What if we told you that the number one high school golf facilities in the entire world were right here in South Florida? IMG Academy is known for its excellence in every single sport. They’re recruited all over the country and take home state titles. IMG is second to none with its own massive fieldhouse, entire practice facility, and their own 18hole golf course. So, what do you think it would be like if we went there? There’s only one way to find out. So, this is where the day in the life of a high school student starts. So you wake up in your dorm room, come outside and you immediately have basketball courts, beach volleyball, fire pit, they’re on the hut pool with a massive jumbotron. Life of a high school student is just so different. This would be bonkers if it was a college, but the famous is a high school. Unreal. We’re about to show you the whole campus. And later, we’re going to show you every bit of the golf facility. But first, we want you to know we have three goals for today’s video. One, we’re going to be trying to find a high school golfer that hits the ball further than 300 yd in the air. Two, we want to find some IMG Academy merch that we can give away to someone in the comments. And three, we want to see if one of the coaches can help fix our shanks. That one’s going to be tough, but keep those in mind as we go through today’s video. And now, let’s see campus. All right, we’re here in the fieldhouse. What’s going on today? I’m uh Brian Nash. I’m the VP of athletics here. I’m going to show you a little bit of West Campus here. Well, thanks for having us. Thanks for being here. This is our touchdown terrace. Touchdown Terrace. Okay. Three football teams this year that we have. got our national team, our junior national team, and our state team. Kind of the model is is that you hope that kids progress up. You know, they they come in younger or, you know, a little less talented and then they progress and we’re a national team. Oh, I remember that sound. That brings back Oh gosh, the PTSD right now. Got to get there quicker. You’re up down. This is cool. This is our, you know, metriculation wall. So, and this is just last year. Yeah, last year. Roll, tide, roll, baby. It’s all anyone cares about is that one right there. Imagine your high school sending people to this many division one colleges. That’s crazy. You think you could return one of their serves? No shot. It’s just incredible for a high school to have this type of indoor practice facility. Do you feel like every single one of those students courts gets used pretty regularly? Yeah. Yeah. If you ask our tennis staff, they don’t have enough. So, it’s crazy. And this is kind of everybody that’s currently playing NBA or WNBA. I think we have 17 that are in the NBA right now playing. Those are actually all of Travis Scott golf shoes. Fun fact. Yeah. So these are our younger kids actually working on it. You may not have heard it. I literally walked in and go, “Hey, that guy’s kind of my height.” And then they go, “So this is our middle school team. The eighth graders are 6’2.” These courts become multi-purpose. Like we have a big event. We can run a volleyball tournament on 16 courts if we need to. It’s a little bit different intensity from our middle school practices. What’s your pregame song? What are you listening to? Jesus take the wheel. I was going to Natasha Battingfield. They have touchcreens on their lockers in here. Kids will get their faces up on the lockers and give them give them the effect of a high level locker. These are kind of the history of tennis. You know, Pete Sampers, Jim Curry. Dude, we got to bring that mullet back. Oh, look. They got yours too, Adam. Yeah, my haircut. This truly only scratches the surface. One of the craziest things we learned about this school is that it has almost a one:one student to coach or teacher ratio. So, for the golf team, not only do they have a head coach, a chipping coach, a weightlifting coach, a putting coach, an irons coach, they also have mind coaches that help the golfers mental games as well. And if you have seen our videos, you know that average golfers like ourselves need a lot of help on our mental game. So, we decided it was time for us to take a class on mental sharpness. We’re going into the mind gym. About to get our minds right. I haven’t been to a classroom and so I even brought my book back. Look at you locked in. Oh, look who’s here to join us. The boys are late once again. Raz, we’re behind. Sorry, guys. You sure are. Here’s your materials that you’re going to need for today. We were just briefing our students here who came on time and we’re prepared for class. But what we’re going to be doing in here is we’re going to be in the mind gym. Okay. We’re student athletes. Golf is a mental game. Would you guys agree? Yes. Yes. What percent of practice do you spend training your mental performance? 