Hey guys, welcome back to Modern Golf. Hope you’re having a great day and even better week. Before I get started, I want to do a special shout out to all my guys in the UK and women as well as uh Europe. I really appreciate it. You guys are phenomenal with the comments. So, just want to kind of do a a real quick thank you for all your incredible feedback uh and the new subscribers in the UK as well. Today, we’re excited to talk about the True Linksware OG 3 Pro. What a name for a golf shoe. I want to talk about how they fit. Uh what do I think of zero drop? I’ve never worn a zero drop or minimal drop golf shoe in my life of 30 plus years playing. Comfort, durability, all those good things coming up next. So, if you haven’t heard of True Linkswear, uh Ryan Moore, who used to play in the PJ tour, started this brand a number of years ago. They could be on 10, 12 years already. I’m not exactly sure the year they were established. I’ll put that up as we go. But I reached out um during the PGA show. I saw all their stuff in person. And I kind of freaked out a little bit because I really like everything about True Links Wear from uh their skeleton logo to uh their aesthetic of their clothing and really their shoes. And the new shoes that they just launched outside of these are incredible. Uh hopefully I’ll pick up a pair of those and we’ll talk about those later down the road. But today it’s the OG 3 Pro. I picked them up in black. Again, these have zero drop. What do I think of all that stuff? So, first let’s talk about sizing as we always do. So, I’m a 9 and 1/2 in athletic shoe. I went with a 9 and 1/2 in these and they fit perfect. Um, I really really was surprised on how well these fit. We’re going to talk about uh the comfort and cushioning, all that stuff as we go. But go true to size. Uh, they do come I think it’s three or four colors. This, a white, a gray maybe, and another color way. I’ll put them all up as as I yap away. But so definitely go true to size. I didn’t find that these ran very wide. I find I found them to fit very true to size in the width as well. Not overly narrow, not overly wide. Um but very uh athletic shoe driven, I would say. So let’s do a quick tour of this shoe and I and then we’ll get out of here and you can go on your business and order some shoes. But so let’s talk about the outside of the shoe first. Um black and white. I like the aesthetic. It’s very cool. Has the true logo here. Also, their little T logo here. The vamp is very good uh to be laced up and I’ll explain. I was a little concerned early on when I got this shoe and when I tried it. Um again, again, as we turn this shoe around, very cool looking, very I want to say I would say very clean line looking. I I almost said plain, but very clean lines. Um again, not much going on here. Uh, a couple things that I really like and and I’ll put pictures up because it’s hard to see probably even with all these lights on me. The word true is in a different kind of font. Um, a little more shiny uh material. And then also the pull tab has this kind of rain looking uh waterproof on the pull tab which we really like. So that’s the aesthetics. If we look at the sole, um, this is their brand new sole. You can see I have worn these a number of times. Uh, I put pictures up. They may be before or after we wore them. Very comfortable sole, very grippy. Let’s get into kind of the heart of this shoe. So, zero drop. I’ve never worn a Zero Drop golf shoe ever, period. I don’t know if I’ve even tried one on until I got these and walked 18 holes, which is probably risky on my part. And then I played a couple times um nine holes here and there where I’ve walked and also taken a cart or a push cart. So, let’s talk about first thing first. We talked about sizing. Let’s talk about comfort. very comfortable. I will tell you one thing and and it I was a little concerned early on when I first put this the shoe on my right foot. There felt like there was something in the shoe and it’s just the way this tongue comes together and this vamp comes together to kind of close up. It was kind of pinching the top of my foot a little bit and I said, “Oh man, what did I do?” 10 seconds later, 30 seconds later, Max, that pain and all that issue was completely gone. So, it’s not something to be concerned with, but I wanted to let you know because if it happens to you, I don’t want you to be like, “Oh, these shoes are awful.” Literally, once they broke it, I may maybe I took six or seven steps and it was totally gone. And again, I walked. Stupid me. I walked the first time I wore these. Very good comfort. Uh, again, we talked about true to size, waterproof warranty. The other thing I wanted to talk about was what is the Zero Drop like? What does it feel like for a golfer if you haven’t played it before? My experiences are are really two things. One, this the shoe still has cushion. So, I think the analogy and I think what a lot of us think