Kai Trump may have just revealed a timeline the White House spent months attempting to control.
The 18-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump shared an Instagram carousel on Wednesday that initially appeared to be another influencer-style post promoting her clothing brand, bearing striking similarity to content from NFL star Travis Kelce. However, hidden within the selfies and throwback images was a photograph that verified Trump’s injured hand had been visible since November, weeks prior to his official White House comeback.
The image was originally shared on election night and depicts Kai and Donald celebrating at Mar-a-Lago as vote tallies rolled in. Trump’s right hand was clearly covered with what appeared to be poorly applied spray tan or heavy foundation masking purple discoloration around his knuckles.

Initially, the detail went unnoticed.
Following months of speculation, it appears the cosmetic cover-up was an early attempt to conceal an issue that would eventually become a significant talking point across cable news networks and health-focused websites. Trump discussed the bruising during a December 2024 TIME interview, attributing it to “shaking hands with thousands of people.”
Since that revelation, the hand has developed its own presence during campaign appearances. It makes appearances at rallies, particularly during fist-raising moments.
On golf courses, it grips clubs for swinging at balls, despite numerous opponents asserting that the president doesn’t compete in the sport with integrity. In July, the White House released a statement from Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, explaining that the bruising was “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and aspirin use.”

The physician observed that aspirin formed part of a “standard cardiovascular prevention regimen” and characterized the side effect as “benign and well known.”
The identical report tackled Trump’s swollen ankles and identified chronic venous insufficiency, a medical issue where veins struggle to pump blood back to the heart. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt reinforced the medical assessment later that month, maintaining that Trump stayed “in exceptional health.”
RadarOnline disclosed that insiders near the president claim he’s facing mobility challenges and have suggested that a hip replacement surgery could become necessary.
The publication reveals that his physical struggles at 79 are actually far worse “than he admits publicly.”

Regardless of his hand ailments, Trump has kept playing golf, frequently taking swings alongside Kai.
She regularly accompanies him with her camera and phone and even records herself playing on social media.
Kai has committed her athletic future to the University of Miami, where she will become part of the 2026 Hurricanes golf squad.
President Trump possesses 17 golf facilities worldwide, spanning from the US to Scotland, Dubai, and beyond.
His Doral resort facility in Miami is scheduled to accommodate a PGA Tour signature tournament with a $20 million prize pool next season.
