President Trump’s $300 million White House demolition is benefiting a local golf course.

The President of the United States announced on Truth Social, his social media platform, that he is demolishing the East Wing of the White House, in order to build a new ballroom. President Trump announced the construction news while welcoming college baseball’s national title-winning teams at the White House.

“Right on the other side, you have a lot of construction going on, which you might hear periodically,” the president said.

President Trump pledged that construction will not interfere with normal operations at the White House.

“I am pleased to announce that ground has been broken on the White House grounds to build the new, big, beautiful White House Ballroom. Completely separate from the White House itself, the East Wing is being fully modernized as part of this process, and will be more beautiful than ever when it is complete! For more than 150 years, every President has dreamt about having a Ballroom at the White House to accommodate people for grand parties, State Visits, etc. I am honored to be the first President to finally get this much-needed project underway — with zero cost to the American Taxpayer! The White House Ballroom is being privately funded by many generous Patriots, Great American Companies, and, yours truly. This Ballroom will be happily used for Generations to come!” he announced.

According to a report from a Washington, D.C. reporter, the demolition that is going on at the White House is actually benefiting a local golf course.

“A… scoop? Multiple workers tell me that dirt from the demolition of the East Wing of the White House (to make way for Trump’s new $200 million ballroom) is being trucked to the north end of the Hains Point golf course. It will then be used to create new terrain on the course,” Martin Austermuhle reported.

Does President Trump own that course?

No, he does not.

Hains Point Golf Course, otherwise known as East Potomac Golf Course, is a public course located on the Hains Point Island in Washington, D.C.

“East Potomac Golf Links is located in East Potomac Park on the Hains Point Island in Washington, D.C. With the Potomac River on one side and the Washington Channel on the other, the entire course offers unique views of both DC and Northern Virginia. The nation’s first Cherry Blossoms can also be found at the course,” the course writes.

“East Potomac Golf Links offers two 9-hole courses (Par 27 & Par 36), one 18-hole course (Par 72), a fully stocked golf shop, miniature golf, foot golf, food & drinks at the Potomac Grille, three practice holes, and a driving range. Learn more about each of these facilities below.”