0%. Oh yeah. That’s tough on us. I think it’s a lot of self-deprecation. Sometimes if I like need to cool off a little bit, I’ll just snap my club in half. Helps me out. Get some anger Sounds like some good emotional regulation there. Don’t take notes on ourselves. On the screen, there’s going to be a number and an object that pop up. What speed do you believe you blink your eyes at? Half a millisecond. Any other guesses? Very fast. So, it’s point4 seconds. And these numbers are going to pop up at 02. So, what does that tell you? You blink your toes. You’re cooked if you blink. You don’t have to write this one down. Just a practice. Jeez. Got it. What did we see? Five. Five. And what else? A football. A football. Your focus needs to be on the number at all times. If you get distracted by the object, you’re not going to be able to write down that answer. The dim dudes Conor and I are going up against Jack and Madd. We’re trying to beat Jack and Maline at the end of this. This is going to be a tough one. You’ll be stopping in between each one, right? Up. Have to be able to reset. Okay, write down the number yourself. Number two. Was not expecting two numbers. Your answer. What are they feeding these kids nowadays? Okay, last one here. It’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish. Trust it. Trust it. It’s a tough day to be a divot dude. Who thinks I got it? I got solved. Okay, let’s see. 0487. That’s all I got. I didn’t see the two up there. Did you get it? Mine, what’d you get? 10. 10. All right, we’ll take it. Good work, Jack. Two. Me and Madlin at the end of the totem pole here. I got 11. 14. 14. And who’s Connor? Who’s Adam? I’m Conor. We should have asked him. Let him figure it out. Test. He should have done his research. He should know. As we can see from TAC, it looks like our highest score is Jack. And that is team. Let’s go. So, how we feeling after the first defeat? I feel okay. This wasn’t going to be my strong suit. No shot. What are some helpful selft talk we can take into this next dino board station? You got this. You’re literally 12 years older than the people you’re playing against. So, you should be able to do this. Go, Connor. Go. So, we’re going to head back here. This is going to be 2v2. We do this together at the same time. Not. No. No. So, it’s going to be we’re going to rotate. Wrong. Wrong. The biggest thing you’re going to see red lights. When that light flashes, you have a second to hit that light. There’s going to be another one that pops up. You got to hit that one. You’re going to go for 30 seconds and then the next partner is going after that. the highest score at the end, they’re going to get a point. All right, starting in three, two, one, go. Let’s go. Square. Here we go. Quick hands. See the sound? It makes you don’t be afraid to hit it hard. There you go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Three, two, one. Here we go. Keep it going. Yeah, there you go. Hot streaks to score over there. Here we go. Yep. There we go. There we go. IMG is dialed in today. I keep missing the dots. Come back. Come on. Come on. Here we go. 20 seconds. 20 seconds. 3 2 1 Time. So, team IMFG 157. No, wait. The divot dudes 148. Wait, is it higher or lower? What’s better? You want higher? Dang it. I think the first round I think you got three. Ben was 11. If we look this year, your guys’s average reaction time was 0 59 over here. 64. You’re a little bit quicker, but somehow they got more more dots still. That’s okay. Teaming up two. Up two. After taking the L, it was on to game number two where we had to line up these blocks to match the cards in a certain amount of time. And it did not get better for us. So confused right now. However, we are almost positive this one was rigged against us. Someone find this out for me cuz I don’t believe Con or I not have the right ones. It’s rigged. Well, oh no. See, it’s looking a little sabotaged. There we go. After going down 300, we had to bring in some of our own mind games. And it worked. We convinced him to go triple or nothing on the final challenge to give ourselves one last chance to tie it up. Six. Seven. Wow. That’s the highest score of the day so far. You know, hey, it’s not about how you start, it’s how you finish. All right, all the marbles. Three, two, one. Here we go. Come on. Here we go. Who wants eight? Here we go. There we go. We’re moving. We’re moving. We’re thinking we’re doing here. Come on, madam. Lock it in. Lock it in. Here we go. Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick. 15 seconds. Finish strong, madam. You got it in right now. Hands up. Exactly. Coach Carlos, what do we Oh, that’s not it. Diva dudes, we have an 85 team IMG. That’s really good. 77 and the winner is the dude. All right, man. We’ll get them next time. I honestly can’t believe we pulled that off. And just as a quick reminder, these are our three goals for the video that we’re trying to cross off as we show you the facilities. But right now, it’s time for lunch. Like we’re back in high school going through the cafeteria which I never did at all. So this is actually my first time ever having cafeteria food. What did you eat in high school? Brought it every day. Yeah, packed my lunch. I did most of the time, but sometimes I would forget my thing at home. My mom would be mad cuz I didn’t have to buy lunch. I would have been so much bigger in high school, dude. Little zoo up in there. A little zoo up there. Little cucumber. You like them the long ways though, don’t you? Yeah. They have chopsticks for you. That’s great. There’s literally a campus store. And while we’re at the campus store, we’re going to be doing a giveaway. We’ll be giving away a IMG backpack. We’re going to get one in there. Put some goodies in there. And we’ll be giving away to a subscriber. So, let us know what your favorite part of this whole tour was. What is this mask? This is like fair body. Can I put that on? How’s that weird? Yeah, you I don’t know actually. Yeah, I don’t know if I would. Yeah, this is nice. I think I’m going to get this for River. I think she’ll like that. Going to come in the bag. We’re going to get a Gatorade bottle, a book bag. This will be the last thing. IMG TP5X logoed golf balls. So, they have a official signing day pin sponsor, Uniball. Like you know your school’s pumping out athletes when you have a literal pin company sponsoring you because they’re signing something to you scholarship deals. This is the performance and sports and science and sports performance performance and sports science center aka the weight room aka where I have never been. What’s up guys? How are we doing? Great. How are you doing? Great. We lifting today. How far do you can get like 315? I can get 315. Yeah. Are you a lefty? I can pop 300. Like six or seven around six or seven. That seems like a good number. Yeah. My name is Jared White. I’m senior director of athletic and personal development. Basically, athletic and personal development is our sports medicine, strength conditioning, performance science, mental performance, and our performance nutrition department. Really, we work alongside sport to help these kids do what they can do to the the optimal level, you know. So, every rack on campus now has uh video capabilities. So, basically what we’re looking at is how fast can the kids move a barbell. The all the different lifts are queued up in that touchcreen on the iPad there. I’m sorry to interrupt. This is Brian Walker. Nice to meet you. What’s up, man? I have to interrupt you. What do you What do you do here? So, I’m an assistant head of strength conditioning here. I oversee the baseball program here. That’s awesome. Heck yeah. I’m about to get these guys going. So, say hi. Thanks for saying the data that the kids get here will go up to our strength coaches and basically every kid can see their progress. We can send that to parents. So, say they’re from New York, a parent can sit at home and see how their kid did. 100%. Yeah. Yeah. So golf does this as well, but all of our sports use these force deck platforms. Okay. Yeah. And basically what these platforms show us is how much ground force they’re producing. Do they have any asymmetries, which obviously is a strong correlation to golf as well. So should we test one of these real quick? We can definitely set that up. We need to get a test, see how that possibly the most shocking part of the facilities was how high tech the weight room is. And on top of that, they have a Gatorade bar, a massive recovery room with hot tubs, underwater treadmills, chiropractors, and massage therapists. And to top it off, there’s an entire second gym that’s called the Wubble. It’s a legitimate bubble. We put three basketball courts in here. After CO, we moved back over to our courts. Then we turfed this. Obviously, with 1600 kids working out all the time, uh, this gives us another area to do some things. You actually have golfers down here doing sprint testing right now. Different to see golfers doing it. You don’t see golfers sprint. What do you think your vertical? Put in the comments right now who has the highest vertical, me or Connor. My vertical’s probably dropped. I would say 10 in. Same. I bet I’m like low 20. I bet I’m 27 in. And it used to be 35 in. I bet we’re about the same. And my hands have to be here. [Applause] 17.3. 