He’s been at Kyra has a day off because we got a busy week coming up of Grizzlies games. So, we got Jacob on the ones and twos. And we have a special guest in the studio today. Uh you know him as good hippie. We we kind of know him as Miles, but uh but he’s uh he’s one less person in the chat today because normally he’s in the chat. I’m in the chat. I live chat me today. Today he’s on the desk with us. Uh good hippie joins us now. What’s up, man? Man, not much, man. You know, kicking it, chilling, getting ready for opening night. It’s my night before the game. I’m sure we’ll get some sneaker talk in there, too. Zack sneaker head. Um, tell us a little about about the design. I mean, the colors are like those classic Grizzly colorways. Yeah. Yeah. I wanted to go very, you know, it’s a it’s a giveaway shirt, so I wanted to be sure that it could be as dope as possible and it feature as much detail as possible without it being like absorbing in a lot of colors. So, I did a lot of half tones and everything when people see it. But I was like, I can go really bright with the teal and red cuz we had the throwback jersey. We’re doing a classic court tomorrow night. So, it was like, okay, that fits the theme. That’s perfect. And then I was like, how do I want to go about it? Cuz they kind of they didn’t really give me any guideline. They was just like, just go make a hippie shirt and let’s see what you do. Um, so cuz they mean they trust you. Yeah, they trust me. They want to do a hippie shirt. You’re sort of the anchor of the 191 collab, too. It was like, okay, that trust is there. And they was like, just do what you want to do with it. Um, and you know, we’ll see what you come up with. So, we went through and was all on the shirt. So, yeah, we got uh the core four, of course, you know, Mark, Mike, Zebo, uh, and TA. And then we went with, uh, some throwbacks from when we first got here. So, I went ahead and put the Jay Will on there. Shout out my boy White Chocolate. Got Shane and Pal. And then, uh, we also at the bottom, we have some, you know, some people that are still really connected to Memphis, whether that be Taan or Brevin or, uh, EP. And then also Rudy Gay because you know we can’t forget about about my guy man. Um and then I want to incorporate the new players and our two pillars now like what they said in the commercial. So J and Jiren being the two pillars and I feel like they needed to pop out in a different color white cuz they’re kind of what they are now. That’s like the team now. So I feel like they’re kind of in the front and everybody else is kind of in the background cuz they built it and now John and Jiren are hopefully going to take it to where it needs to So, the next So, tomorrow night, five first 5,000 fans get that shirt. I’m swiping through the pages and like going back um and then a lot of times, you know, our social team, they do a lot of throwback posts and it was like, “Okay, what is the perfect pictures of each of these players? What represents, I feel like their era the best.” Yeah. Um, and you know, it was like, okay, when I dug in, I was like, these are the ones right here, and they felt right. Um, and then J and Jiren, it was like it was natural. And I just love the Vancouver jersey. Like, I feel like that’s the best that’s our best jersey period in our in our franchise outside of the black ones. So, I was like, let me try something a little a little different. And then you had to top it off at the bottom with the hippie on there. I had to sign it, let people know. That’s always a good touch. Always, you know, fine touches. This is crazy cuz we if you was here at the other shows earlier this weekend, everybody in the comments was like, “Can can I buy that? Can I buy that? Can I buy that?” Was like, “Nah, you got to be here tomorrow. You got to be here tomorrow. Got to get your ticket.” Or you got to be on Sneakfest. Yeah. Got to be on Sneakfest. Uh, from um I can’t remember the name of the account, but it it was asking about uh your 10 sneaker commandments. And and we started talking about our 10 sneaker commandments. Uh it’s from uh the account uh life method, life_method on Twitter. Uh so we started talking about our 10 sinker commandments and we came up with a list. I’ve got it on my computer here. We’ll just run down some of these. Feel Miles feel feel free to throw one out here if you got ideas. Uh some of them are, “Thou shalt wear your sneakers.” I think that should be like number one. That should be number one. That’s definitely number one. Wear your sneakers. Um one of Sherms was thou shalt not wear crossbranding athletic apparel. Please stop. Please stop that. I’m tired of seeing I’m tired tired of seeing Nike with Nike socks with re or Adidas and New Balance like just or