In this tip, I’m going to teach you how to hit the longest drives of your life. But we are not going to just do this just for a few balls. I’m calling this the one bucket challenge. So, I want you to do this for one bucket of balls. And I guarantee if you do, you will hit some drives longer than you ever have in your life. All right. So, what are we going to do? Well, when you go to hit a driver, have you been just trying to hit that golf ball as hard as you can with your hands and arms? probably because there’s an object sitting right there. Human nature is telling you to hit that object. Well, the problem is when you hit it with your arms, the harder you hit, the tighter your wrists. The more you do a chicken wing because the muscles are contracting, the more you start twisting the face, grip falls behind the head, you add too much loft, and you don’t hit it the best you could possibly be hitting it. Why don’t we try to swing as loose as humanly possible? Looser than you ever have in your life. And I guarantee you have done this before. Because I ask students all the time, have you ever hit that one shot 30 to 50 yards farther than any other ball? And every student has said yes. They’ve hit that one shot. Then I ask them, what did it feel like? And they go, “Wow, it felt effortless. Felt like I didn’t hit anything at all.” So, you couldn’t have used your arms on that particular shot because you would have said, “I swung out of my shoes. I hit it as hard as I could.” But nobody ever says that. So, what we’re going to do first, we’re going to just kind of shake out our arms. We’re going to hold the club up about knee high right here. Stretch our arms out like this. Loosen them up. Okay? You’re going to literally take this thing and start swinging it back and forth looser than you ever have in your life. So, I would have a ball teed up already. Shake it out. Then, you know, within, let’s say, 10 seconds, try to hit the shot with your arms that loose. You might not get it on the first few. Yeah, but you got to keep doing it. And that’s the problem. You might have loosened up before and then you quit after like three shots cuz you didn’t hit this amazing shot. That’s why we’re doing this for a whole bucket. Within a few minutes, you’re going to start getting used to this and looser and looser and looser. And I am telling you, once you loosen up, you will start hitting amazing drives longer than you ever

this worked for me
I need this
Best lessons I ever had were from Paul❤
It’s hilarious that it’s a universal thing that EVERYONE has hit that one shot lol
Pretty much the only times I’ve ever hit that shot was when I was so mad from hitting the ball horribly at the range, that I just started swinging and in my mania, I just happen to hit it perfectly and it calms me down lol
when you're right, you're right
That’s crazy !!! I’ve thought of this for years . I’ve even brought it up to friends to ask what that was . That random shot that you would love to hit consistently. They had no idea what I was speaking about. Just hilarious that I see this video .
This completely makes sense
I’m holding you to this😂 I’m hitting the Range later on🏴⛳️
Paul…….Played yesterday and hit some pull drivers and heels. Irons were thinned all day. Struggled.
Before ANYTHING he says,I’m calling it like babe Ruth.
He’s going to admonish us to loosen our wrist. our hands are wrists in our arms and swing loosely 😂
From experience, that's true. It enhances the 'whip effect', most importantly from the end of the whip- the wrists.
This is so true. The make or break point in a great round and just ok one.
Nice tip, drives were effortless and long but i can't stop slicing them unless i do something with the arms to square the club
What do you think of Moe Norman's single plane swing?
I can’t get my legs to touch on the follow thru
It's not that easy to hit a bucket of balls without turning your arms back on. But learned a lot by doing it.
True Thanks
This is gold. Years ago I was really struggling to hit my driver solid, and was really gripping it. So I tried making a full turn with soft arms and hands swinging real easy. Started hitting it square and poking it out there only about 200 or so but it was zero effort.
It took a while to learn how to ramp it up without getting tense, but eventually could poke it out there 280 plus which was 20-30 past where I used to be. BTW, I was not a young man.
Tension is the death of distance
This really hit home. I’ve been struggling a bit lately and I think it’s due to tension!
Then how do you explain Bryson, Tiger, Rory’s swing?
Hi Paul
I always enjoy your videos and tips. I’ve purchased The Body Swing Program, How to hit Driver Program, and Short Game Program. My only regret is not being able to afford a trip for lessons from you in Vegas.
So my question is “Do you have any instructors teaching The Body Swing in Canada 🇨🇦, particularly in western Canada, more so in Calgary Alberta?”
