OPENING TEE
Saint Francis women’s golf is set to wrap up its fall season at the Lehigh Invitational, Saturday and Sunday at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminister, N.J., where teams will play a round of 18 holes each day. Along with the host Red Flash, FDU, New Haven, Stonehill, Providence, Duquesne, Monmoth, Penn, Old Dominion, Fairfield, Rutgers New Brunswick, LaSalle, Merrimack, Saint Joseph’s, Navy, and host school, LeHigh, will all be making their way to the tee box. Five golfers will be taking the course for the Red Flash including McKenzie Gustas, Robbin Zetrouer, Bryn Sorge, Abigail McCorkell, and Camille Gagnon.
LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis hosted the Red Flash Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa. The Red Flash finished the invitational sixth place with a team score of 637. Senior, Gustas, led the way for Saint Francis at its home hosted event, the Red Flash Invitational, for the second day finishing in 15th place. After the two rounds, she carded a total score of 156, and marking a 78 both days. Gustas recorded nine pars and two birdies on Tuesday. Zetrouer recorded a 76 for the second round, totaling 157 for the invitational. The freshman tallied a total 17 pars and four birdies after completing all 36 holes. Also competing for the Red Flash are Sorge (31st place, 161), McCorkell (34th place, 83), Sophia Buday (53rd place, 162), Gagnon (38th place, 164), Meghan Zambruno (40th place, 165), and Sophia Buday (56th place, 194).
LAST TIME AT THIS EVENT
The last time Saint Francis made an appearance at this event was in 2024. The Red Flash finished out the final day in ninth place. McKenzie Gustas placed T11 at the Lehigh Invitational over the weekend. Gustas shot 81 on the last day for a total score of 157 (76, 81). The senior carded 11 pars in her final round, finishing with 20 pars and two birdies. Sorge (170, T37th place), Gagnon (173, T41th place), Zambruno (176, T44th place) and Anna Crumrine (176, T44th place) rounded out the Flash’s roster. Sorge improved her score by ten strokes from day one to day two. The sophomore carded one birdie (hole 6) and ten pars in the final round. She carded 16 total pars and one birdie in the two days. Gagnon had a birdie on number 15 and eight pars in the final round to finish with three birdies and 14 pars. Zambruno carded two birdies in her final round (holes two and 16) as well as four pars. The senior had three birdies and 13 pars overall. Crumrine had a birdie on hole nine and eight pars to round up the tournament with one birdie and 12 pars.

COACH CASCINO BACK ON DUTY
Cascino is in the fifth season of his third stint with the Red Flash and 13th overall. He was the women’s golf head coach from 2005-12, for the 2017 season, and 2020-current. Saint Francis was successful in his first go-around with the women’s golf program, leading the Red Flash to two consecutive Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships (2006 & 2007). In addition, he helped Saint Francis finish in the Top 3 of the conference postseasons in his first four seasons in Loretto. His son Lukas has joined the men’s golf team for the 2023-24 season.