Adidas uh pants with Nike shoes just just yeah just although you sent me a randomly a picture of my son at a event. I was like where’d you get this? And my son was wearing Rebot Nike shoes with like Adidas socks. He had a New Balance sock. He had New Balance socks. I pass. Yeah, he’s he’s 12. He’s not buying his clothes. I saw the video. No, no, Beck. Beck, we had we have you to a high standard because your dad. Yeah, I guess so. So, yeah, I told I told L I’m I’m going to call Beck out for this. What about this one? Thou shalt buy what you like and not what is hype. That’s the go. Love it. Number two. You think so? Love that. Love that. Yeah. Um, buy what you like. Adam says, “Clean your sneakers routinely.” Yes. That’s a good one. That’s a good one. I I’m guilty of that one. Like, I don’t really clean my sneakers routinely like my Jordans and stuff. The ones I used to. I do. When you when you say routine, it let people like what what would what would be your when you say routine? It depends on how much you wear them. You know, if you wear them like your dailies, clean them at least every two weeks, you know. Okay, there you go. It’s something you wear monthly or something like that. Every two weeks. Wear your kicks. Yeah, I did clean my beers the other day once in every four months. I did I have a pair of Hokas. I’d worn them for about 3 months and I washed them the other day and I actually did it in the sink with a brush and everything and it didn’t really help. So, I threw them in the washing machine. I took the insole out, tied the laces, threw them in the washing machine, left outside. Yeah, it work more, you know, but I’m going tell I’mma tell y’all another hack, too. Uh, put them in the dishwasher. Take the sole out, set them upside time to the door. Yeah, you time time to the door of your washer, too. So, the dishwasher, take the sole out, take your shoe strings out, put them upside down. I’ve seen put your regular stuff in there. Same way that shrink. It won’t. It won’t. The other one is just don’t dry them. Put them outside. Matter. Don’t put them in direct sun cuz you know what happened to yours. Dishwasher. Just a regular soap. Yeah. Yeah. Just throw a little part of So, make sure your shoes smell lemony fresh. Squeaky clean. Squeaky clean. Squeaky clean. You can also baseball caps. You can put in the top of the dishwasher. Oh, I need to try some of this. And it actually works. A couple years ago, I did a joke and said, “This is how I wash my greens and I put the thing in the dishwasher.” And so many people like, “Yo, I never thought about that.” I was like, “Please don’t do that.” I’m old. There’s an episode of SciFo where Kramer takes his food in the shower and washes it. He’s making salads in the shower. Um, one of the rules here that Adam Elsa came up with, “Thou shalt not walk like a penguin to avoid creasing your sneakers.” Man, please stop that. This goes back to wear your shoes. You know, your shoes don’t walk like we’re speaking to like younger us. We used to break these commandments. You know what I mean? We got to learn from used to not want to get that first. Got to learn from your past. Honestly, some some older guys still do that now. Like they be walking like they want. Listen, just if you got to do all that, you shouldn’t be wearing shoe. You got to do all that. What about thou shalt not buy fakes? Yeah, for sure. Definitely. If you can’t get it, you just can’t get it. You can’t afford it. Move on to the next shoe. Move on to the next shoe. How about don’t buy shoes. Don’t buy shoes only because you want to sell them. That’s tricky right there. That’s a trick. That is a tricky toy. What’s the difference? What’s the difference in wearing them? Wear your kicks. If you’re not going to get your kicks to wear them, why are you getting them? Uh cuz sometimes you got to oop a friend. I’m guilty. some something some you’re trying to oop stock ass it depends on it depends on you know like Jerry you know you’re trying to buy a house or a car or your situation might be different than others. So I mean if you got it that you can buy one to wear and buy one to sell. Hey go for it. I did I mean I’ll incriminate myself. I found a pair of 11s the like couple months ago in a closet that I guess I bought them during co I don’t remember. I think they popped up on on so on sneakers or whatever and I got them and I’ve never worn them. They’ve just been in the closet this whole time. Cash out real quick. Yeah, I’m gonna sell those. These like this, but I also bought another pair of 11s since then, but I actually wear I didn’t mean to do that. It’s a situation. It’s situation. Situation. How about this one? Don’t wear a brand only cuz you’re trying to fit in. Facts. That’s a good one. That’s a good look. You