The first day of the Hanoa Life Plus International Crown is done. And even though we still have a lot of golf left, Thursday here in Korea did not disappoint. So, let’s run it back. I’m Hope Barnett and you’re watching LPGA Now, presented by Surfpro. Let’s get into it. Just a reminder, there are two pools with four teams in each pool. Every team will play one another, which will determine who advances to the semis and finals matches on Sunday. The first two matches of the day were between the newly formed world team and team Japan. Charlie Hull and Lydia Co took on Miu Yamasha and Rio Taka where they ended in a tie, but it was a battle from the world team to get their half points. Japan are one up at this point. They battled back from being two down and Lydia did this on 18 to tie the match. Could she Lydia Of course she did. Whailing she and Brooke Henderson gained a full point with their win over Ayaka Furu and Maigo. Okay, so two holes won in a row. We’re so happy to get the win today. Um especially we are three down at one point. Um so to come back I feel like uh just really means a lot to us and it’s good momentum going to tomorrow. And you made those two putts on 16 and 17. How good did that feel to make those for you and Brooke? Well, it’s definitely amazing. I mean, that was really long part on 16 and actually we are almost on the same line. I was like making sure I gave broke a good line, you know. So, I was like, “Okay, just nice and steady, not being too aggressive and ended up dropping in.” I was like, “Oh, yay.” She said, “Did I give you a good line?” I was like, “Yes.” Thailand and the Aussies fought in the finals in 2023. And on Thursday, they had a little rematch. Thailand gained a point and so did Australia. The world number one Gino Titakun and Padrian Rukhorn defeated Hannah Green and Grace Kim. Win the hole and go one up for Gino. Yeah. Mji Lee and Steph Curios won their match up. Can reply the short par4 down the hill. Oh, they did. Throwing darts uphill. Third shot from 103 yards for Kiryaku. Korea is on home soil and it shows with this duo. Kyoju Kim and Hedge and Choy did not hold back winning their match against Sweden 3 and2. Well, the conditions may be different, but the results so far are pretty similar. While the other match Korea played in ended in a tie with Ginyong Co and Hayonu against Ingred Lindblad and Maline Sagstrom. Oh, a huge one for Iggy. I mean, this is match play deluxe right here, isn’t it? And she knows it. And last, but certainly not least, the matchups between America and China. Yimino and Angel Yin put on a clinic, winning their duel 5 and four. Little chip from the back. Oh, and right on Q, Angel Yen. Her sixth birdie of the day. Between the two of them, they had 11 birdies in 14 holes. And a fitting way to do it. Better late than never for Yulini added. And USA was the only team to walk away with two points with the final match of the day ending in a win thanks to Lilia Vu and Lauren Coglin. They went all the way to 18 to walk away with the dub. So, as it stands, USA leads pool A with two points, while Korea and the world team lead the charge in pool B with one and a half points each. Be sure to tune in and watch on Golf Channel, and come back right here to check out LPGA Now, presented by SurfPro.

  1. Whoa, I didn't realize that Brooke and Weiling were down 3 at one point. That's quite a turnaround against a couple major champs in Ayaka and Mao.
