All Shots from Lydia Ko 2025 International Crown Day 2

Co. Here is Lydia with her second dream finish for co yesterday. Those birdie birdies announcing herself at the international crown from 90 yards. Sandwiched here for co. A right pin her forte this number and produces one there. That’ll be for a third straight birdie. Can we say that? Going back to yesterday. Yes. They were down all day yesterday, weren’t they? Holl and co. They never led. They never led. And it’s exciting. It’s the pairing that we all wanted as fans. And Lydia gave it to us in the sense there is no captain, but Charlie said she’s like our chief captain. She’s earned that, hasn’t she? So Charlie’s got one even closer, but Lydia to go first. Not much in this one. Maybe just a fraction from right to left. That’s the beauty of the four ball format. She’s got her partner now. Charlie Hull got another chance. I think that’s what’s so crucial I think in Forb. If you can get the two chances, we saw that yesterday. The teams that were giving themselves the two chances in every green. Angel, if you let me know, did that for the Americans and we really saw that with with Yoju and Hedgent, right? So, a win for the world team at the first hole and a win at the second for the other world team of Brook Henderson and Waying Shei. Lydia Co on the tea at the par three. Yeah, just 134 yards slightly uphill on a very tight little left pin. It’s on a little ledge tucked on the left with a bunker just left that bunker. It’s only four yards to the left of this flag. Back we go for the bunker skills challenge here at the second. And Lydia Kogo’s first. Landing this on a down slope. Anyone else you’d rather have than Lydia? And that’s going to catch that slope I was talking about and run away. Told you how tough it was. See what Charlie’s lie is like. If there any issue fluffy, powdery sand. So pot’s coming up before hedging. That’s for birdie. You just want to help your playing partner out here. Obviously Lydia won’t be happy with the miss off the tea, but can hold this one and then Charlie doesn’t need to have the the pressure of of holding her putt. You’re just forever trying to free each other up here. If the second shot was quick, this one will be very, very slow from right to left. Yeah, no one wants to lose a a hole to a par and four ball, especially such a short little par three. This will be up to Charlie and it may not even matter. have a punt to win the hole here shortly. [Laughter] And anybody else might be thinking, “Oh, I’ve got that. I’ve got to turn it.” And also, this is going to force you down the right hand side. And with a front right pin, that’s not a good leave. The draw is the play off this T- box. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Orchard irons. Lydia is one of the best at chopping the legs from underneath it, isn’t she? She does hit a lot of cuts with her pitching. She manufactures so many shots, especially with her hybrids. She’s got so many different yardages. She can hit the same club, different flights, different heights. She can hit the same club five different yardages. She has a yardage for every two yards from about 180 down. I feel a little sorry for the caddy now which option which by the time they pick the club, then they got to pick which yardage they’re going to hit with that club. Just check how she grips up and down her clubs throughout this round. She’d have gone up, had a walk, seen the landing area that she would want, and now is just laying the face wide open. It’s quite wristy in her action, which means she doesn’t hit it the furthest, but it sets up well for anything inside 100 yards. The airplane preferred lies super ball. Anything in the closing mode area can be picked up and cleaned after super soft conditions here. So the grass you can really just clip it off the top. The ball really sits up. It’s a good leave below the hole. As we’re going to say, probably all coverage below the hole is good on these greens. Maybe the two most popular players globally teaming up here. Lydia the Hall of Fame. Charity turning heads all kinds of reasons, mostly her golf, but uh she’s a great personality of the game, isn’t she? And Lydia couldn’t have an easier putt. She’s left that chip in the perfect spot below the hole. It’s really just pick your line, commit to it. The greens are very pure this week. Be just inside right center. [Music] Big answer from Lydia. She had the answers late yesterday with the closing birdies at 17 and 18 to steal half the point. Down here we see Lydia teing the ball down. This is her fairway finder with a driver. Comes out lower more chase to it. It’s the ante left shot for Co. With her ball flight though, she likes to hit it left to right. Not the easiest T- shot. Perhaps she would have caught the bunker. So, she got underneath that one. So, the bunker 250 carry hole. Move on. You can only lose one hole, Lydia. Not a great lie in that fairway bunker. trying to advance it down. May not matter. Par may be enough there. The 10th. Let’s go back to the fourth and the third shot for Lydia. The further back you are on this fairway, the flatter the lie. It’s a down slope from 70 yards short. So that plays into her hands. Seven yards of green to work