The Best UK Golf Resort You’ve Never Heard Of

Yes, people. Welcome back to the channel. We’re here at the Springs Golf Club. You guessed it, to try and break 90. However, I absolutely have to show you how cool this place is. So, you stay in cabins, not hotel rooms, which is mega. There you can see where my cabin was. And the rooms, as expected, are top draw. And you even get a balcony. There he is, the main man loving life. And the restaurant is also gold themed, which is absolutely mega. And the gym is fully stocked. fitness, cardio, weights, you have everything there. And then you move on to the spa, which is also absolutely beautiful. Sauna, and anything you might need to relax after a devastating round of golf, which I am well accustomed to. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the springs. Right, hole number one, par four. It’s a tricky one. There’s just a couple of trees kind of in the middle of the fairway there. So, you want to be right of those, but then you kind of have a bit of a blocked out line to the green. So, let’s see what happens, people. Let’s see what happens. Five wood in hand. Healy off the first. Going to try and save oursel here. We’ve still got semi somewhat of a line in 99 in hand. Be kind. Yeah, I’ll take that. Just short. We hit a tree. Chipping on. Just a little flick. Land it just short and let it release. Little bit like that. Oh, ladies and gentlemen, the mits, the soft hands, the soft hands on hole one. Come on. I like that. Now, let’s make a put. Let’s make a putt. In. She gets. My rounds normally start with a double or a triple. So, we’re winning. We’re winning. All two. Let’s go. Okay, we got a gentle par three now. 105 yds. I’ve got my gap wedge in hand. There’s absolutely no reason we don’t stiff this on the green. Famous last words. That is our second heel shank of the day. Ladies and gentlemen, we are working through the shanks. Um I am not exaggerating. I shanked I think 70% of my warm up world. So So yeah, we’re in trouble. Right. Come on. Up and down again. Go ball. She was running away. Some of the worst golf. Every now and then I get the shanks. Yeah, I said it and I’ve got them today and I can feel it. The heel is just there and it’s just so hard to fix mid round, but we need to fix it. Okay, we got a par five fire slightly getable. Um, we’ve got mini driver in hand. Just going to try and send it towards the bunker on the right. Hopefully get a little bit of a draw. Healey, but it should be all right. Yeah, right. Rough about 200 y down there. Listen, today I’ll take it. So, um, so yeah, not a bad drive. You’re actually still on the fairway. Um, long ways in, 280 yards left. So, I’ve got five wood in hand. We’re just going to do a nice little layup here. I feel shanked it. Please let me know. Let me know in the comments what am I doing differently because I am shanking everything. Driver out the heel, woods out the heel, irons, shanks, wedges, shanks. 200 yards out. Um, the sensible thing would be to lay up with like a seven iron, but it’s just a perfect fivewood number. I I did just shank this golf club. Have you ever heard of anyone shanking their woods, honestly? I’ I’ve never done that. I’ve played golf for three years now. I don’t think I’ve ever had a shank problem with my woods. Oh dear. Right. I mean, if I stick this on the green, it’s still green and regulation. So, um, listen, we live in hope. We live in hope. Bit fat. It’s a perfect layup. Going to have a wedge in our hands. And it’s not a full swing. Not bad. Nipped that really nicely. Really, really nicely. We’ve got about 10 feet for the paw. Yeah. Right then. Probably a bit more than 10 feet. Good. Bit more than 10 feet. He hasn’t. Oh, what a right. So, it’s This is the annoying thing. I feel like I figured out I figured out. You should never say that. I feel like for the first time my putt is good. My T-shots are better than they have been. It’s just everything else. It’s just so annoying. Trick little hole coming up now. Par four. Quite long. Lots of bunkers. So, need a good t-shot here. Come on. Mini driver in hand. It’s a bit left. Stop. It should be all right. Left roof kick left. Oh, it’s got over the bunker. So, I’ll take it a little bit shorter this time. About 30 35 yard chip. Bit skinny, but it’ll work. It’ll work. Lovely. Keep rolling. Oh, yeah. Thank you for the bounce. Thanks to the bounce. Right, this is our tallest order, our biggest test for the for the bogey. To keep the bogey train rolling, we now have to sink a six foot right to left downhill slider. What a putt that is. We gave it a run. Okay, guys. Par four. Dog to the left. It’s not the longest one. So, um, chances if you can find the center of the club face. Okay. Five wood in hand. Come on. Oh, straight at that bunker. Be short. Oh, it’s short. Great club selection. Amazing club selection. It was never in danger. 