The Green Bay Packers faced adversity before they even left town for last week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
In the latest FOX 11 One on One interview, defensive lineman Barryn Sorrell explained to FOX 11 Sports Director Ryan Wing what the players did during a five-hour delay with their plane.
It was a lot of team bonding, Sorrell said.
During the game, the Packers did well, holding off the Cardinals in the fourth quarter.
“That’s kind of been a point of emphasis for us is just mastering these situations and coming out on top,” Sorrell said.
The rookie said he has been learning from star pass rusher Micah Parsons, whose sack of Jacoby Brissett was key in preserving the win.
Another key play was a fumble forced by pass rusher Rashan Gary and recovered by safety Evan Williams. It came just days after Williams discussed the team’s efforts to generate more takeaways during last week’s FOX 11 One on One interview.
“It sparked a run for us,” Sorrell said of the play.
Sorrell also shared what head coach Matt LaFleur told the players after the game.
Looking ahead, Green Bay heads to Pittsburgh for a Sunday night showdown against Packers legend and current Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“At the end of the day, it just comes down to going out there and competing, giving your best, and I think we’re going to do that,” Sorrell said.
The Packers still have things to work on. Sorrell closed by saying close games early in the season would prepare them for the stretch run.

Hello everyone. Welcome to our WUK Fox1 YouTube series with Packers rookie defensive lineman Baron Surell. Baron, a crazy 36-hour span. Kind of for the people who don’t know, 5 hour playing delay. What was that like? Uh just a lot of team bonding. I’ll say that. Uh just hanging around the guys. I mean like I watched every single college football game. Like I mean we played card games. Just finding things to do to keep yourself busy. But uh I mean the most important thing is to just come out on top of that and get the win. Yeah. And you guys didn’t lead until the final two minutes of the game. You played really well in the fourth quarter. Something you kind of had struggled the last couple games about. How crucial was it to to play really good complimentary football in that fourth? Yeah, just uh finishing. I mean, you got to go out there and you got to finish these games. I mean, it’s really hard to win the NFL. And I mean, it these games a lot of these games coming down to situations at the end of the uh game. And that’s kind of been a point of emphasis for us is just mastering these situations and uh coming out on top. And I mean just for for us as a as a defense like we wanted to go out there and uh and obviously get the stop, but it starts with us up front going out there straining to to put pressure on the quarterback in those situations and uh just proud of the way we all went out there and competed. Obviously Micah had a tremendous game. Big sack of Jacobe Brassette at the end. You were right there. What was your view of that final sack of what he was able to do? I mean man it was great. I mean, he definitely helped helped set us up for that win. I mean, he’s a he’s a game record. He had a really great game and I’m just blessed to take the field with him. What is what makes him from what you’ve seen so difficult, so good. Yeah. Uh I say just the way he hunts. Like I mean it’s it’s more it’s not just all technique. It’s it’s something just in him. Like it’s just his will to just go uh be dominant every single snap like to go get back there. And it’s not um it’s not always going to be a certain way. It’s not always going to look a certain way, but he’s going to get back there. And uh I feel like that’s something I just been trying to take from him and learn uh from his game. It’s just the way he attacks uh offensive linemen, the way he uses his angles and pass rush to to get on him fast and get to the quarterback. I mean, in uh ten of a second. Yeah, he’s he’s he gets to the quarterback pretty quickly. We talked last week with Evan Williams about how turnovers probably going to come in bunches. They didn’t come in bunches, but at least you got one. Led to a touchdown. How crucial was that play? It was really crucial. I mean, uh, Rashan, like I mean that that that literally sparked I mean it it sparked the run for us, especially as a team. And I mean that’s what we look for in a leader like him to be able to go out there and do that. And I mean that that play was that that was a great play. And I mean the timing of that play, I mean it couldn’t have gone any better. What was Matt’s message in the locker room to the team afterwards? Yeah, I mean just being proud of us the way we went out there and competed obviously uh with the the travel uh situation. I mean just being able to come out on the other side of that and not let it affect us. I mean he he was proud of us and um uh just happy that we were able to come out with the win. Now you have Aaron Rogers and the Steelers. I know not a lot of people on this team have even played against Aaron Rogers, but like it’s another chance against a quality opponent to prove that you guys are what you think you are. Pretty good team. what do you have to do to to get the win? Yeah, just going back to the drawing board, learning. I mean, it first starts with learning from what we what we could uh get better in this in this last game. And I mean that starts with all of us like individually and then obviously collectively coming together in these practices and focusing on different situations once again knowing how these games may go. You got to be ready for any type of situation. But once again, just cleaning up the things from from this last week and uh sharpening all all of our tools going into this next game. And then at the end of the day, it just comes out to comes down to going out there and competing, giving your best. And um I think we we’re going to do that. How nice is it that there are things to clean up, but you’re still winning. It’s not like you’re bemoning the fact that, oh, we didn’t get this done and we lost, but you still have things you can learn in in a win. Yeah. Just like you said, I mean, and still winning. I mean, that’s the most important thing at the end of the day. Like, I mean, football is it’s a it’s a very uh it’s a tough game and I mean, there’s things that you can learn from every snap. And I mean it just comes down to especially in these seasons with uh multiple games is just like how are we going to be playing our best ball later down the line and uh these games is what uh set us up for that. So we just got to keep learning from each and every single situation. But then at the end of the day like you said just got to come out with the win. It’s good stuff. Packers now 4-1 and one. They take on the Steelers next week on Sunday Night Football. That’s Packers rookie defensive lineman Baron Serell. Thanks for watching our WLUK Fox1 YouTube series.
