Sarit Suwannarut kept the pedal to the metal, increasing his advantage on top of the leaderboard by four shots at the halfway stage of the US$2 million International Series Philippines.

The two-time International Series winner added a six-under par 66 to his overnight 64 and reached 14-under par after 36 holes, four ahead of local hero Miguel Tabuena (65), who delighted his home fans with a stunning round that included a hole-in-one and an eagle in the space of three holes.

Joining Tabuena at 10-under was the in-form Japanese star Kazuki Higa (69).

Another Japanese player, Yosuke Asaji (66), Korea’s Soomin Lee (67), Chinese Taipei’s Wang Wei-hsuan (67) and Hong Kong’s Matthew Cheung (67) were tied fourth at nine-under, while New Zealand’s Denzel Ieremia (67), American Patrick Reed (66) and India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar (69) were tied eighth at 136. It made for a truly international leaderboard as players from nine countries made the top-10.

really is a hugely attractive piece of property. This Robert Trent Jones Jr. design plays to a power of 72, just a smidgen over 7,300 yds, green stimping as they were for the round one, right around that 10t4 range. Now with more than half the field breaking bar in the opening round, birdies very much the order of the day this week. And the man who teed off at 7:00 this morning, Miguel Tuina, the hometown hero, certainly gave the fans plenty to cheer about an eight iron, finding the mark at the bar 314th. What a Friday it’s already been for Miguel de Buena. Here are the conditions up ahead. Pretty warm out there. 33° C, humid as well, and the breeze coming out of the same direction as it was for Thursday’s opening round. And I’m Timothy Low. Alongside me in the commentary box, the voice of Asian golf Don Boule, threetime Asian tour champion Anthony Kang. And we’ll be hearing on course from Rachel Drummond and Cherry Folks. Want to show you what’s already transpired this Friday. Starting with twotime major champion Dustin Johnson. Made nine birdies in his opening round yesterday, but just the three Friday morning. Fortunately put a double bogey in there as well. DJ with a 73, but he’s safely threw to the weekend. How about Kasuk Hamoto? This T-shot at 194 yd 17 to set up a fourth birdie in a row. The tie with a 67. That leaves him at seven under par. And Patrick Reed started the day at two under par. Made the turn three under. this putt at the sixth moves to five under par for the round and he would add a birdie at the par five eight and here at the ninth one of his four missed greens that third shot out of the bunker beautifully played and unlucky Patrick Re will shoot a six under par eight under total yuk Asaji shot a 69 yesterday and it was already five under par when he made this part on 16 that’s a 66 and he sits at nine under par but it’s the crowd favorite Miguel Tabuena hold him on on 14 an eagle on 16 this for a third eagle of the round didn’t quite go in but it was a birdie and it was a round of 65 and he currently sits at top the leaderboard at 10 under par fantastic performance from the Filipino and outscoring his playing partners Justin Johnson and Louis Worsten as well. As Dom mentioned, Tab Buena sits at top the leaderboard tied with Sar Suana at the overnight leader. It’s a Suana run. That’s a good effort for Sad. Although a bit disappointed that he let the final round go the previous week in Macau. obviously in very good form. It’s been a slow Friday for four time winner Sutipat Pratti Tentry. One over the count of this point and eagle would help. It would help. There you go. Sutip, that’s better. Up to five underpar. He’s certainly becoming one of the elite players on the Asian tour. City Pat the last couple of seasons. Anyway, safely on the green, Jack Thompson hitting his shot onto the green. Well done, Jack. Ended a run of five straight miscuts in the Asian Tour with a top 10 finish at the Macau Golf Club last week. Trying to cut one in there. Oh, what a shot. Five ft left for an Eagle three to get to 10 under. Oh, you are kidding. Backto back holes. Kuzuki Heagger grabs a piece, but the ball stubbornly remains above ground. Now, Tumin Lee four under par for his round. Make that five under par for the fivetime winner on the Korean Tour. Still going a little left. Not much. Now Charles Porter for a tall jab. He’s remarkably orthodox. This is Pratt Tiani for eagle at 10. Yeah, two eagles in three hoes possibly. It’s got a chance. It really has. Oh boy. But it is a little bit downgraded the last 15 ft or so. He’ll take that one. That’s an excellent shot. I’m taking it. All right. Come on. Come on. Needed to come out just a foot faster. Great touch. Not much in this Fishman slightly playing with the right grain. Work that out beautifully. The Australian starts his bat n as Vincent did with a birdie four. Oh, that fist bump. The ball wasn’t halfway there. Now we know this putt can get away from players. This is Kevin on 13. Looks good. Oh boy, have we seen some violent lip outs today. Oh, we’ve seen a handful of good shots here at the 14th. Typical wind direction. Whenever the pin is on the right half of this green, it is a much easier hole. And here he go. Well, you can just give him that just about 6 ft. Hopefully puts a good stroke on it. Oh wow. He is really in form with Justin Kiban. Yes. Can’t feel a breath of wind. Just the air is so still on the tea. That’s a high towering shot. And you might need to get the keys of that car out. Perilously close to a brand new Lexus for Justin Kiban. Okay, that’s one of the two he needs. Jack Thompson battling away bravely to try and make it through to the weekend. The older of the Brian brothers, this is George for Birdie on 13. Lovely effort there. for players like George at two underpar. Unfortunately, the cut line has just moved to three. What a shot. Wesley Bryan’s T-shot on 14. That’ll make the YouTube highlight reel. Lovely T-shot, Wesley. That had a really crisp nice sound to it. If we get some to it. Why not? Why not? Saran, that is a sublime effort on Friday. Slept on the lead after a 64. He backs it up with a round of 66. The ties the man to catch in Manila goes into the weekend at 14 under pass. Lovely finish Justin Kiban. Three Eagles in 36 holes, but he’ll certainly remember those closing three birdies for a round of 68. This is just dial it in. Hit a practice range little gap wedge or pitching wedge like you’ve done a million times. I’m saying inside 10 ft, folksy. You’re expecting to get it inside 10 feet. Fanned it just a hair like a foot and a couple of steps long, but a good shot. 98 yds. Come on, Pete. Oh, he’s coming. He’s coming. All right, that’s a lovely shot for Peter Uline for four in a row. Wesley Bryan on 17. Round and in it goes for Wesley Bryan. No start yesterday with a round of 73. But that’s some excellent golfing. You know, and as you’re playing, you get those days when nothing seems to be going correct. The scoring is difficult. But the main thing is on those days you just have to make sure you stay away from the bogeies if you can cuz the very next day you could find eight birdies. Why not Scotty? Great way to end a round of 69. Three underpower cut line still very much in jeopardy. But what is certainly beyond a shadow of a doubt the story of the day. Saritu. Thanks for watching Asian Tour on YouTube. Don’t forget to like and subscribe.