130 yards. N I the way I’m swinging it so tentatively just to find the center of club face. It’s got to be a 99. Let’s make sure we get on the green. Beat the number. It’s a bit towy. Oh, just short. It was rolling left. It was rolling left a lot. It might even be bunker. Oh, a bit too clean. All right, people. Um, bit of a bump and run situation coming up. 98 in hand. Stick it close. Let’s see if we’ve got a chance at another bogey. Oh dear. No bueno. Needed hitting, didn’t it? It needed a little bit of hitting. Feel like the greens are all swinging like crazy. It’s another swinger. Not me, the bull. Smoked it. Oh, smoked it through the brake. Scared of it. Oh, when it rains it pours. Bad hole. Bad hole. If you’re new to this channel, smash the like button. Smash the subscribe button. I don’t know why you would, but if you are for some reason enjoying the calamity on show, make sure you subscribe. Do you know what? Because where is the golf resort? Because there’s a lovely spa waiting for me after the round. I might just be dipping in. That’s the beauty of it. If the golf’s not great, which today isn’t, the spa’s waiting for me. The spa’s waiting. I better believe that. Right. Hole number six, people. Slugly to the right. Lots of bunkers. I’ve got mini driver because I think the one real danger with mini driver is the bunkers on my left, but I’d have to hit quite a good one to reach them. And I’m not hitting too many quite good ones today. So So that’s where that’s where the confidence is at. I love the heel of this golf club. I mean, it’ll be fine. I actually think that’s fairway. Just a longer ways in 161. Yeah, this should really have been more like 130 140 in, but we’ve got this. Come on. We’ve got this bit of wind helping. Lovely shank. Excellent. Excellent. It’s getting worse. It’s getting worse. Oh boy. It’s actually a nice shot. Yep. We like that one. Finally. Finally. Ah, didn’t hit it. Didn’t hit it, but it’s a decent two putt. Right, come on. Let’s see if we can build on that nice sand wedge. Oh, lovely hole now. Really nice par four. Not too long. Uh, but you’ve got water left, trees right. So, yeah, want to hit a good one into wind though as well. Yeah, pretty good. It’s not going to be the biggest, but it’s fairway ball. I think I somehow managed to sky that. Yeah. Right people, in my head, I know what is going wrong. I’m just I must be coming over the top like crazy. So, just lead. Let’s get a bit of a compression going, people. Let’s get a little bit of compression going. Right. Come on, Dennis. loosen up. Do you know what? It’s right, but it’s so much better for contact. Yeah, I’ll take it. We will work with that. We can work with that. Right. So, we just missed the green. Right. Slightly short. Um, we got a tough chip now. All above feet. Have to be a little bit floppy this one. Oh, that’s lovely. That was a little bit floppy. Pin high 10 ft. Come on. Bushed. I’m enjoying my speed today. If nothing else, if anything today, I’m enjoying the speed of my putts. In all the golfing possibilities, the only thing I’m enjoying today is the speed of my putts and my short game to be fair. That’s been all right. Right, par three, the iconic eighth here. Semi island green. 180 yards, I think, all the way back to the flag. Wind helping today. Got my six iron. Confident swing. Come on. Oh yeah, be big enough. Oh, we’re on the first good golf shot of the round arrives on the iconic eight. Greed in regulation. What a shot, by the way. What a shot that was. Let’s go. Okay, guys. First green in reg. Let’s see if we can stop. Let’s see if we can avoid a three put burger here. Go ball. Oh, really good line. Just need a little bit more. Every single time. Every single time. It was a long first, but we move. It’s a bogey. Par five. I think it’s a par five. It looks a long way down there. I know we’ve got water right at about 250 260. I’ve got mini driver. I don’t think we’ll hit it well enough to get there today. And you’ve got loads of space out to the left. So, Didn’t hear anything. Just down the right. Hopefully not too much too trouble. All right, a tie in. Yeah, should be plenty a layup. So, instead of the footage of the AI in layup, we now have footage of my cameraman walking from the AI shot to the buggy because they thought they pressed record, but they actually didn’t press record. All right, 125. 