out you want to be below the hole on a lot of these greens I hit a good shot I think that’s my ball Mark there to be honest um but being above the hole here it mosqu when it’s dry when it’s firm when it’s fast cuz this is kind of their like peak season to be honest um yeah it gets really firm and fast and I think this stroke isn’t particular yeah look at that stroke way short and Way Long terrible for Speed doesn’t even get there and it’s only like what an eight footer up the hill terrible but again here we’re going to go a nice little cut with driver off the te so again part five scoring is just absolutely brutal I need to be better at this but one thing that is nice is my wedge game is pretty solid and if you saw from the beginning of the video I’m going to be quiet and let my guy Yasmin take over D I had a feeling I had a feeling I was going to Hole it too yeah that’s the nice thing about having a really solid wedge game is you know you have so so many chances and here’s another hole here where I wasn’t sure what to expect 360 yards not particularly long I kind of chunked my I didn’t really chunk it I just didn’t hit it pure that three iron so I have 175 uphill into the wind at this point it’s starting to get a little nippy a little cold so the ball’s not going as far as we would like but you know I’m still walking away this hole with a par so if it’s a hole I’m not really sure of it’s fine and again here’s another example of ripping a nice little left to wrer off the te I don’t think I hit one driver that was a draw off the te I think I did hit one mini driver that was a draw and here’s my next piece of advice for you to play better at golf 103 yards I hit a full swing 60° and it’s going to come up way short never hit full wedges take more Club flight it down just do anything but hitting it full it’s very difficult to have good distance control when you’re doing these full wedges um you could see Rory mroy has always struggled with his wedges cuz he’s so fast you see him hitting a lot of full shots realistically especially with that last shot I should have made a swing like this you can see an abbreviated follow through it’s much easier to control the distance and I ended up hitting a really solid shot here it almost landed right by the pin ended up going a little bit past and again these greens here are tricky my friend like look at this swing I kind of got a bit scared from a couple holes prior and now unfortunately I have a four-footer that is going to absolutely sling but this is such a really good putt one of my best putts of the trip and it ended up being a 4-footer like look how much that broke it was an absolute snake so we’re finally back to underpar here thanks to that hole out so haven’t played particularly amazing but not particularly bad just kind of hung in there just you know hitting a lot of greens hitting a lot of Fairways getting in play didn’t really hit too many penalty shots other than that that pumped ball I did hit two pump no just one ball in the in the hazard here but the nice thing about staying in and hitting good shots and being patient is eventually you might get rewarded here and ended up making another Birdie on that short par 4 here and we got one last hole here 18 Again a nice little cut it’s so liberating being able to aim at the water and just swinging left knowing it’s not going to go left like trust me guys I’ve been there I’ve hit the snap hooks aim left and double cross into the houses it’s not good but here is a better example of hitting a nice saw off wedge to about I don’t know 15 ft a much better stroke here and this one’s going to go in so if you guys enjoyed it we managed to battle it back and get it in the 60s here at 69 so I would appreciate it if you like comment subscribe do all that good stuff see you next time [Music]
