Golf tournaments at two Hampshire clubs have raised thousands for a Southampton cardiac charity.

The events, organised by Heartbeat at South Winchester and Corhampton golf clubs, raised £21,250 to support cardiac patients and their families across the Wessex region and beyond.

Local businesses, supporters and golf enthusiasts united for two days of friendly competition and fundraising.

The South Winchester event concluded with Hobbs the Printers as winners, and Hi-Acre and Gallagher Insurance placing second and third, respectively.

At Corhampton, Brown & Brown Insurance Brokers clinched victory, with Heartbeat Hackers and Nick Warner Team as runners-up.

Patrick McCarthy, Heartbeat’s events and corporate fundraising co-Ordinator, said: “Our golf days are always great fun and we see such amazing enthusiasm out on the greens.”

Tina Richardson, head of operations at Heartbeat, said: “The funds we raise through these events go towards delivering vital services for cardiac patients and their loved ones, helping them get through what is often a hugely challenging time.”
