We’ve been given exclusive access to the host venue of the 2027 Ryder Cup – Adare Manor.
I’m joined by Andy McMahon, Director of Golf Operations, as we take on some of the toughest and most spectacular holes at this breathtaking course.
Andy knows every inch of Adare Manor, from how it’s set up to what will truly test the world’s best in two years’ time. From the stunning opening tee shot to the brutal closing stretch, we’ll explore the holes that could define the 2027 Ryder Cup – and why many are calling Adare Manor the “Augusta of Ireland.”
Huge thanks to the DP World Tour for making this possible.

[Music] Very good advice there from Andy. Welcome back to On the Road with Iona. I am delighted to say today we are at Adair Manor, the host to the 2027 RDER Cup and the director of golf, Andy McMahan, has come to join me today. Andy, thank you so much for taking the time to come and show us around the five toughest holes. Where have you brought us first? We’re starting on the ninth uh par five. Uh huge wide fairway. However, as we get up towards the green, you’re going to see the protection is all in the surrounds. And uh 633 yds from the the back tea. We’re going to play it uh from about 570 today. Okay, guys. Strap in. This is going to be an absolute treat. It’s a par five, which we always like to start with, but it’s a bit of a beast. There’s bunkers everywhere to be seen and it looks like it pinches between these two, the one on the right and the one on the left. Yeah, the the important thing is to carry the right hand bunker. Okay. Um as long as we carry the right hand bunker, there is a bit more room in the right than you first think. A great line is the uh the tower on the manor in the distance. That would be the perfect line down. The good news is we’ve got a bit of helping wind with us right now. So that’s going to help us because it’s very early in the morning right now. All right, Andy, lead us off. Oh yes, he has been here before folks. He has been here before. That is a peach. Okay. Right. A little cruisy one for Iona. Run it up. Get right of that. Oh, it’s over it. Wof and we are off. Got my coffee. As I say, it’s very early in the morning, but the Rider Cup is coming here to Adair Manor in 2027. You might not know a lot about Adair Manor right now, but believe you me, in in the next couple of years, you’re going to be hearing a lot more about this place and just quite how special it is. So, when did a dare find out they were going to get the RDER Cup? Oh, it was uh precoid. Um, as I say, back in 2019, I believe, um, we were obviously delighted. Um, we were at that point looking forward to our JP Mcmanis Pro in 2020. Yep. When we were going to get to to showcase it to all the top pros. Um, co put that back to 2022, but um, hugely successful event. It was great to see Tiger, Rory, Brooks, and, uh, Podrick, Shane, all Irish boys. It was great to see them all out here and playing under relaxed tournament conditions. Yeah. And yeah, you know, listening to the feedback, looking at where they head to. Uhhuh. Uh and seeing what tweaks were required. Brilliant. Thanks for watching on the road with Iona. And if you want to come and join our inside the ropes community, then you’ll get the chance to have a sneak peek at my bedroom where I’m staying in a dare manner. It’s one of the most beautiful suites and without doubt one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. So come across and join us. Just take a look at these fairways. They are immaculate. There is not a blade of grass out of place. This whole place I feel like I’ve sort of died and gone to golfing heaven. Right, I need a bit of help here from Andy. What we looking at here? Okay, we’ve got uh about still about 300 to the green. Um the one thing we’ve got to avoid is that bunker that’s short right that leaves a horrible bunker shot. Um, you would probably want to be something along kind of hybrid. Yeah, I was thinking a we hybrid. Just thinking about when the guys get here in 2027. So, this bunker is going to be in play for them. Yeah, there’s obviously a lot more room down the right hand side than you, as you said, on the tea. Um, but will they grow the rough up, do you think? How do you think? How do you think they’re going to set it up? We are going to grow the rough up and we’re actually going to we’re going to change the grass that’s on the fairways and the rough to an American rye from what is a European rye just now really. And the idea is that we’ll be able to grow the rough longer and the ball will sit down a little bit more and it’ll give more flexibility to the captain if he wants to bring the fairways in or or widen it. But you would expect it be a little bit uh narrower than it is today. Okay. Well, I’m very glad it’s not narrower for us today. We’re just doing the preview of course. Right. Little hybrid for me. Still a bit of help in the air. Just going to hug the left. See where this ends