17.3. Wow. Okay. All right. It got worse. Okay. Awesome. Can’t do anymore. All right. Okay. All right. What’s normal? That’s pretty good. That’s okay. Yeah. Actual. Yeah. You just tell me that made me feel good. No. Hands on hip. 18 is pretty good. Okay. Got some work to do. I felt so high, too. He didn’t look very high. I feel like you probably didn’t. We want to see Conor’s results. He embarrassed himself on the horse plates over there. How a 30-year-old stacks up against these high school. These are just charts we make for them after they jump so they can see kind of where they stack up for their age group. You’re over 16. Yeah. Do you know what you jumped? It said 19. Okay. Yeah. So, you’re you’re well above our outstanding. This is golf averages for the past 3 years. Boys over 16. Let’s go. You going to do your 20 yard? I’m down. It’s not set up anymore. I’m just standing. What’s a What’s the time? What What’s probably the best of these kids? 291. 291. Got to be 291. This is one chance at greatness. I’ve not sprinted since college. Let’s go. I guarantee you, I can feel it one more than my hand. Your knee is going to be toast tomorrow. I can feel it. Now that we’re done with class and the workout, it’s finally time for us to head out to the golf facilities. We’ve already checked one goal off the list, and now it’s time to see if we can check off the last two. Hello. Hi. See you. How you doing? Great, man. This is the official div. Nice to meet you. I feel already like I’ve I’ve dropped 10 years just meeting you. Yeah, your destiny to getting better and learning more happens through that door. So, let’s take our first walk. Okay, let’s go. It’s what I’ve been needing. To the left hand side of here, we’ve got our tour studio. This This really is what we call the candy shop. Everything you can think of. Every gizmo, every gadget, we know where your left ear is. We know how big your left nostril is. Everything from measurement, we measure in here. And you’ve got every club brand and everything in here. It looks like no brand agnostic or just anybody and everybody. We’re in a high school right now. Yeah, it’s unreal. So this is our uh putting room. Okay, this this is where I need to be 90% of the time is working on my putting. What we’ve done is we’ve created a room that’s it’s gified and at the same time it uses Sam putt lab which is the Trackman version of putting. So we try really hard to get the students working what we say the most important club in the bag because it’s the one you use the most. That and the 15th club. You know what the 15th club is? Your brain. The one between your ears. I was going foot way. I wasn’t really sure on footware. I use that one a lot. So, this is where we do everything. Notice the nets to the left hand side. We use the nets anytime we want to focus on movement. The golf range is set up with different zones and areas. Front range over here we call zone 2 predominantly for full swing trackman work we might do over there as well. This is known as zone 5. We incorporate that with our indoor studio a little bit. So if you were an instructor and you get zone 5, you would also have the ability to work with this to a studio inside and you’ll be designated one one short game area as well. So crazy to think standing here that like the next Scotty Shappler is probably somewhere else right now. Yeah, it could be these three kids taking photos of us right here. Can I get a picture? Yeah, man. What’s up? Absolutely, man. You’re probably his driver the farthest out of this group. Oh. All right. We’ll we’ll get a competition later. Any Georgia boys in here? No Georgia boys. No golfers in Georgia. Who’s got just smile when they know I was like what’s up guys? Over here at the academy the magic word is connection. We can have the best infrastructures the best programs in the world but if we can’t connect with the kids we’re wasting our time. Right young man. Would you like to shot and show these guys what you can do? Smoked. He smoked it. Right. Smoked. So here’s the thing right cuz the end of the day it’s Monday and I got to earn some money here. So we’re going to have a driving competition. All right cuz I haven’t swung the golf club for the last 15 years. So, this is going to be pretty ugly. All right. This is the first swing in 15 years. 