Apologies for putting everything in reverse but beginning is at the end with today being the first picture.
Thank you for all the insight you all provided the first go around, was super helpful!
All in all has been an experience, would I do it again, probably but not until the kids are much older. Having to sprinkle in an hour here, hour or two there had made it last a while. would make some adjustments. It was fun, I still have a laundry list of stuff to finish off but to date costs On the pretty much solo side yard DIY build
Initial quote 7500$
Updates synlawn quote after I did the dirt work $4700
225 sq
Drainage, rock, DG, Turf, hired some help to get the turf laid in a day.
$2100- comes out to about 10$ a sq foot
I 100% had a good bit of wasted cost as a complete rookie but all in all I’m happy. What a closed off weed and junk pile area is now usable.
Now back to the lawn she needs some extra TLC bc I’ve been rejecting it as of lately with this project.

Now Reddit: can you assist me with lighting suggestions for the putting green and path past the green. I already have a 5’ tall a/c privacy fence that will wrap around and make a backwards L I just need reinstall it.

Additionally. It may be my eyes but the turf almost looks like it waves in the photo it rolls flat when I hit a putt. I’m assuming that it just needs 24/48 hrs to get used to its new home? Idk I’m happy.

That’s the best idea I’ve ever seen for a unusable part of a majority of homes these days. Being built closer to property lines now I see more and more houses with .2.5 feet property line to house structure. And they don’t even drain water either.