up. Go, go, go, go, go. Perfect there. All right. It’s not my best, but it’s going to give me something. One of the big things is the the approaches. The approaches are A4 bent grass, right? So, they’re they’re cut downs fast as well. They would they could stmp at kind of nine on the st. Just the approaches. Wow. So, great. If you’re looking for distance, you can really use the the approaches to your advantage. Uh-huh. But you really never want to be long around here. No, you always want to be to be short. Okay. Good advice. Good tips. Do you think it’s reachable or? Uh, not today, I don’t think. It’s a little bit of a nip in the air today. It’s chilly. I can see a bit of blue sky on the horizon that might break through later on for us. Beauty. Oh, it’s a lovely golf shot that. Yeah, really nice place. How often do you get out to play here, Andy? Uh, if I go out once a Fortnite, I’ll be quite happy. Okay. Um, I just, uh, again, as we say in the tea, the the approach here, yeah, it’s such a an upturn basin. Huge runoffs, especially to the right and to the back. Um, you definitely don’t want to leave yourself that kind of 30 30 yard chip is pretty pretty tough around there. Being back is is not a bad thing. Some people say this is been purpose built for a rider cup. Yeah. Is there truth behind that? Um maybe with huge tournaments in mind would probably be a definitely a good way of putting it. Yeah. Um we’re we’re 840 acres here, so we’re the same size as um High Park. Um so huge huge space for grandstands, huge space for hospitality. Yeah. And uh yeah, you can definitely feel like it was it’s walking out here. You can just picture it now. You can see the grand stands. You can see where they would go. And it it always has that feeling especially for example this whole uh 15 in particular. It does always feel like someone’s watching you with the manor imposing in the background. So, it does feel like someone’s waking up this morning and watching your approach. I read that there are 365 windows on the manor house. Yeah. Seven seven pillars. You’re going to test me now. And 52 chimneys. And that’s from the days of the week, the weeks of the year, and seven days of the week. Yeah. I like that. It’s quite playful from the architect. I’m not going to correct you on that either because it was close. It was close enough, was it? Oh no. Which bit did I get wrong? 365 windows. Windows definitely right. The stained glass windows. 365 windows. Seven pillars and 52 chimneys. Is that right? 54. No. 52 chimneys. Is it 54 chimneys? 52. 52 chimney. The weeks of the year. Yeah. Yeah. There we go. I’ve got it. A calendar house. That’s it. That’s very clever. 152. That pen’s tucked in the left. Um, but short, if you’re in between, just one club short, it will bounce up off the A4. How much room is there in front of that? Don’t go, don’t go long. Short is good. Short is good. It will bounce up the A4. 15 short, you’ll still be putting. Okay, that’s an eight then [Music] left. Stay there. Just clipped it. Where’d that go? Just clipped it. Just three. Yeah, just down. Yeah. Oh, I’m going to be chipping, scrambling already at the opener. It’s the warm-up hole, right? You get a warm up hole, the rider cup. Absolutely. So, this winter, we’ve done all the all the surrounds in the bunkers. New sand. Okay. Sand from Donnie Gaul. Oh, very nice. Um, I say lovely lovely color and certainly feedback so far has been very positive. They look gorgeous. I will say that. They look very sharp. This is looking good. Yes. Very nice. Got a pot for birdie. Everyone don’t need to chip. That’s good. Suppose we’re both from Scotland. We can’t even play a really rival match. We’re definitely on the same team. My ball has clicked the tree and dropped. So beware the tree on the ninth. This definitely sort of makes the entrance to this green much narrower. You’ve got a bunker in play there as well. It’s a silly miss really because there’s a lot of room right of this flag. But bit greedy early in the morning and now I’m going to have to produce something very clever. How would you suggest I play this one? Um, it eats in a little bit on the left hand side as you can see. Again, you’ve only got maybe eight paces past the pin. Yeah. Um, and then there’s a really steep slope. So again, leaving yourself an uphill putt short of the flag. Giving myself a really horrible angle here. And like so many of the great golf courses, you’ve you’ve got to give yourself the angle and plot your way around like a game of chess. And that is not what I’ve done. Right. Go, go, go. That was beauty. Thanks. Perfect. Once again, these greens immaculate. Immaculate condition. How’ you like the flag, Andy? Uh, just out. It’s good. Yep. Good eyesight. Let’s go. Needs to hurry. That’s why I use a brim handle. That was a long way up the hill there. This really is a a match we’ve got on our hands here. And I’ve got a little bit of uh left to right here. Actually, quite a lot. That