I feel like I need a new wedge, so many awkward yardages in the 80-140 range. Any recommendations?

I also need to learn to hit my wedges better, I feel like my 56 should go further for my swing speed but that’s beside the point

No one hits full wedge shots. Get a wedge system like the clock system and a lob wedge for shots under 90 yards.

  2. 54 and 58. 54 would help the gapping you’re talking about. 58 for around the greens.

You need another wedge. Look at the lofts of your GW and pick something in between

  4. You shouldn’t really be hitting a 56 fully. I’m guessing your gap wedge is 48-49 so you should consider a 52 and a 60.

Once you’re inside 100 nothing is a full wedge shot. You’ve gotta learn to hit parts of wedges. Half swing, three quarters swing, high, low, etc. if you can get off the tee well, a good wedge system is the next thing to hone in on skill wise.

  6. What are your PW and GW lofts?

    I’d consider a 54 SW, 58/60 LW combo

I have similar distance profile. I have 52 and 60 to fill gaps.

Your numbers are fairly close to mine. I use a 52;and based on this I think it will get you 115, + or – 5 yards. Try it out in store and see.

Forget wedges there’s a 55 yard gap between 3w and driver

Spend time choking up 1-1.5″ and see what a full swing does with each wedge…then replicate with 3/4 swings, and 1/2 swings, you will find it, just takes time. Your 56 shouldn’t go very far, that’s not what it’s designed for.

You also have 12 clubs in the bag (assuming you have a putter, lol), maybe add one more.

What degrees are your PW and GW? 15 yards feels like a big gap between those two clubs. Mine is only 10 with a 45 degree PW and a 49 degree AW

  12. Add a 60 degree lob wedge and then develope the ability to hit any yardage between 15 to 125 yards in 10 yard increments using one of the 4 wedges.

Sets like this when ppl dont have 3 and 4 iron usually have cooked the lofts in the lower irons causing this issue. Its likely your lofts are stronger in the lower irons and this creates the issue. 56° looks ok..but there are only 12 clubs with putter included.. So you could add 2 more wedges to fill in the rest. Hnestly the bigger issue IMO is the distance between the 3W and Driver. The 3w only going 230 is weird and weak… It should go 250 (at miimum given your other distances). A 5w should go 230. wouldprefer to see a 52 degreein the set vs a 56.
