What’s up everybody? My name’s Oz. This is Big Swing Golf. Everybody apparently knows that I love clean clubs. Affirmative, sir. Particularly Groove It, which is exactly why I’m here at the Downs Credit today. Is it worth the price bracket or are there better, cheaper alternatives? Let’s find out. Full disclosure, prove it. were really kind to send both their products to me that they have in their lineup at the moment. So, this is the Groov It Wet Scrub, which is their top-of-the-line club scrubber and cleaner. All right. And then they sent me the Mini G, which is a new addition to their lineup. So, it’s more for like dry weather clubs, you know, or just if you want something lightweight and you you carry a bag, the Mini G is perfect for you. So, dry scrub, wet scrub. This is their current lineup. Oh, they also So, I don’t know whether you guys saw my Vessel bag review, but they also have a Vessel branded Groovit, but let’s tell you about pricing. The Groovit wet club scrub is £25. The Mini G at this time is £22. And on the vessel website where they sell the variant of the groove it with the it’s literally just got the vessel logo on it. I have a picture of it down there now. I believe it’s $34.99. So if you are a vessel bag connoisseur and you cannot live without having that vessel branding on your groove it go for it. From what I can tell it’s exactly the same as the standard groove it. So it’s up to you. Do you want to spend an extra 10 on branding or do you just want the product that’s going to do the job? That’s up to you. Key points of the Groove It dry first. We’ll do the dry cuz there’s not much to it. So, both editions have a really high quality attacher, but the key point is the magnet. So, the magnet’s fantastic. So, that’s also featured on the Mini G, but the Mini G, as I said, it’s only a dry scrubber. So, it’s going to be perfect if you’ve got like a carry bag. You want to carry clubs in the summer, don’t want to carry extra weight really. Wet scrubber again has a real nice attachment here. So you can attach it either way. Real high quality attacher. The key point the magnet pull away. Oh, that is so satisfying. And the other key difference, peel peel peel peel water. So you can really get some water on those clubs and give it a deep scrub. And the other part of the groove it that no one’s really talked about is the arch. in the grooves here. So when you’re scrubbing, you get an even scrub all the way through and deep scrub into the grooves. So when you got your water on there, deep scrub and it really gets in there. I really love the design of that. So simple, but so effective. It’s a really high quality product. It’s made of plastic. Okay, so it’s got a nice grip on here. It almost feels like I don’t know whether you’ve had a mini magnite torch back in the day, but feels really good in the hand. And then you’ve got a real nice quality square on the end. And obviously your magnetic attachment to pop it back on the bag. Just wanted to jump in there. I just wanted to show you how easy the groove it is to take apart and refill. You just unscrew this. So essentially it’s three parts. So you got your brush there. So you got the main tube you hold onto here. You pull that out. You’ve then got this little sort of like vessel. So this end. So the pointy end is the bit that unscrews. So all the mechanical bits are at this end. I never fill it right up just in case. I haven’t had any leaks yet. I’ve been using this for a while, the groove it, but um yeah, no leaks yet, but I never fill it right up. And that is the amount of water you’re carrying. Okay. And that will last me about two rounds. There you go. You groove it. Peel, peel, peel, peel is ready to go. Let’s give it a test clean. This has been painful as well having a dirty club in my bag, but I’m doing this for you guys. So, oh no. Let’s have a good look at that. So, that’s pretty dirty. All right, let’s see how this works. So, let’s get the pump on the nice lot of water. So, the well, I’ve been using this quite a lot recently. The well will last you for about two rounds, and I clean my clubs religiously. Right. Bit more water. So, this is definitely going to last you for a round. All right. So, getting that really deep. Oh, that’s coming up lovely already. Right, there we go. And you can see grooves are very clean in there. There’s the club. It’s ready to go back into the bag and hit another shot. I know someone with possibly