was naughty. That was very naughty. Thank you. It’s a bogey to start my day here, but it’s impossible to be in a bad mood at a dare manner. Oh, it’s a beautiful road. Hard lines. Half. Good half. Our day is underway. That is hole one of the five toughest holes here at Adair Manor. Andy, what’s next? So, 13th hole. Um, narrower than than our previous fairway slopes from right to left. So, you’ve got to take a chance with the bunker in the right hand side. If you play too safe, you can really kick down into the trees and obscure your your second shot. 250 off this te to carry the the right bunker. Um, again, if you’re going back to the the very back, you’re talking about 300 yards to carry the the right hand bunker. So, that’s where the boys will be back there. That’s where the boys will be. And it’s actually probably interesting is that it’s the only hole in the golf course where you don’t really see your ball land. So, it’s the only one that’s over a dip. So, I know with a lot of the links courses, you won’t see the ball land, but around here, you can generally see your ball lying on the fairway if you if you had a good one. It’s amazing how forcehortened that bunker on the right hand side is. It looks so close, but as you say, it’s 250 to carry it, so it’s not very close. No. And it it frames it really well, but it’s the color as well. It’s so bright that it just looks like it’s a little bit closer than it uh than it is. Yeah. It was I think it was Rory Mroy that said this he described this golf course as Parkland perfection, and I can see why now. Yeah. Right. Lead us off. That is Have you been grinding on the range this morning, Andy? You’re welcome. Anytime. That is an absolute delight. Very well played. All right. Just exactly where you played that would be nice. Go B. That is down the right path. Could be bunker trouble for me, I’m afraid. [Applause] Okay, I am in the bunker. this sneaky little bunker down the right hand side. Again, kind of pinches in landing zone depending what tea you’re on, depending on how they’ve set the golf course up. Right now, today, as Andy said, the rough isn’t too thick. So, if you do miss it offline, you’ve still generally got a shot. But that will not be the case come 2027 and just listen to the sounds out here. You really feel like you’re just submerged in the countryside, which we love on the golf course. 180 yards. 182 playing about 20 shorter to get to the front right. 20 shorter. So 80 70 60 reckon a five. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Five. Art. And it is. Great effort. Go. Great effort. Well, ball above my feet. It was always going to move from right to left. And I’m going to have a we chip on my hands. All right, that’s a cracker. Cheers. Good chances for you here. I I can I smell a we birdie on the cards. The pin’s tucked. Yeah, it’s tucked. That’s a bit of a sucker pin that you upset the green keepers by coming out too early. He’s taking it on. I love this. Yes. Brilliant. Right over the flag stick. Chances for birdie. When did the golf course first arrive here? So the original Robert Trent Jones course uh was here and then we literally closed uh 2016 reopened in 2018 in April 2018. So uh Tom Fazio and his team came in right done a full redesign and what started off as a I believe a bunker project was the original plan. Uh-huh. Um then grew legs and um we’re really lucky in our ownership and Mr. McManus and his family and uh some input from from a lot of tour pros and uh and as I say, uh Tom Fazio came up with just a brilliant layout. He kept the original Robert Trent Jones senior routting. Okay, so the rooting of the golf course is the same. Apart from that, the undulations that been created um it certainly plays wider now. It certainly plays a little bit friendlier, right? Um, and it kind of gives you something that complements the links courses. You know, you’re you’re it’s pretty generous off the tea. Um, but again, just as we’re going to experience the the approaches and the runoffs are at its defense. It certainly certainly are. This is position zed, I would say, with this whole location today. Cut on the left hand side. I’ve missed it left completely short-sided myself out the rough. This is just not where you want to be. And it, you know, it’s a lot when you think about the sort of the aesthetic of this golf course alone is very intimidating because it’s so pure. It’s so good. Then you think, well, the RDER Cup’s coming here and you think of all the great players who have already come here to play and you do feel the occasion. But as Sir Alex Ferguson once said, play the game, not the occasion. And I need to take some of his advice. Could bump something into the hill here, but obviously I’m not going to do the sensible thing. Sit. Sit. Just had to take my medicine. That seems to be the theme of the day so far for me anyway. Where’s that gone? You are joking. Thought I was being very sensible there. Again, it’s