125. Oh, by the way, I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet. Get on this rangefinder. The Rider Cup is starting at the point of recording. It’s next week. So, yeah. Team Europe all the way. Oh, might be a bit short. Oh, it’s good. Just on. I think we’re putting ladies and gentlemen. Pin high. Just off the green, off the on the fringe here. So, actually a really good pitching wedge there. Up the hill, Dennis. I’m saying it in my head, but then it doesn’t quite make it all the way down to my arms. Come on. Just a well played hole. Good T-shot. Good approach. Two put to P. Let’s go. Okay, guys. Another lovely par three coming up. Water to the right. Not so much in play on this one. Um, however, it’s 170, but it’s into win this time. So, I’ve got a seven wood. So, the other heel, but it’s on. It’s on center of the green. We are far away from the hole uphill, right to left. Just all about speed really. Go ball. I’ve done the same thing again. Just boom. Back to back PS. You said did someone say back to back PS? I didn’t think that was on the cards today, but could be a big back nine. Let’s go. Okay. Right. Back to back pass, people. Um, when will it all collapse? Dennis, shut up. Positive mental thoughts. Right. It’s another nice hole. Par four. Not too long. Um, I’ve got mini driver. Try and stay on the aggressive side here because it’s still into wind and I don’t really want like a seven iron in. So, nice smooth. I think we’ve been swinging a little bit too hard. Release the club. released it. Yeah, should be fine. I don’t mind that at all. I really wanted to see one turning over to the left, so I don’t mind that one bit. 125 in into wind. So, I’m coming up to a nine. So frustrating. Stay short of the bunker. Yeah. Okay. We’re chipping over a bunker. Oh, we’re battling. Soft hands. Soft hands, Dennis. Come on. Oh, they are soft. They are the softest hands you ever did see. the softest hands I’ve ever seen. I don’t know about you, but not too shabby. Let’s go. I’ve had a few of them missing on the low side. Oh dear. Right, hole number 12, par four. Just straight straight down there, which is quite refreshing. Mini driver in hand. Oh my days. Oh dear. Well, that just happened. That will be making the blooper real, that’s for sure. A little fivewood goes back in play. Bit cuty, but should be absolutely fine. Yep. It’s good. It’s what we needed. All right. 100 yards. Stock sand wedge. Or what have you got, Dennis? Snagged so hard. Bunker. Bonka. I’ll take that. A bit shanky, but we’re out in one. We’re out in one. Chipping on. It’s not the prettiest hole. Duffed it. Just a little bit of conviction, Dennis. Please. Oh dear. Oh dear. We move. We move. Okay guys, hole 13, par four. This one’s going to be a long old boy into the wind. It’s really annoying. It seems to be the the short par fours where I think I’m going to score well. That’s where I rack up the unbelievable scores. I mean, the last time I had an eight was a long time ago. Little low thin number, but it’s on the fairway. Anywhere but the center of the club face today. Anywhere but the center. Big fivewood needed. Spare my blushes, please. for left in the trees. Red stakes. We’ll see. We’ll see. All right. Drop. That is a horrendous drop. Okay. Right. Up and down required. Spin. That’s never going to spin out of there, is it? We’re on the green now. Downhill. Go. Oh, just a little bit more every time. They just need that little bit more. They’re not rapid. We’re kind of going into autumn now. just scared of it. It’s funny, isn’t it? The speed of my putting was so good front n my golf game was atrocious. It’s now I would say my golf game is now less atrocious and now my putting isn’t great after everything I’ve just said. I do that. I think that might be an eight backed up by a seven. It might even be an eight. Nice. It might be back to back snowmen. First time on the channel. It might just be back to back snowmen. Right guys, back to the par fives now. It’s about 490 yards this one. We got mini driver in hand. Come on. It’s been a long time since those greening regulations. Not my best, but certainly not my worst. Yeah, she’ll play. She will play like nicely. You know, pros have the wear marks here. In about five years time, my clubs going to have a wear mark in the heel cuz that living in the heel, people living there. Kind of like semi going for it here. 21 15 yards out. Fivewood. I haven’t hit it that far once today, so it’s more of a layup. Oh, just a great hit. It’s going to be short, but that’s what I needed. Yeah, lovely layup. Absolutely zero reason I don’t get a green in regulation here. I think I can get away pitching it with pitching it just short. That’s a very short go. Oh yeah. Stop. Stop. Yeah, we’ll take that. We’ll take that all day. That is a put within 15 ft, that’s for sure. Get it to the hole. Confident put over it. Thought he’d be really swinging a lot more. Good speed though. And we’re back in the PS, ladies and gentlemen. Another bounceback par. Come on. Few more horse to go, people. All right, hole 15. Another par five here. Back to that par fives. This one’s going to play a lot tougher. Slightly into wind. It looks really narrow down there as well. Oh yes. Oh yes. Finally, he finds the center of the club face. Lovely. Best drive of the day. Best drive of the day. Let’s go. Right. Another layer with the fivewood here. Same as last time. Except this time we’re going to be nowhere near the green. Oh dear. Topped. But do you know what? It’ll be all right. 