Midwestern State Invitational Scoring



WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – UT Tyler women’s golf secured their third straight top five finish to begin the fall schedule after a fourth place finish at the Midwestern State Women’s Invite.
 
DBU would take the team crown, finishing eight over par as a team.
 
Senior Martha Laremark paced the Patriots at four under par, finishing third on the individual leaderboard after climbing one spot in the final round. Arnie Taguines and Lucy Kate Smith also finished inside the top 25 for the event, placing 14th and 25th, respectively.
 
Laremark would fire a final round 72 after matching rounds of 70 on day one. She made a trio of birdies to go with one bogey and one double bogey on the day to climb into the top three and finish four shots back of the eventual champion. She would finish the event second in par four scoring at three under par, and fifth in par five scoring at five under par.
 
Taguines shot a final round 73 as she made 15 total pars to go with one birdie and two bogeys as she climbed 11 spots on the leaderboard. Smith would shoot 75 in her final round that featured a pair of birdies as she climbed 12 places on the leaderboard.
 
The final counting score came from Karina Duran, who shot a final round 81.
 
Emmerson Doyle shot a final round 83, moving her to a 48th place finish. Duran would place 52nd.
 
Also competing for the Patriots was Lilly Phelps, who placed 61st for the week after rounds of 86, 77, 77.
 
For the week the Patriots were second in par five scoring at four under par and a 4.93 average. They were fourth in par four scoring at +40, a 4.27 average. The Patriots also made the fifth most birdies and fourth most pars.
 
UT Tyler will now look ahead to the DII Currahee Elite Invitational, hosted by Anderson at Currahee Club in Toccoa, Georgia that will take place October 27th and 28th.
