The Ryder Cup is only days away, but how do the formats work? Let me explain. Every two years, the Ryder Cup takes place in either Europe or America with 12 players representing each team. And the formats are split into three: Forsomes, four balls, and singles. First up, we have forsomes. And how does it work? Well, it’s an alternate shot format. So, if Roy Mroy and Turtle Hatton are playing Scotty Sheffler and JJ Spawn, one player from each team will tee off with the second player then hitting the next shot. They will then alternate until the ball is in the hole. Whichever team has the lowest score on that hole goes one up. If they both make the same score, the hole is halved. Each player will have their set TE’s they tee off on, whether it’s the odds or the evens. So, it doesn’t matter who holes out first on the previous hole. Unlike regular tour golf, there’s also no playoff hole. So, if the match is tied come the 18th hole, the match is then half with both teams getting half a point. Four balls. Maybe my favorite format of golf. Two teams of two going head-to-head with the best score from each team counting. So if Roy Mroy is with Hatton, Mroy makes a three, Hatton makes a four. You take Mroyy’s three versus the best score from the other team. And similar to Forsomes, the match can be halved, in which case both teams get half a point. Forsomes and FBS will play out over the Friday and Saturday with Sunday being the finale showpiece with 12 players going head-to-head in a straight shootout matchplay situation. Each match is worth a single point. So it means 12 points are up for grabs, which goes a long way to securing the 14 12 points out of 28 each team needs to win the cup. In a situation where both teams have 14 points, the team that won it the previous year then retains the Ryder Cup. Will the Seam Europe be able to win on American soil for the first time since the miracle at Madina? Well, have to tune in to find

USA!!! USA!!! 🇺🇸 🍺 🐊🌴
Long Island, NY is going to be easily the most rowdy crowd outside of LIV golf by far.
Please help with my math mate. Six alternate shot and six best ball. Plus 12 matches equals 24 points. Where do the other four points come from?
Thank you🎉
Thanks! Great explanation.