the length of the green is so long and the width of the green is so narrow from that angle. Oh my goodness. Where did that pitch? Your pitch was just about pin high. Your pitch wasn’t far safer. Absolutely brutal. Coming out the coming out the ry grass. Just coming out that tiny little bit of longer grass. I’m just going to pace this from side to side. One, two, three, four, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12 paces where this green pinches. And that has got me in all kinds of trouble. can make a bit of a fool out of me this hole. Right. What’s What’s she going to do now? I think I’m going to have to get the putter on this. Maybe maybe we bump and run. Huh. Think I’m going to putt this. That just shows you how quickly this course can bite you. It’s a very stern test of golf. So, I’ve played my two. This is my fourth now. Back up the hill. Go. Had to give that a bit more well. Thankfully, it’s not coming back to me. How do you want it? I’ll just have it away. Thanks. So, I’ve gone one, two, three, four. Got a monster putt now for bogey. Right down the hill. It’s quite difficult to read because feel like it’s coming off that slope a little bit, but my eyes telling me overall it’s going to be left to right. The the brakes are very subtle. It does tend the putts do tend to run a little bit straighter than you think. We both saw that on on nine. Yeah, they both stayed in the high side. Okay. I mean, I’ll take this just outside the left, I think. Yeah. Good fun. Thanks. Didn’t come back the way I thought it might, but And that is why we’re calling these the five toughest holes. Come on then, Andy. Show us how it’s done. Well, don’t leave it. Get there. Get there. Don’t leave it sharp. That’s fine for me. How tentative. Far. Yeah. Well, I can understand why. This is a frighteningly quick green that pinches in the middle and has scared me away for another day. Andy, the 15th hole. This looks like a weed peach. Yeah, it’s a driveal par4. Probably probably the best birdie chance in the entire golf course. Definitely risk a reward. You see the uh the river on the right hand side here. Um that flows straight into the into the Shannon, straight into the Atlantic, straight to our friends America, right? Um but yeah, the bailout is left. There’s a big bunker left to the green. It does leave yourself a hard chip. So if you’re going to go for it, commit. Use the A4 approach. again 280 from the tea we’re playing today. Need to carry it 260. You’d have a good chance of being up on the dance floor. Okay. Well, I’d say into we’ve got we’re into the wind. Uh so chances of me getting up in that front edge are probably out today. Although it’s settled just there now, but I’m definitely going to take this on. I’ve had enough hard chips today. I don’t want any more. So, I’m going straight at this. But please lead the way. Okay. And I definitely need a wee birdie. It’s birdie time. It’s another one right out the screws. Ah, where’s that? Bounce west. It could be in the green side bunker. Got a we kick there, but it’s another lovely strike. Hopefully just shot. You got that ball on a string. Right. Definitely. It feels like the wind’s just switched there. Yeah, it’s definitely hurting a little bit. Good line. Yeah, it’s a good line. Go a little. Thank you. It’s up there somewhere. Better go and find it. I refuse to walk off the 15th Ard Manor without a birdie. Five baby swans, little signets. Brilliant view just to see it. It’s such a it’s such a magnificent building. Yeah, it’s it’s such an imposing building as I say, especially the um the newer part as we’re walking up here. It’s five floors high. Um it does feel a does feel like you’re a bit in a football stadium. Yeah, you are always looking up to see if anyone’s anyone’s watching. Uhhuh. Both teams presumably. I think there’s 103 rooms in there. So, enough to house the teams and a few extra. Yeah, absolutely. And uh yeah, that’s the thing. It’s a It’s a huge resort and we It’s great that we can accommodate that kind of size, you know. Um maybe not the the size of a a Glenn Eagles, but uh certainly compared to some previous venues, it’s it’s nice to have the players close. Definitely. 86. 86. That pin’s a long way back. 86. Quite a lot of heart today. 