I would heat a screwdriver head up just a little bit and put it in the middle portion to put a little bit of a groove in there and then use that to try and remove it.

Needle nose pliers… you can’t get that out easily. I’ve had to do this a few times.

I used vise grips to remove a couple of worn and very stuck spikes.

Soak the bottom of the shoe in hot water. Sometimes mud will dry up in the bottom and act like glue. The hot water will loosen up any mud. Then use pliers.