start looking like a clown, right? You start looking out here wearing Supreme and never like Supreme. And you could tell when it’s your first time rocking something new. Just look weird. Jerry said, “Don’t wear mismatched colorways.” Yes. You know, like when people wear like a black cement on one shoe and a white cement on the other shoe. I used to kind of used to rock with it. I can’t lie. I used to rock with them in a playoff. I was about to say rock with that. I have yet to see the threes, but the twelves we see it all the time. The twelves with twelves is another one. I know the twelves all the time. We always see 12s. Countdown packs used to be a thing. They’ll wear the seven on one [ __ ] Yes. Yeah. That one I like. That’s a good one. Yeah. No. Was not rocking with this. Was not rocking with that one. And then the last one I had here and this one might be another one that when I say it, everybody’s going to go. Okay. What you got? Thou shalt not judge someone else’s shoes. That’s a good one. No, that’s a good one. I like that. I don’t know. Like I I usually judge a person based on the shoes they have on. I do be on the footwear. I do be looking at their first thing I do is look at their sneak. That’s the first thing. That’s the first thing. But I’m not I’m not judged. I just look at it like I think it all depends. It’s a difference in judging someone and like I guess it’s not I was going to say it’s a difference in judging them and like being able to kind of read them based on their shoes. You know what I mean? Like that’s okay. That makes it like I don’t I I wouldn’t feel bad about you cuz you’re wearing like a dirty pair of sneakers. You know what I mean? I wouldn’t feel less of you. Right. But if you have on like a Oh, case in point, there was a school picnic the other night for my son’s school. I saw a guy wearing a pair of Travis Scott across the field. And I was like, “All right, that guy must be in the sneakers, right?” Like regular parents not going to have on a pair of Travis Scott. And I asked I was like, “Who is that guy? He must have some connection to somebody somewhere.” And it turned out he did. But and my wife was like, “How did you recognize those shoes?” I was like, “That’s that’s our thing right there. That’s our thing. It’s a it’s a guy that came in. That’s my first time ever seeing him in the barber shop. He came in the barber shop. I saw him walk in, but when we was in the chair, he had the uh Sabrina 3s, the EBL. So, my barber is a sneaker head cuz y’all know I bring his shoes up here. And I was like, he was at the other guy. I was like, I you know, I see. I was like, who is that? He peep that comes to find out he’s an actual a sports agent. That’s so like Lane said, I didn’t even look at him. I looked right at his shoes and I and I just pointed that out type of thing. So, so judging in that way is kind is fine. Yeah. I would say judging somebody. Maybe it’s like um recognizing that’s a good one. That’s a good one. And I think it too depends on that person too. So cuz I know that y’all into sneakers. I’m going to me I’m be I’mma judge y’all cuz I know y sneakers. But also like if you see someone if I see a dude wearing those Travis Scotts, I know he’s into sneakers. Correct. It gives you something you can talk about. Exactly. Exactly. All right. Normally in this first segment, we talk about news and things that are happening around the world with sneakers and all that, but we had so much other stuff today. I kind of took all that out except for one thing I thought that was worth us going through. Nike has released their annual Dornocker collection. That’s a good collection. So, this is a thing Nike does with kids from a children’s hospital out in Oregon and they let kids design different versions of popular shoes. Um, Jacob, if you want to go through these, we can take a look at some of these designs. Boy, the fact that they’re inspired by cars. That’s what I liked about that. Like that was a I think these are nice. This might be the This might be top two pack like since that. This is one of the better packs. Yeah. In a long time. That’s cool. I like that stuff with the boooo on the side. I’m rocking with it. Oh, I didn’t I didn’t even peep that. Almost like a little hard. These are hard. This collection is great. Yeah, it’s really good. These are good. I don’t know what it says about Nike that like it takes a bunch of children to design it to make it like something that we’re all like, “Oh my gosh, this is awesome.” You know? No, this is good. It’s the um you know, you feel you just designing freely, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. There’s no like Yeah. They’re not trying to base it off other ones or anything like that. It’s just what they got. 17s to go