on the LPGA tour this year. Even par right now looking to get one here and it’s an early birdie for Lexi Thompson out and a group alongside Yukaso and Yoli no who had one of the best rounds in the afternoon. Her line is basically the very left edge of the tree that’s in front of the tea right of our TV tower. Oh, she likes it. Yeah, the tracer on it is, you can see, as Karen said, hugging the corner and great result. Ideally, it’d be nice to be able to hit a little bit of a fade a little left to right because that wind also not helping. But on the right side, they’ve got about 25 paces of depth. So, to your point, carry over that front edge, you got a little bit of room. And it’s so hard to make yourself do it when you’re just going in with such a short wedge. Oh, just pitched it on the top of the bunker. Okay, that landed really soft because it landed in the rough aggressive. Well, we have the again we have the privilege of seeing this and anybody that’s got the afternoon, you get some rain delays in those spots as well to take a little break. Lexi and this is going on a bit of a draw. Left side is much more difficult. Paige, yeah, I was going to say the easier to approach onto this green from the right. Yes. And just the second player to reach this green today and stay on the green, Gabby Lopez reached it earlier today. That is tremendous. So this should be more on the to the right half of the hole. Oh, very very confident too as well. As soon as she set her putter down, immediately took it back. She Yeah, she can. Very makeable putt. It’s a bit of left movement in it once the ball hits the green. something that she could definitely give a good run at. Oh, it just took a bobble. Little hop on the fringe. Still not bad. I was going to walk away with the car given the difficulty today. Stressfree car park. It’s been 2,200 days since Lexi’s last tour. Yeah, it’s totally predictable, Tom. I mean, it’s the overseas travel. you know, she gets to play where she where she feels, you know, she wants to give back to the sponsors. And I think DAO is one of those tournaments that uh has supported the LPJ and supported Lexi and I think she enjoys it. And the wind is off the right. Don’t know if it’s too much of a hurdle or a help right now. I think it’s directly off the right, but it will help her draw. That was a 243 yd carry. So that bunker on the left, she’s able to work around and over. When you’re in this position, you think, okay, just walk off of here with a bogey. Sometimes just accepting that bogey is a is is a good thing in majors. Now this from 43 ft. Just make that. That was awesome. She did apologize to Gil Hands after she said that. She knew she might get some stick. I think that was what she was referring to though, Karen. For sure. That was just fine. And Lexi, how important. So, probably line be left edge of the bunker by the green and really right at the landing area, the fairway starts to pinch in and it slopes from left to right. You can see exactly what I’m talking about with that pinch in at 230. But no problem for Lexi Thompson. It isn’t until the ball gets up around the green that it will be affected by that wind. Lexi from 148 yds working on the fade. Oh, that was lovely. Well done. That’s from 11 ft and in. Well done. All of a sudden, Lexi Thompson just one back. means basically that they’re timing each individual shots and uh typically we do that if a group falls out of position and is over their time and certainly pace of play has been a hot topic on the professional tours for the last few years and and the LPJ puts an extra emphasis on that here and so they’ve they’ve got this group on the clock now where uh they’ll be timing those players shots and trying to push them along get them back into position be able to draw it into that right to left slope Keep it a little bit down below the wind as well. She loves it. Quick T pickup and in good shape. I don’t feel like I’ve seen her look this confident for a while. She seems to really be enjoying the moment. Oh my goodness. 360 and some that circled the entire hole. Karen, she’s had some unbelievable power saves today. Time now for driving performance powered by 5G solutions from T-Mobile for business. And Lexi on the tea having to use driver today because it’s so much into the wind. And this is a perfect example of a drive. I mean, that was just magnificent across the board. Not a full shot. I always feel like I’m holding my breath whenever the ball hits the green because Lexi tends to create quite a bit of spin. That looked good for a long time. Just last minute fall to the left. But again, a stressfree par. So, she’s keeping this round. And her and her caddy were standing on the 15th green and looking down this 16th hole, really planning what they were going to do with this shot. That’ll be nice. Yeah, she was leaning like she lost a little right of her target, but that’s just fine. She’s been leaning a lot today. This whole location does allow for that room. It’s a nine on and everything in this front portion of the green slopes down to the hole. So, not bad at all. Got a little bit of help with the downs slope and downwind. She doesn’t have to contend with the wind on her back like Yi just did. Yeah. Well done. One to play what will be a really important round for Lexi Thompson. Last bogeyree round in a major. Came back in 2022. Great view from behind of that center line bunker. Needs the wind to hit it a bit. And it does. It’s in good position. It’s a really poor angle from this right side of the fairway to where the hole is today. Oh, she was up and out of that one early. Just came up a little short from 15 and 1/2 ft. It’s a disappointing closing bogey on what has been an incredible round of golf for Lexi Thompson who is trying to win her second major 11 years after her first. that came at the Chevron Championship in 2014

Great round on a tough course 💪
Since retiring, Lexi has been playing a lot of golf recently. All of that unnecessary fuss, hoopla, for nothing.
"Since retiring, Lexi has been playing a lot of golf recently. All of that unnecessary fuss, hoopla, for nothing"…. well said and IMO was disrespectful to the winner and players who finished in the top 10 in that tournament last year by make the announcement during the tournament in an effort to attain undeserved attention. But consistent with a now middle of the pack, mediocre player who, playing her best golf in years, in contention after the 2nd. and 3rd. rounds, chokes, shoots 7 over on the weekend, dropping from 3rd. on Sat. to tied for 12th. Which now means she hasn't won in over 6 years which really shouldn't garner much attention at all, at least not based on performance.