about when we get a zero drop, especially golf shoe that like we’re literally walking on like stiff material, it’s not um I was really surprised on how comfortable they were and how cushiony they were. The other thing that I was really surprised with and really kind of took me for a loop was how connected I felt to the ground. And maybe for the first time ever where I I really felt like I I could literally feel like my heels and and and really forefoot dig into the the ground. Not dig into my shoe, but literally dig in um to the ground. So, it’s kind of a neat uh exper experience for me because again, I’ve never worn these. Um but overall, very very comfortable. Uh very durable so far. You can see very minimal and these have and I’ll put pictures up but I think four rounds on these now very comfortable kind of a natural and they’ll say engineered uh for natural movement. I I did not have any issues with these and didn’t have any fatigue. Now I will tell you walking 18 holes was stupid on my part. I should not have done that. Uh but I had no issues. No blisters, no foot fatigue, anything. Really comfortable golf shoe. The one thing I also want to show you that I really like that I think super cool and this is kind of the trend I think lately um and maybe True Links were is one of the first is when you get when you buy shoes from them they come in a container or packaging that looks like this that turns into basically a shoe bag. Again, it shows you the OG 3 Pro pro black. I’m a nine and a half. It’s a European 43. Um, some of the specs is, uh, they also make an they’re known for, uh, an extra wide toe box. It doesn’t mean you have an extra wide foot, but it gives you a little extra wide, um, platform, so you can really be stable, which I liked. Um, it also says it’s kind of a barefoot feel, which I really liked. And again, zero drop. I believe these retail for $1.99. I’ll I’ll I I’ll confirm and I’ll put this up here as well. Um, but again, if you’re timid or if you’re a little afraid, a little nervous, and I was I’m not I’m not not going to lie, I’ve never worn a zero drop shoe. And I thought this could be a nightmare. And and to be so candid, I will be honest with you. Um, I had another pair of golf shoes in my car in case these didn’t make it through nine holes. I didn’t need it. Never had looked back. But really, really good shoes. I would say if you’re concerned, don’t be concerned. Uh, overall really, really solid golf shoes. And again, my first ever wearing of True Link of the shoe variety. Um, and really have enjoyed these. Uh, again, if you have any questions, let us know. Really solid shoes, really good golf shoes, very comfortable, and again, dummy me walks in 18 holes when I first get them. The traction was fantastic. The fit was really good, the the comfortability was really good, and the cushioning, uh, which I think kind of surprised me, is really, really good in these. So anyway guys, hope you like this kind of quick review of the True Links OG Pro 3, I think these are called. Yeah, OG3 Pro. I I apologize. Um really solid shoes if you’re looking for that kind of barefoot kind of feel. Um or even if you’re not, uh they have some really great shoes. This is, like I said, has cushion it. Don’t feel like you’re going to buy them and, you know, strap on center blocks to your feet. Really good shoes. Again, number of colorways. Highly recommend these. I’ll put the waterproof warranty up somewhere as we talk. Um, but really highly recommend these and again, we’re looking to forward to seeing how these do uh for the rest of the year. So anyway guys, hope you had a great day. Uh, if you have any questions, let us know and we’ll catch up with you next time. Thanks guys. [Music]

  1. Have you reviewed the mesh True models, i want them bad but for such a light weight shoe theyre still really pricey. These look awesome but i want something for those hot humid rounds thats way more breathable than the 5/6 pairs i currently own. Very interesting and now im curious to see about their zero drop models which i wouldn’t have ever considered, but maybe can generate a tiny bit more power from the ground up, hearing your comments on them. Especially being cushioned and not like a barefoot style shoe

  2. Solid shoes, on the OG3 I don’t like how the tongue of the shoe rubs my ankle/shin… but a lot of their shoes are fire!!!

  3. Question – great review by the way — what about actually the feel of hitting in these? I got a pair and returned before going to course, but they felt like Ronald McDonald clown shoes when I swung on carpet in living room, the wide toe box was nice, but seem like too much "volume" in the toe area — so swing felt a bit unnatural and my feet seemed/looked so big in them (I do wear a size 12) — on the other hand, maybe I needed to give them more time (I am used to zero drop shoes, as I always wear vibram "fivefingers" toe shoes walking, 1000's of miles walked in them.)