86. Playing 90, I would say. Is that Is it a two-tier green? Uh, no. It’s It wouldn’t be as much as a tear, but definitely a a significant slope. Um, yeah, there’s there’s a bit of room behind and it will slope back towards the pin behind as well. Okay. Get left a little bit. It’s a good line. That could be good. That could be good. Oh, lord. That was more like it. Right. You’re in big trouble now, Andy. Found my swing. It’s happened. Half hour. Half hour. Glad my golf game arrived at some point. Definitely felt the occasion of the first couple of holes. And I tell you what, this honestly, this place is taking my breath away. There are few places that have impressed me quite this much. Crowd go wild. Oh, it’s getting better. Oh, excellent. I did tell you I wanted a birdie here. You don’t even need the power. Thank you. Do you want me to get that out your way? I’d love to be that close. I don’t think it was a problem. It’s a beauty. Go on. Oh, it’s a great shot. Cheers. It’s a brilliant shot. What a response from the Scotland B team. I tell you what, it looks like good good to me. She says that confidently now realizing you’ve hit it an inch closer. I’m very happy to go. Good. Good. If you are good, good, good. Bring my putter. But I just want to I just want to take in this view for a moment because it really is amazing with the castle there. Yeah, you’ve got the old house. Um I say the gallery imposing in and it’s great. There’s so many hotel rooms have a view of the golf course, you know. So, um, yeah, it’s a it’s a beautiful building. Always referred to as a house, um, rather than a castle. And a castle. Yeah. Houses are built for love and castles are built for war. Okay. So, yeah, always referred to as a house. It’s the house. The manor house. I love it. What a place to stand. Very good. Many people say that Adair Manor is the Augusta National of Ireland. And it’s not just because it’s so beautiful and well manicured, but also because it has a subair system. And you can see it in action right now. The water shooting up and it’s sucking the moisture away and it back into the atmosphere. So the course is always in immaculate condition. Now this is the 16th, isn’t it Andy? The 16th. And this is often crunch time when it comes to the RDER Cup. Yeah. So, I can imagine this is potentially going to be a very important shot for somebody. Thankfully, not me in 2027. Nice wide part of the green where the pin is today. So, okay. Making it sound very simple. There’s a there’s a bit of room short. It’s easy. Strike. Oh yeah. Yes. Very nice. We’re dry. We’re dry. Again, there’s a there’s a bit of a trick on the eye here cuz the the green looks so shallow in depth. It looks like I can see that it’s long from left to right, but the the angle of it is awkward. And from front to back, from this direction, I just wonder how many pieces there are there. Yeah. Again, it is is the shape of the green. It’s much much narrower from front to back. Um the wall at the front as well isn’t straight. It is a wave. You can see the the up and down on it, but it’s also coming towards us. Okay. The line we’re on to the flag is bringing the wall maybe five or six yards closer towards us. So Uhhuh. Uhhuh. That looks perfect. Sit. Be the club. Be the club. Oh, baby. Uh-oh. Showing off now. The coffee is kicking in. The coffee is kicking in. Chances for birdie. Take a look at this view. What a golf hole this is. And I was right. It’s not very deep from front to back depending on your angle. It’s incredibly long, but it’s not very helpful. You know, it’s not giving you much to play with. So, if you miss it long, you’re down in this swale. There are bunk the bunker over there. There’s obviously water. If you mish hit it and you come up short, could be a very tricky little hole, but thankfully we’re both dancing. Right. Hey, how would you like this flag? Just out again, please. Just hold it. Just out. It’s good. Away. Oh, I like this. Steady. Great pot. Very good. You can take that one away. Yes. Great for pace. I had a feeling that wasn’t going to be short. I feel like I want to see a bit of right to left, but I’m not sure if that’s just my eyes playing tricks on me. Searching for something that’s maybe not there. Has to fall that way. It has to. It has to. Maybe right edge. Yeah, I would be giving it away. Just imagining that this could be for the Europeans to win the RDER Cup. Actually makes me want to vomit thinking about that. I’m really glad it’s not for that. Oh, it does fall. Yeah. So disappointing. But I’d say you can’t really sniff at a par here on 16. Disappointing after a shot like that. But a brilliant little par three. Where are we off to next, Andy? We’re going to 18th. Here we go. Final hole. [Music] Okay, Andy. Okay. I’m quite sad really. This is our last hole. I feel like a I’m just warming up and b it’s been such an enjoyable experience so far. Five is definitely not enough. But where have you brought us for the last hole to to to the 18th? Um 18th hole. Really unique water running right on the middle of the hole. So fairway on the right hand side, green over the bridge on the left hand side. Um great that you can see the green from from the tea. You see what’s in front of you? Uhhuh. Fairway bunker on the right hand side. 300 yards to carry that bunker from this T- box on the right hand side, right? It’s not a bad line. Um, as I say, you don’t want to be uh risking everything with that water down the left hand side. Just thinking when the guys do come here, they’ll obviously be a little further back. Is there any shot off the tea down the left? Can you see anyone taking it down that side? No, I