the dirtiest clubs in golf. We’re going to go to undercover golf, get him on the Trackman, and see the difference between using the Groove It with his dirty clubs and the spin he gets on that with his wedge. We’re going to clean his clubs with the Groove It and then test the club again on Trackman to see what the spin differences are. Is it worth you cleaning your clubs all the way round? So, we’re going to test today whether the Groove Hit will improve the spin rate on Fraser’s golf clubs. Yeah. So, Phrase, what do you think? Uh, I mean, you know, everyone talks about clean grooves for spin, don’t they? They do. So, I mean, I don’t think I’m at a level where I need to worry about spin, if I’m honest. So, 133 yards out with Fraser’s dirty pitching wedge. Pitching wedge. You can’t even see it. Your mouth is so dirty. Yeah, I know. Need to clean that out with a groove. It get that bar open there, boy. Yeah. Not good. online. Oh. Oh, yeah. Stopped on a dime. Right guys, so 7,631 revs of spin. Pretty central strike, 100 ball speed, 129.8 carry, 132.3 total. Right then, friends, let’s clean it. Let’s clean this dirty club and see what the difference is. Let’s go. Yeah. So, this is your groove it. Get it on there. Give it a good old Give it a good old clean. Good old fashioned scrubbing. Get rid of all those shank marks. Do you think you’re going to see any difference in your spin? I mean, you’ve got it, haven’t you? It’s a pitching wedge. And you know, I’m not bloody Tiger Woods, but I It did stop on a dime, didn’t it? Yeah. Is it going to come back a bit? Yeah. Bit of zip. Do you know what I mean? Be interested to see. And it’s designed like a little curve, isn’t it? This Yeah. Just pure water in there, Phase, as well. There’s no like there’s no soap or anything. Bit thirsty on the course. Yep. You can just squirt it away. But I I love using this. Look at that. That looks amazing. That’s just my fingerprint. We’ll dry them off. Yeah, that’s got real Oh, you can even feel them. It’s got real deep in those grooves. Right. Yes. Let’s go try. Let’s go see if it improves for you, shall we? Yep. Oh, look at that. Look at that. Catch it in this sort of shimmering light. Yeah. Look. Absolutely beautiful. That’s a nice clean wedge. So, we’ve got 7,631 revs with your dirty club. Yeah. Turn over, baby. There you go. There we go. Fraser’s hit his clean pitching wedge here. So, we’ve got 8,172 compared to 7631. So, another 500 revs of spin. I think it spins more on this side and spins less on that side, doesn’t it? Okay. So, you know, I think to get a true we need to be hitting it in the same spot every time. Well, and that’s Well, at our level, 1400. Yeah. So, but at our but our level, that’s interesting. So, basically, if you hit it sweet, you’re getting about 500 revs of spin with a cleaner club face. One more just to back up. Here we go. Yeah. So, there we go. So, 8,31. Yeah. So, it’s a definite improvement, in it, phrase. So, does that make you want to use a groove it? Yeah. To be honest, it wasn’t that taxing. No, it was quite easy, wasn’t it? It’s easy to use and the well inside it will last you for like well for you it probably last you all year but for come with batteries or no no batteries. It’s just all it’s all mechanically pumped a little reservoir in there. Yeah. And collect all does it collects all the mud and stuff? No, it don’t collect the mud. No. So the mud goes on the floor but back for 25 quid. 3 years guarantee on the nylon brushes. So anything goes wrong with them send them back. Yeah. Now replace it. There we go. The dirtiest clubs in golf might be converted, eh? Well, my pitching wedge will be. Yeah, pretty much expected. I think the big difference will be in the rough, you reckon? Yeah, definitely. Wet rough, clean grooves, more spin, clogged grooves, dirty grooves, loads less spin out the rough. The big difference would be the rough, right? And that would equate to distance. Yeah. Y as well. Yeah. Okay. full shot. You could get a flyer type situation because obviously we can’t test that here in these environments. But would you say in general, so if people amateurs out there who are, you know, weekend hackers, would you say a club cleaner is worth investing in? I think it definitely is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. For consistency through the wedges, through the bag. Yeah. Got to be the way to go, isn’t it? And that’s the bottom line cuz Stone Cold said so.