with. And that’s tugged left. So, one at two with the short shot was a little left. This one’s left. Have Yeah, they were smiling. They were laughing. They were chatting. Look like they really enjoyed it yesterday. It’s a wide fairway. It’s unusual to see Hoju miss it. The TV tower is the line here for coat. 360 yards up the hill. Just the same as Kim, just missing out to the right a little bit. Check if it’s plugged or anything. Yeah, cuz she’s literally just what, two yards off the fairway, but it’s a kind of blind t-shot. Checking to see if it plugged the hill. We’re looking to uh keep it right of this pin. It’s a similar type of issue as what you had on the first par three of the day where co- missed it left. This time you would find the the winter green 5 yd from the left. I’m looking at pitching this 145 yards. Gripping down a seven iron here for Co. She’s missed some left and now that’s well right way to the right. The hole’s just not really setting up for a fade though. We’ve had the T-shots are all kind of right to left. The pins been on the left and we’ve had dog legs from right to left. Par 36 the second for Lydia Co. Oh my on her own again here unless Lydia can hold this one. Wouldn’t put it past her but um it’s just A great shot, but not quite enough. It’ll be a bogey for Lydia. Charlie with her opponents in there tighter for Birdie. Win their match. Auntie Mingi is what they call her. Apparently Hannah Green’s the mom of the group. You can see her just hugging her saying, “What were you doing leaving yourself that sixfooter?” Back to the seventh T- box with Lydia Cope, this world team. Let’s see if she can get a good shot here. One bunker down the right, 244 past it. That one looked better. Down for the tea quickly. This is an inviting T-shot. It’s a very wide fairway and a short par4 wide fair, but you definitely need to be on the fairway cuz you’re playing to a very small green. more on the two longer player shots than where we see Lydia and Hoju. They’ve got this flatter lie. Yeah, Lydia just at the top of the hill, the brow of the hill looking right down on the screen. Let’s see if she can sort her irri. That’s more like Lydia. She’s bound out of a couple of holes here of late. He’s really carried the water [Music] and it’s unnerving when you were missing path. Always one of the best chippers. And speaking of man herself, one of the all-time greats. Extra pressure if you’re just playing for yourself. Doesn’t not that it doesn’t matter, but it’s only you you’re letting down, but you feel you’re wanting to do this for your partner, for your team. And worth noting that for all she’s done at the game, this is an unfamiliar setting for her playing in match play. She’s played in the team mobile match play, but that’s just you. Now you’re playing for a team. And uh here she is for the first time. She really delivered when it mattered the most late yesterday to help steal half a point. This for birdie. [Applause] So a chance for Hedge and Choy to tie this match up again. This event debuted in 20. Forgotten she’d given her that one. So Melo have about to get that back to one down. The world team still one up, still with the honor. Lydia car 58. Now with last, we’ve got a hole that moves from left to right. Should really suit Lydia Koi. Okay, perfect. It’s amazing when a a hole just suits your eye how you can just you just stand up there and you’re with a little bit more free flowing. All these holes are going right to left. Lydia likes to hit it left to right. It’s just more work. Pairing that I’m suggesting work and you you have the freedom to change it up, but she was very much involved. Yeah, sometimes it does come down to how the course plays, the way whether they’re right to left holes, left to right. As you say, the par five is reachable for a longer hitter, not for the shorter hitter. So, you really do have to see a golf course sometimes before you can be dead set on your pairings. Angela said she trusted them to make that decision and it’s worked so far. They’re 2 and0 yesterday and they’re up by at least three holes in both of their matches today. Second shot at the eighth for Lydia. She’s grabbed herself three wood here. There’s a bunker that sits in the middle of this fairway. starts at 50 short of the green and finishes at 30 short of it. Okay, it’s on the green. That’s the good news. The bad news, that’s not the green they’re playing. But the better news is she has loads of green to work with. She’s pin high there. And the best news is she’s Lydia Co and she has her short game. Now, I saw Hoju Kim opt to do that the last two times the ladies European tour was here. when you’re not one of the longest hitters, sneak down that left hand side on the eighth hole. If it comes to res knew that that down that left hand side that she’s got so much green to work with, she’s got about 30 yards of pure green. It’s all moving from left to right. She will know that the next putt she has, if it is a put, will be from below the hole. So, this one will move from left to right on her. Yeah, it was a really sensible shot, wasn’t it? Because she knew that bunker 40 yard short was perhaps just in in range if she didn’t quite catch her second shot. And these are