Seamus Power has four PGA Tour events left to retain his playing rights for next season. A player who has enjoyed great success in the FedEx Cup Fall or ‘wraparound season’ as it was once known, has not had the bounce that he usually gets at this stage of the year.

The top-100 in the FedEx Cup Rankings at the end of the fall season will earn full PGA Tour cards for 2026 while 101 to 125 will have conditional status.

Power, who managed to play himself into the top-60 and qualify for two signature events at Pebble Beach and Riviera via the Fall Series last year, is ranked 135th this time around and needs to find a run of form quickly to retain his playing rights for next year.

A 2022 RSM Classic winner, a tournament which is still to come in this fall season, the West Waterford man hasn’t found the form that he usually has at this time of year with finishes of 47th and 48th since returning to PGA Tour action, with poor Sunday finishes costing him dearly.

This week, the two-time PGA Tour winner tees it up at Black Desert Resort for the Bank of Utah Championship where Keegan Bradley returns to action following the Ryder Cup last month.

For Power, the Ryder Cup remains a what might have been event. Ranked as high as 28th in the world heading into 2023, the now 38-year-old seemed like a real contender to make Luke Donald’s European team for Rome.

However, a hip injury in Scotland midway through 2023 as well as a health scare and a few other knocks to the body have completely curtailed any hopes of a consistent run of form.

As 2025 comes to a close, Power faces losing his PGA Tour card and dropping out of the top-200 in the world after just one top-10 this year and eleven missed cuts from 24 events worldwide.

Still, he remains confident that he can find a late spark to save his season.

“I’ve always played pretty well in the fall so hopefully I can play good golf. Playing on so many different grasses over the years in the US and there are some courses that I have liked. There is still a lot of good opportunities and hopefully I can produce at the right time,” said Power.