don’t I don’t think so. We’ve kind of been very clever in the fact that for normal dayto-day play, you’d have to walk over that bridge away back there. So, there’s no way over. So that stops that stops daily play from doing it unless you’ve brought your trunks. Yeah. In in in tournament, I would be very surprised if that’s not an internal bounce. Okay. I think we’ll make that internal. Fair enough. Just checking. Yeah. In case you’re tempted. Yeah. It’s ripped. It’s over it. Over it. Well done. Let’s see what they can bring to the table on this final drive. Wind’s pushing off the left. Down off the left [Music] mine. Yeah, similar line. And it might just be short of the trouble. It’s going to be a long second shot in chances though. Right, both Andy and I have decided that we’re going to take on the green and two. It’s a wonderful finishing hole. If you do manage to get a good one away off the tea, which thankfully we both did, you can see the green is within reach. However, there’s trouble lurking all the way along. Definitely short is a no-go. And if you slice one right, you’re in big trouble as well. What’s the play then, Andy? Plays the green side bunkers. Um, if you end up hitting it straight and it goes in there, um, we’d settle for it. Okay. Again, just like some of the other greens we’ve experienced, that runs a lot shorter to that front left. That back right is a huge carry. That pen is just on the on the back tier. There is a slope that runs right through the middle of the green. Okay. So, very good. Left bunkers. Yeah. Yes. That had commitment. It’s a beauty. Well done. Really nicely played. It’s dry. We’ve got a crosswind here today, so it’s pushing everything towards the water, which is delightful. All of that ground in the left hand side. Yeah. Is all A4 bent grass. Okay. So that’s all the kind of that will stump around nine. Oh wow. Really low cut. Just like putting on a green. So anywhere over there, it’ll keep it’ll keep momentum. Yeah. I mean I’m just I’m honestly gobsmacked at how beautiful this approach shot is with the manor house to the right, the little bridge and then you say it was a cedar of Lebanon. That tree. Cedar of Lebanon tree. Yeah. It’s magnificent. Okay, I’m going to go at the bunkers as well. That’s the play. Great strike. Thank you. All right, a little chip in from there. There’s a braver man out there or woman that would take the green on from that position, but I’m sorry to say it was not me today. Very happy to have a weed chip. [Music] [Music] Right, we’ve both ended up down the left hand side. Smacked it at this bunker. Thankfully come up short. Some very good advice there from Andy. And now we’ve left a a real awkward little pitch shot on this crosswind from left to right. Everything on this green seems to feed from left to right. There’s a wee bit of green to work with Andy there, but not a lot. I think we is the right word. It’s uh Yeah, probably need to bounce it first. Bounce on the tier, maybe. Yeah, sounds good. It goes very fast away from the pin once you’re past it. Oh, baby. Nipped it. Going to spin. Is it going to spin? I think it is. Yeah. Well done. It’s a big sigh. So, that was that was the aerial route. But this turf, as you can see, it’s immaculate, but it’s a little bit tight here. So, I’m going to go for something that releases for me a little bit more. Easy. That’s a brilliant shot. Thank you. Sit there. Awesome. Thank you very much. I’ll do couple of lovely shots there. And yeah, the rain just starting to come down. You’d be disappointed if you came to Ireland and it didn’t rain. At least a little. Okay, good one to finish here. Absolutely. Again, you see, if you just literally ran another six feet Yeah. from here on it would be good night. It’ be wet. Oh, it just hung out there. Didn’t move for you. Didn’t move. Finishing start. I really want this one. I think that wind’s just holding the brake. So, I’m going to take it straight at it. I think it’s going to move from right to left, but the wind’s coming the other way. Oh, it did move. It did move. A great roll. Couple of pars. Par. Another very tough hole. And that concludes the five toughest holes here at Adair Manor. Thank you so much, Andy. It was an absolute treat to have your company. We really appreciate you coming out and taking the time to show us around these five holes. We do hope you’ve enjoyed watching. If you have, please take the time to subscribe because it allows us to keep making content like this one for you. And all that’s left to say is we’ll see you at the RDER Cup in 2027. Bye for now. [Music] So, there you have it. Five holes that promise to test every yard of your game and every ounce of your nerve. A Dare Manner isn’t just a postcard setting. It’s a proper championship challenge. And come 2027, when the RDER Cup arrives, these fairways will carry more than just footsteps. They’ll carry the weight of history, of hope, and of two teams chasing glory.