hard. They just doing what they glow in the dark, too. I would I would like to find out like you know just how the thought process of you know these kids just kind of go like you said the one kid I wish I knew it I wish I could remember his name the one that did the 17 like he he went into the car Zack okay Zack yeah Zack how he said he he loves cars so he took that model and put that put that into it like I thought that was pretty cool yeah the 17 is definitely the uh the one and the bottom glows in the dark too hard yeah hard I’m liking all of these I wear every single one of that that Nike uh what is it? The V the V2 V2K or something. That was that was a fresh these all these all were available at an auction this week in Portland. And then they’re going to pop up on sneakers later this winter. It says this collaboration has raised $44 million for the for the Dorbacher children. Manor back, man. That’s I love that. I love they continue continue this up. I’m ready for these to pop up on uh on sneakers. Oh yeah, for sure. For sure. For sure. All right. Well, speaking of uh stuff that’s dropping, uh something dropped and Sherm brought it with him today to uh to unbox. It’s It’s perfect for a grizzly season, bow’s all right around the corner. Facts. Uh Sherm’s going to unbox something for us right now. Yes, sir. So, I got some real nice in here today. I know some of y’all that watch the show or whatnot say, “I’m probably going to get tired of that.” But guess what? We’ll never But we’ll never get tired of this because this is definitely sneaker of the year. sneaker of the year for sure. One thing I didn’t realize too, y’all probably knew this, but I didn’t realize this font was from Metallica. I didn’t either. So, I saw I saw the Metallica shirt the other day and I was like, “Oh, that’s what that font is from. It’s rockstar. It’s a It’s a rockstar vibe.” So, you see this right here? You kind of know what this is. I mean, the Nike Jaw 3, but show you this here. Check that out. Nike. So, normally normally he’ll have the regular like the head that’s on lane, but they did the So, if you see this, you kind of should know what that is, but I have in my hand supposed to release today on Nike, but Nike pushed it back to tomorrow. But, but you can buy them at Flocker. You can buy them at Foot Locker right now. Foot Locker has them, and I think uh Hibbitz has them. And here is the early look, I guess you could say early look of the Nike uh Jaw 3 uh spooky season. Uh the details on here is super crazy. Uh yeah, it comes with an extra orange uh shoelace that M has in his hand. Um on the like the little eyelid area at the bottom down here, it has Morant like with the teeth like the like the fang of the teeth. The insides of them is super cool. Uh let me take the inside. They It says zombie. It has his face on there and it has both both of them have zombie uh on the inside. Bless you. Thank you. Uh, another detail I know, you know, just watching Scary Movies, how you know, you going through the uh like the um you can start see them glow already. Yeah. When you going through the cemetery when it be glowing and stuff like that, if you look in between like the the materials and stuff, it has like that glowish like the little faded uh kind of image on there. Same way on the inside of there, it has the red 12 on the back. Uh actually, and this is this is suede on the top of this tongue right here, too. Oh, so it’s it’s suede right here on top of the tongue. Um, and like Jerry said too, these actually glow in the dark. Um, I forgot to send the video out so y’all can see it, but you can go go to our sneakfest page. Um, and you can see the video u that I did that the soul glow and it glows very like it’s a it’s super glow on it. It’s a good super glow on it. So, yeah. And then it has the uh kind of like a blackish kind of uh has some little specks in it on the Nike check and has the red uh red Nike outline on there. So then has the brown on the inside with the brown laces out there. So that was the only one thing I saw people said that they didn’t care for the brown lace. I kind of like it. And the swoosh is actually brown if you look closely. That’s what I was looking I was trying to see if it was brown or black. Look on the other side. The other side. It kind of matches like and if you put the orange in there and then you got the real Halloween colors, the brown and orange. Yeah, these these are definitely fire. And I mean, like I’ve said all the time, you know, I’ve been I’ve been hooping in them and this is only shoot and I love it. Like everybody now that I that I play ball with, this is all they that’s all they’ve been hooping in. So yeah, of Grizzlies fans know it’s the team that gives you the edge. Big River Steel does, too.