15 years. Honestly, we’re going to do a deal, you and I. I’m going to buy you a steak dinner if you hit it further than me. And if you don’t hit it further than me, you buy me the steak dinner. However, there’s a little rule. It’s my rules. Understand? Okay. Good. A shaker. What What rule is it? Oh, you don’t have to rule. Smart man. I don’t I don’t know about that. There’s a bit of a size difference, isn’t it? Yeah. A little bit. Okay. And I remember I spent six years on tour, so let’s just keep it my rules. All right. All right. Good. He got you got peer pressure, dude. He got first time in 15 years. Oh no. That was much further than I thought it was going to be. Let’s have a look. You go. All right. Off your knees. He’s got to go on his knees, too. So, here’s the thing. He’s going to go on his knees. Now, here’s the thing. The object is to hit the ball. Okay. So, I just want to be very clear on it. So, ladies and gentlemen, will I get a steak dinner tonight or will it just be bread and butter? The big bowl is no. So, thank you very much for the steak dinner. So kind of you. Thank you so much. Okay, that is nice of you, man. Part of all this and all this bit of fun is one thing. Building that connection. He’s not going to remember the grip change. He’s going to remember paying me a stick. At least you hit the ball. I don’t think I would hit the ball at all. Can we put it to the test? We can. He’s okay with us using his driver. Oh, we’re going to do that. Oh, boy. All right. All right. I like my odds. I see. I said I would do the exact same thing. The divots’s online. That’s a hard shot. I don’t practice that at all. Lotion on my hand. This is floppy driver. That’s so hard. So hard. How did he do it for I think you’ve probably just got to stay Guinness. Let’s go. Yours rolled for it. I know we’re playing roll out. We have Mike here at IMG Academy, the master club fitter for all the all the golf program. All 200 kids. 200 kids. That is a lot of Trackman golf balls that you’re a lot. A lot of the people come in here, they look at Trackman and they want to see how far am I carrying it and what is the overall total? And I’ll get that out of you by you picking your heads. You’ll see it once you’ve determined those heads that you’ve got. We’ll go outside and then now you get to start doing turf interaction. One of our goals for today, we’re trying to see if we can find a high schooler that can carry the ball farther than 300 yards. You think there’s someone here that can do that? I think the guy that you’re going to be playing with, Jack Bachman, can do that. That’s him. Well, he’s going to be right in the middle of our video then. Do you want to see downstairs? Definitely. This is where all the magic happens. Huh. This is where I can do all the repair work in here. I’ve got a saw. I’ve got a grinding table. I’ve got a sander. And I do a lot of the work in here. I can measure everything. So, it’s like a tour truck. It’s not a tour truck, tour truck for se, but if I need to grind some wedges down, I can do that for them beforehand. Custom wedge grinds. This is at a high school facility. You have a basically a tour van wherever you go. It’s just incredible. Years ago, someone once asked me, “If you had to go on a desert island, what would be the one piece of training equipment you would take?” and your job was to train three top players. It wouldn’t be a Doppler radar system. It wouldn’t be anything you plug in or any Wi-Fi. So, I’m going to show you one of the most important swing training aids. And this is it right now. This is probably one of the most invaluable training aids that anyone can have. And here’s the secret, boys, cuz everyone’s looking for the magic source. You know, the magic source. I’m looking for the magic. Think about this. Golf is a game of three. There’s only three things can happen at any one time. Well, take the club face. I can hit it off the toe, the middle, or the heel. Three. I can either hit it off the bottom, middle, or top. Three. Jump in, big fella. Oh, boy. I want you to place the club here. And if it snaps in half, it’s okay. But I want you to have the confidence to swing at 50% back and forward. And don’t don’t hit. I don’t want to hit this thing. Don’t hit the clankers. Let’s go. Beautiful. Okay. Which side was bothering you most? I was probably more conscious of the back swing for sure. Go slowly what your normal way would be. You can see as you go back, you see there’s a catch. Let’s go back down again. Now he’s right on the border line. Oh gosh. Beautiful. Can you see how easily imbalance this is? It is. Yeah. I’ve never seen him swing this well before. You want to try? Sure, dude. Yeah. It’s It’s kind of freaky. I know. As if someone has an inside takeaway. I’m already terrified. Let’s go. Okay. So, that moves pretty well. Have you ever had someone just snap a club on this? Oh, very regularly. Okay. Keeps Mike in business. I would be curious to try that at some point with the ball. We’ll set one outside for you boys. I think if you like it, we’ll just get the owner to stand there and send you a couple. All right. Shake on that. So, we’ve gotten the the word from the faculty. Let’s see how the students actually feel like. So, we’re in the middle of practice right now. What are we working on today? I’m just warming up. Um, we’re going to do some Trackman testing. So, get the numbers down. And then over there we were doing a putting course trying to see like where we are for the putting. So what’s your first thing when you go