100 yard top. We’ll move. All right. Seven seven wood in hand out the rough. 169 yards still to go. So, I’m not sure this can get there in the wind, but feels like the right club. Oh, it’s just fading. It’s good hit. Oh, that would have been money. Bit of a precarious situation here. 40 yard chip off a bare line. Let’s see if we can navigate it. Oh, bit spicy. Just a little bit thin. We’re still put in, so that’s good. This for the part now up the hill. Going to have to give this a good old smack. Oh, the perfect smack. Almost perfect smack. Not too bad. Right, people. Hole 16, par three. Over a little bit of danger. Um 165 y. I’ve got my six iron. It should be plent. It’s a bit towy. Go. Yeah, just short. I’ll take that. It’s actually not a bad swing at all. Right, little bump and run. Toe down. That seems to be the thing with bump and runs is good contact, good everything. Just don’t quite hit them hard enough. That’s good though. One and a half feet past the hole. In for the bogey. I can live with bogeies, right, guys? This hole is lovely. Short par four, drivable par four. Um, not too late for me, that’s for sure. Uh, risk and reward for sure. So, yeah, I’ve got six sign in my hand. I’m kind of laying up potentially not even reaching the water if I hit it right. So, nice and safe. Then we should have potentially less than 100 yards in. So, Lovely. Oh, that would have been perfect on the par three. That’s as good as I can hear. Six iron. Lovely fairway ball. Perfect. Perfect. Right. 90 yards. Said it be less than 100, so I’m happy with that. 90 yards. Let’s go for a nice smooth 3/4 gap. Okay. Everything is fine. Everything Everything is fine. Well, ignore what just happened. 50 yard pitch ball then ground. Lovely. Lovely. Stop. Yeah, we’ll take it. Run on a little bit. All right, we might yet leave with a par here. It’s actually not as bad as I thought. I thought I ran on about 10 feet. 5T for the par. Come on, Dennis. Not made a put in a long time. Pulled it. Pulled it. Leave the club face alone, Dennis. Leave the club face alone. Oh, that’s annoying. That’s annoying. And I feel like we uh that chip deserved better, but we moved. It’s another bogey. It’s another bogey. Right, hole number 18. Lovely clubhouse. I mean, this one is as good as it gets. It’s absolutely stunning over there, but it’s a tough T-shot. Another bunch of trees in the middle of the fairway. Um that’s the second time today. Divide opinion. They divide opinion. Um trees in the fairway. I’ll let you decide. Let me know in the comments what you think. But here we go. Mini driver full send straight over the top of them. Lovely drop kick. Get lucky. Crash. They kicked it straight right. Oh. Oh. If I didn’t hit the ground. Well, if my grandmother had wheels situation, but if I didn’t hit the ground, I think that would have been muddy. My seven wood layup goes back in play here. Perfect. Straight to the bunkers. That is the best seven wood or five wood all day on a rope. That was last little soft hands check here. 50 yard chip. 54 in hand. H off swing. Clipped it a bit too good. Oh, it’s releasing. Oh, it’s releasing. Lovely. Oh, what a shot. It’s probably more than Well, it is more than 5 ft, but it is a put for par. Heavy hands. Rhino hands from the boy. They wanted it too much. Some Sometimes in life, you just want it a little bit too much. Oh dear. How embarrassing is that? How embarrassing is that? Three foot from from like six feet. Oh dear. Right guys, I hope you enjoyed that video. Thank you to the springs for having me. What a place this is. Like I said, it’s not just the golf. You saw the amenities. This place is special. 1. Just finished seeing you shanking the 3rd hole. Seems like you are swinging right to left. Keep your right elbow tucked more to your side as you swing. That's my 2 cents worth of advice ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. Not that I'm better than you..but I think you need more speed in your back swing to match your forward swing…rhythms and timing I suppose.

  3. When I get heely with my ball striking it's usually because I'm not properly clearing my hips, which causes my hands to get forward. A good drill is to work on tempo and turning your hips while you drop your hands in the downswing. "pump drill" is a good starting point.

  4. Ah the good ol shanks. I just got over a mini episode myself. 2 terrible range sessions with shanks off every club, played a round and not a single shank. Makes no sense. Your hand path throughout your shanks swings varies quite a bit. Keep elbow tucked and flatten the plane IMO. Keep in mind im a 21 handicap๐Ÿ˜‚
