Rosapenna Golf Resort Sandy Hills Links | Golf Ireland
Well, good morning. Welcome to day number four of my golf trip to Dunnyall, Ireland. Back at Rossapenna Resort this morning playing the Sandy Hills Golf Course. And I am very excited. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this golf course. If you didn’t catch my video from yesterday, I played their other golf course, St. Patrick’s Links, ranked in the top 100. You definitely want to go check that one out cuz it was stunning. Starting off, I’m here on the third hole, par three, 155 yards. And as far as I can tell, I’m the first person out on the golf course this morning. I had a nine o’clock tea time, but I’m not sure anybody’s in front of me. So, I am playing a single one ball. I’m going to show you some great videos here of the holes and the beauty and the and the surroundings just like I have done with my other videos. So, I hope you like this video. Stay with me. If you ever played here, give me a comment. Tell me what you think. Well, I hope my golf improves today over yesterday. I had a good back nine yesterday. Front nine was really bad. Oh, that’s right at it. Well, there was a good shot. All right, let’s go play some golf. Well, all right. I’m going to video this putt because I haven’t made a birdie yet. in Ireland. And we may be witnessing my first birdie. But also, hope you can see that rainbow back there over the little town of Downings. That’s where I’m staying. Going to do a video about Downings this afternoon. What a great little town. All right, this breaks a little to the left. Nope. knew it as soon as I hit it. But I’ll take that tap in par. What views this golf course, this resort, just sitting right on Downing’s Bay. Atlantic Ocean is just right out there. You just got incredible views the whole time you’re playing. Not only are you playing great golf courses with great holes, but the scenery is just fantastic. Well, here I am on the fourth hole. 341 yards. Now, I’m playing the blue TE’s today, which says on the card that it’s 6,300. They have a set of black set of T’s, but I haven’t seen them yet. So, this one right here is showing that this is the blue and the black. So, I think there’s a combination. I think there’s going to be some holes that there will be a separate tee on that’s farther back, but I’m just going to stick with the blues today. No need to beat myself up. But again, look at this place. How can you not like this when you come over here? This is incredible. [Music] H right down the pipe. Well, it doesn’t get more in the middle of the fairway than this one. I want to give you a little advice because this has affects me when I’m coming here and playing. the dunes kind of affect you. You start thinking that everything is very narrow and everything is very pinched in because it looks that way. And so you get yourself a little tense and nervous. But what you got to understand, fairways are wide. I mean, there was plenty of room out here. Now, if I had missed it over there to the right, I was in trouble. But you’ve got room. So, you have to just stay focused on your target. And like I say all the time, even if you hit a bad one, look where you’re hitting a bad one. This place is beautiful. God, right at it again. We may have another chance at a birdie. Oh man, I way over clubbed on that one. Very long. Now I was thinking birdie in the fairway. [Music] Now I’m trying to make par. Hold your line. Hold your line. Ah. All right, made par. Well, I’m around on the 11th hole. Really nice looking par three. Just all the dunes in the middle. That green sitting up over there. Really nice look here. This golf course has really used the dunes very well. Um, Sandy Hills is a great name. There is a lot of up and down. And as you can tell, I got the rain pants on. I got wet back two, three holes ago, so everything’s a little bit damp right now, but it looks like it’s cleared up. Let’s see if I can get myself into 18. Golf game has been a little shaky, especially in that rain. 182 yards. Golly, I hit that to the back of the green. I thought I was going to have to kill that to get it there. Well, here we go. Well, this is my longest putt so far. This one is a ridiculous. I can’t believe I hit that ball back here so far. This is a lot of hit and hope right here. Oh, stop. Oh no. Oh no. Stop. Oh, that almost rolled off the front of the green. If that had rolled off the front of the green, I would have gone 50 yards down a hill. Oh, I didn’t hit that one. Golly, that’s awful. Well, even when you do some bad things on the golf course, my chances of two putting that were next to none. Look at this view back here. I mean, I just get amazed every single time that I’m on these golf courses that that is natural. That it’s not I mean, that that’s just what the landscape looks like here. And then look over here at the rainbow. That’s like the fourth rainbow I’ve seen since I’ve been here. You know what that means? That means it’s been raining a bunch. Well, there’s Sandy Hills. I’m on the 18th T. I’m going to wrap it up right here. Beautiful, beautiful golf course. Well worth your efforts to play here. Um, too bad my golf game let me down, but I still had a great time. Thanks so much to Ross Aenna for allowing me to play. Um, and folks, if you get to this area, you want to take a trip, think about Dunning Eagle. Downings back there behind me has been fantastic. I’m getting ready to go make a video about the town here in a second. So, thanks a lot and I’ll see y’all in the next next
The Sandy Hills Links at Rosapenna Golf resort was my 4th course on my solo golf trip to Ireland. I played 9 golf courses in County Donegal. Come along and take a look at this beautiful links golf course on Irelands Wild Atlantic Way.