on the mat? What’s your first club you hit? 58 lose. Get the ball up in the air. Yeah. Kapalua and Athletic Atlanta Athletic Club has head coach over here. Have you played Kapalua? No. I went there for my 14th birthday. Got the head covers. That’s awesome. That’s really cool. How long have you been at IMG? It’s my third year and I’m a senior. All the coaches and stuff have been saying how awesome it is. So as a student on the inside, what do you think? Is it pretty awesome? Yeah, it’s awesome. I mean, getting prepared for like the college level is it’s the best place to be. Like, I live in the dorms, first of all, dorm life. Like, no other high schooler really gets experience that. And then just kind of being on the same schedule. Like, when I was talking to a lot of colleges and asking about their daily schedule, it was almost identical to it. So, how do you feel about playing a match tomorrow? I’m really excited. It’s going to be good competition. I think I think he might I think he might cook us. No, no, we’ll see. I am terrified. This is a big moment for our video. See if we can fix the shank. You see these guys right here in the black? They’re in play. They are very much in play. I need to back up. So, it’s DDay. Okay. Okay. So, listen. All right. Let’s go. Step in. Oh, we’re doing it. Okay. So, we’ve got the tour level. We’ve got the amateur level. The level that if you hit it from here, you should be playing chess. All right. Here we go. It’s a nice and easy swing. Okay. Nice. Straight. Were you conscious of it at all? A little bit. Not a whole lot. We making it harder. Okay. All right. Okay. Well, just as I’m starting to feel okay. Wrong answer, big guy. Dang. That was I was actually very conscious. It was really scary. Okay. So, now we’re medium level. Oh boy. That was a huzzle. And I’m supposed to hit that ball now. What percentage of swing should I be giving this right now? Everything you’ve got. Everything you’ve got. Okay. We’re either doing this or we’re not. Okay. Should we tell him he’s in play right now? Take your position, my friend. Okay. Right. So, we’re going to go all the way. There we go. Do it slowly. Wonderful. And then go all the way through. All the way up here. That’s all the way. So he can do it. Okay, let’s do it high speed. I hit it before I even swung. You almost hit me. I’m going to have to put this somewhere else. Everyone around is like, yo, get these guys out of here. Sorry guys. There’s this big thing called the club head. Right. But you have such a skill that you can hit it here. Dude, if we had center shafted irons, you know, I think if anybody’s watching this right now, if anybody can make a steel feral, I think we have a customer here. Yeah, absolutely. I’ll buy that immediately. The top turn. Turn your body. That’s it. There you go. Oh yeah. Full turn. That’s like wrestling with a polar bear, isn’t it? I’ve never seen him do that. I knock it. I don’t think his body’s built that way. No, it’s not. He’s too strong and stiff. There we go. Get to the other side of it. Ready? All right. Turn that shoulder. Go. What do they say? Right. Don’t work with kids, animals, or YouTubers. Sorry. All right. I Does he breathe in or out of the top of his back? What are we doing? What are we doing? So, how far do you think you carry your driver? 285. 290 maybe. Okay. Okay. 285. 290. That’s where I think at least I hope so. We’re at IMG Academy. Jack is one of the best golfers. He’s challenging him to 285 yd carry distance with his driver. So, you have to aim at a certain angle of range for him to be able to hit this cuz he’s hitting it through the ring. Three shots, brother. Doesn’t matter where it goes. But your coach is here, so it might matter where it goes. It just it needs to not hit them. Yeah. I mean, okay. 166 ball speed. 285 on the money. I've been watching the channel for a while now and you guys don't have a single video I don't like, but this is just amazing. All great stuff. Keep up the good work!

  3. This has to be the best video yet. You two always bring the energy. The best part has to be both your comments through out the tour

  4. I enjoyed this video and can’t wait for the match. That golf facility is amazing!

  5. Okay, I had a difficult time asking my parents to pay the $35 equipment fee each year I played football in high school. Let alone 100K+ a year for high school. Love you guys, but 😲

  6. Conner is a great athlete. Looked it up and wasn’t surprised to see he was on the Auburn football team for a couple of years.

  7. We used to whip their butts in Baseball. They are a smaller school that usually wins in their class but some local schools can beat them.

  8. Best part is hitting the ball on the knees. Should be incorporated in your next pro shop challenge if it falls to a sudden death situation.