Thank you for another wonderful video! Adare Manor is truly heaven on Earth for golfers. I hesitate to criticize anything but I want to mention that the background music feels a little wrong somehow, and is a wee bit off-putting. Honestly I think it would be better without any music at all. Everything else is lovely. Thanks again and cheers
Fuck golf Ireland for dunbeg
I hope the American Supporters (and indeed the European ones, too)show respect to the players and do’t engage in boorish behaviour like the Americans did this year….

A massively uneducated and hurtful statement: "Houses are built for love, and castles are built for war". Mr McMahon, you should be ashamed.
Adare Manor construction spanned from 1832 -1860, before, during, and long after an Gorta Mór, as an intentional display of wealth and as a political statement.
A grand, deliberately English-style estate built in Ireland by a landlord family whose wealth came from rents extracted from Irish tenants in the surrounding area during a time of widespread poverty and starvation following the invasion of Ireland by English forces.
Narrow fairways, high rough. Yeah, the US is going to get destroyed again
The blue men’s 2027 top is £110.00, whaaaat!
That golf course is literally emerald green. Cannot wait for 2027. It will look spectacular.

Iona thanks for the treat of seeing the course that will host our ryder cup 2027 amazing good golf played also
Hmm. 550 Euros and you have to stay there. Beautiful course and hotel etc.
Great video. Loved it. What a golf course. Mental tip – When you say "I'm not going to do the sensible thing" at 16:12 – That's the reason why you made that shot. 😛
What a treat. Beautiful course and scenery….and two Scots playing the national game. Thanks Iona for bringing us here
"Absolute delight" – is exactly right! Thanks Iona and Andy for the tour – absolute delight!
Absolutely hyped! Can CBS already put her on the team?! What a fantastic and beautiful course.
Love it, Love it , Love it! Thanks so much…
Iona, you should do audio books,I could listen to your voice all day.
Now that’s a proper 5 star golf course. The whole area and aesthetics look amazing! Adare Manor will test the best.⛳️
Bit disappointed with 18 after you said you both decided to go for the green but laid up instead. I would've liked to have seen a bit more aggression to show the liabilities of the course. It is very beautiful, but without that wind I think the pros will tear it up for some low scoring rounds.
Such a stunning setting for the best golf tournament in the world. Cannot wait for it
How much is the cost to stay and play. And what 18 hole cost?
You’re already merched up ! Love it !
Great golf, host, presenter and what a venue. Can't wait for 2027 👍⛳
The conditions of this course look like an AI simulation. Just unreal. Would love to play there
Babe ❤
love is in the air
Such a pure swing, you sure find yourself in trouble haha
Looks like a cracker of a course, I just hope it doesn't lash rain in 2 years time. Or maybe that will suit the Euros?
Maybe the shot trace was a little deceiving, but was that first drive a nice little fade Iona?! I thought even with Sir Nick Faldo tips you have a baby draw?
some shot tracer shadow issues here 😄
so this course is open to the public??
Ryder cup in Ireland will be amazing
Always elegant, Iona.
This looks absolutely amazing.
You're game Iona is superb. Love it and you make it look so effortless. ❤😊
Spend 2 days walking the course with my Dad & uncle watching the JP Pro-am. Collectively we didn't spot one weed or blade of grass out of place even in the rough over the duration. It's perfection.
The Augusta of Ireland is Druids Glen
That has definitely wet my appetite for the 2027 Ryder Cup. It looks like the 16th & 18th will definitely have stories to tell in the competition. BTW, that Iona ain't too shabby at golf. Well done 👏 😂❤
Brilliant presenter , excellent golfer , unbelievable knowledge about all things golf . And yes very very attractive lady , the absolute perfect package.
It doesn’t look like that now, whole place is been resurfaced, wonder when this was filmed
£400 + for a round !!!!
