A new indoor golf lounge opened in Clay this week, giving Central New Yorkers a place to practice their swing year-round while enjoying cocktails and elevated pub fare.
Greenies Golf Lounge, which held its grand opening on Oct. 22, is owned by Brian and Erica Scott, who wanted to bring a concept popular in cities like Albany and Rochester to the Syracuse area.
“We had noticed this golf lounge in multiple places,” Erica Scott said. “We only had one place in Syracuse that had indoor simulators, but in Albany and Rochester, it’s huge. So that was how we kind of noticed the gap in the market, and we wanted to get in.”
Greenies Golf Lounge is located at 4595 Route 31, Suite 2, Clay, and is open seven days a week.
“You gotta be here when people want to come in,” said Erica Scott. “We actually offer additional hours for members so they can come in before and after regular operating hours.”
Both avid golfers, the couple designed Greenies to feel “excited and energetic” as well as give guests the “premium vibe of an upscale golf lounge,” Erica Scott said. They aimed to provide a place where players could enjoy golf anytime, no matter the weather or how packed their schedules were.
The facility features handcrafted cocktails, elevated pub-style food, and several golf simulators, including one premium bay with moving floor plates to simulate elevation changes and a laser system for putting accuracy.
Guests can book tee times by the hour, and members can access the lounge outside of regular business hours.

Each simulator comes loaded with Golfzon’s latest software, giving players access to more than 290 courses, with new courses added regularly.
Scott said Greenies aims to be more than just a golf spot.
“We want to be a place people can go to in the community, for locals or people traveling, to enjoy the great atmosphere and great food, and just have a spot to hang out,” she said.