the shots she lives for. The imagination, her eyes light up, wants to land it halfway and down the left hand side here. Charlie’s over the green in two. I will not be happy with that one. Are you surprised the kind of shots she hit? It was lower than I thought. It was a little low, but uh that is one of them. Right, Lydia. First of two birdie chances here to tie the hole. Hit it. And she saved her best for last yesterday. Long putt for Birdie just to keep her match one down on 17. And then the birdie at the 18th. Maybe the shot of the day to get a half point with Charlie. That was against four major titles in the last two seasons. They had had only two in the 75 previous years of the LPGA Tour. Here’s Lydia on the tea of the ninth. Last match of the day. Yeah, lovely. Lydia the ninth back towards the hospitality. Just that one lone bunker down the left hand side. That’s three straight fairways hit now for Lydia. Maybe as you said, she’s Charlie knows Lydia’s going to find Lydia can get one close here. Looking for her first 30 of the day. Get a great look there at how much uphill this ninth hole plays. Taking a club longer but gripping down on this. The radar is off with the irions and that’s a that’s shortsided yourself to that. She’ll know. Just see her. She knows how difficult that up and down is going to be. Debuts. And here is Lydia back at the ninth. Took the uh second shot up onto this mouth. [Music] Barb there. [Music] And I believe Charlie knew Lydia was going to hold that putt on 18 yesterday because she’d had a Lydia had had a a bet with her caddy the day before in the practice ground. He’d given her a really difficult up and down on the 18th. Wasn’t the best bet to take. Swan Looks like she’s got to take relief from the the path. Yeah, I think has she potentially tried to take relief from the path and then dropped it and it kicked back down and now finding a spot to place it when after trailing two down early today. That one was gift wrap for them, wasn’t it? It was winning a hole with a par and four ball. I think Angel’s goal this week will be not to play 17 and 18. Go up those hills. I don’t want to walk. I get back to my bed. She’s the type I think she can sleep for 14 hours. See, what do you do in the winter? Should I hibernate? I still down this night watching Lydia Co trying to find a stance, never mind be able to place a golf ball in the right position. crowd again. Close look at the Hall of Famer. This is not where she wants to be. So, free drop for Lydia. Yeah, she’ll drop it twice and then just place it as close to where it last hit the ground. of any kind of similar stance to the one on the back of the seventh that Choy had that she so successfully chipped. The trouble is now we spoke about the the slope, but it’s how uncertain the turf is underneath you because everything’s rolling away down there. It’s just soil. You can see when she walks as well how soft the plants are around it. Fortune today. All right, here is Lydia. Third shot par4 night. Charlie Hall has the green herself, her teammate. [Music] And that was it was just so difficult. So difficult to get the contact. She was having to bounce it through that rough. Lydia did make one birdie. I misspoke her. Malf Lydia for part. So Charlie again on her own. It could be the odd sorry said I think on this front nine but like you said yesterday Katrina when we watched Heyon with a long Bernie putt to come. Lydia Co has only recorded a score on one hole in the front nine. That was the birdie she made at three, but uh we saw what she did late yesterday with the birdies that rescued her team to get half a point. They make the turn now. It’s amazing what hitting the turn can do for you psychologically. the right side of the green. Started to hit it better off the tea has been building on that. Now needs to start hitting some greens. The radar go back to Lydia first. This should be a really good pin for Lydia to attack. Ball below her feet. Pin on the right hand side. Perfect for her. Land it just in the front at the middle. There’s the fade. We’re back in business. Putting the pressure on. Only a matter of time. Train and Lauren Koga. have not trailed in two days. Coglin and VU now Lydia at the 10th give the world team a two up lead. Yeah, just across the slope. It’s just going to move a little bit from her left to right. Really good chance here. Good stroke. It was and that was a well played hole. Still one up. Lydia Fairways Greens had a good birdie look there hoping to progress this onto the back null location. Lydia Co with her second at the par four. Yeah, she’s coming from the right side from the right hand side of the fairway for this left pin, but she is in that rough. So, it’s going to be very much lie dependent. The pin is just 16 yds on. So, she’s just going to have to try and land this just two or three yards on and then let the release take it up to the hole. Again, not an easy pin for Lydia on the left hand side. Likes to move the ball from left to right. So much grasp between ball and club there. Not like a flyer for co behind the green. Her third at the par 411. Face pointing to the sky. Got to get this one coming down softly. Oh, runs away from her. Oh, stop it. That’s outrageous. Go