MANHATTAN, Kan. – Southern Illinois Women’s Volleyball completed its fall campaign at the Powercat Invitational Tuesday in Manhattan, Kan. The Salukis finished 15th.

Conditions were very tough on Head Coach Samantha Sambursky’s squad, but she gave junior Kayla Sayyalinh credit after her highest tournament finish of the fall.

“The course played tough with a lot of wind,” Sambursky said. “Despite the wind Kayla put together some decent rounds to lead the team.”

Here is how the Saluki golfers fared:

Sambursky hit on several key items when it comes to what her team will focus on over the winter.

“We will prioritize short game and fundamentals, because you can never work on these enough no matter the level,” she said. “We will hit the weight room more this off season and hope to get stronger and gain distance.”