in. [Applause] in crown four ball back to the tea at the 12th. Lydia narrower fairways just got to negotiate it between the two bunkers. But she’s saying feels like she’s getting the middle of the club face now. depending how these last few holes go. Yeah. If the matches finish how they are at the moment, everyone everyone else will have a chance to get through. US will already be through. This is the second year of this revised for format where you’re going to have four teams advancing to the semi-finals on Sunday morning. Two years ago, a couple of teams had already been eliminated on day two. You love to see Saturday shootout. See what happens. Lydia for birdie to win the hole to take the world team to three up. They’re just winning the holes at the right point in the match. Okay, she’ll mix up with a birdie putt to come. Par 31 13th Lydia gripping down a seven iron here. Lydia plays five up the hill. Needs to come back from left to right. This would only be the third hole co’s come into, but what a crucial point in the match. Another one of those was a birdie. He was into third. Trying to release the tension in those shoulders. Oh my word. What a development unexpected and suddenly it’s just a one-up lead for Holland Co. That’s a story line right there. Second shot up there. Lydia back on the tea as far. Comfortable T-shot for Lydia. Slide it left to right around the corner. Doesn’t need to flirt trees. Perfect. But Charlie’s going to go over to that far left hand side of the T- box. She’s one going to launch one over the edge of these trees. And now Lydia driver off the deck for Lydia Co. It’s contagious. It’s on though trying to feed it through the bunkers down the right side. That’s up green side. Lengthy one to come mind. at this parody. And look at Lydia’s predicament here. Right up against the face. And she’s got a long way. She’s going to hit this all the way across the green. She’s just going to open up that club face and hit this hard. What a good shot. That was I think that was about as good as she could do. You could see she hit that as hard as she could with the face wide open so it would get up over the over the lip of the bunker. Teammate Kim will still have a shot. Lydia Co has this for her birdie. Yeah, after really a good shot out an awkward lie out the green side bunker on the left back up the hill. Charlie’s going to have a birdie putt as well. Just not been Lydia’s day. She hit a really good shot into the first hole. Narrowly missed the birdie putt. Charlie would go on to make and they’ve not trailed. Lydia completed that follow through. Nice high finish there by Co. She’s definitely hit the ball a lot better on this back now. Struggled a little on the front, but definitely found middle of the club. They’ve enjoyed this. Showing it, of course. Now Lydia hasn’t been as fun for her today, but maybe saving her best for last again. Really accessible pin here. Great shot from Lydia Co. Class always rises. Two birdies to close her match yesterday. One to keep her match alive and then another one. It’s an awkward lie up and down from 80 yards. This match really has been kind of a a story of each team letting the other off the hook. repeatedly. And here’s a chance for Lydia to really give her side a commanding lead just for a two-up advantage with three to go. On 13, she had a similar length, but it was downhill. She had to be more careful with it. This one, it’s left to right. Can hit it with more force. [Applause] time of the day for Lydia Cole and Liam’s escape with a tie at the 15th. Just standing over them, you know, just kind of fiddling with her grip a little bit. Two days young co here on you going to the final pole yesterday as you said. Another left pin and a par three. This course is not set up for Lydia today. However, she hit a beauty into 13. Let’s see what she’s got here. Also lovely. has not had her aame today. This a putt to really put the pressure on Yuk made the two putts in 1718 yesterday when she had to. Got a good look at the line here. It was a another another lip out for Lydia. Oh, that one looked good the whole way. I thought that one had to drop the win in this match. Lydia, she made a punt of about this length yesterday just to keep her team in it and then won it at 18. How often is that the way Charlie’s one doesn’t break? Lydia watches that and goes straighter and hers breaks. If one of those goes in, suddenly Korea are putting to stay in it, to stay in the match. Now they’ve got two putts to tie it up. Charlie and Lydia never at any point led yesterday. They got a half point thanks to Lydia’s birdie here. And they’re back tied again. Drive there for Lydia. [Music] Charlie said good shot right at impact. She was convinced that was going to be a good one and it is. Lydia has struggled all day, coach. He mustered some last minute magic once again here at the 18. [Music] Maybe she’ll have that for birdie. It’s hard to get excited over such a good shot because we know what they’ve got to come. That one’s a little more straight above it, which actually might just give it slightly less break. Charlie, [Music] Charlie with a walk-on birdie and a full point for the world team in this 18th hole as well. cuz we’re already first.
