Active investigation here in the neighborhood to find any leads on who to hold responsible for taking their vehicle out on the course last night.

Someone really wanted to make sure the pin was on the lower level

  5. BastionofIPOs

Someone did this by my house and he got arrested and spent like 150k and 5 years dealing with it lol

Ex club pro. Happened once at our club. Cart barn was broken into. Several electric carts taken onto the course – greens, tees, traps, etc. We got lucky. One of the kids dropped his wallet in a cart without knowing it. All busted.

Look for the rich parents, the ones who own a construction company or commercial cleaning company etc. the kid should have an oversized truck with a lift and underglow lights.

Start with the guy that missed a 3 footer for a skin

From the looks of it you’re looking for a diesel of some sort (judging by the “wrinkling” of the turf that isn’t ruts and is likely from the front tires of a heavy truck) and a lucky one cause a few more feet to the right and they’d have caught the bunker on a not so opportune line.

This sucks. I feel for the course and the golfers that have to deal with it

To think that some people believe in universal salvation….

Potentially ruining your future for a few donuts… hope the club can pull through and manage without that hole for a bit

Someone got video of the suspect or a vehicle. It will turn up soon.

Check the security cameras at the local car washes. Cops are pretty lazy.It might be hard to do.But that’s a lot of money.

I wouldn’t wish this on my least favourite course

God people are dumb. Super here. Grounds will do their very best to give it a quick fix to try to allow play before the major fix and golfers will complain like we did it.

  16. Once they’re caught they should be tied to the 150 yard sign in the driving range

My local 9-hole muni has been victimized a couple times by people who drive their vehicles onto the course from the road (therefore not passing by the clubhouse), it sucks.

The course *should* put up a fence along the road, but there’s no money for it. At least not for one that doesn’t make the course look like a prison yard.

We just had this happen in the last month at our club. Caught three kids on e-bikes tearing up a green. Parents have been held financially responsible.

This is the kinda thing reward money will get some one to sell out quick

Sucks. It will be a year + before that green is back to playable.

  21. They deserve to go under the jailhouse. This is horrible.

    I truly want them caught.

Heartbreaking. Mean and/or destructive drunks are the worst.

My buddy did this in a farmers field at like 16- needless to say we spent a day with a shovel filling it back in. Thankfully he didn’t have tee times booked and the crop had been pulled already.

Hey OP! The facility probably gives employees wifi access. Mgmt should be able to see if any of them connected around the time of the incident.

  25. triiiiilllll

Listen, it’s fucked up and wrong but also just plain stupid. No call to ever do this kind of brainless vandalism…..but why would you target a facility that is patronized by, on average, the most litigious segments of the general population???

Former assistant pro. Worked at a country club in the middle of nowhere. Full of kids who thought they were hot shit because mommy and daddy had a membership. After I locked up the pro shop and went home, our outside staff was waiting around for the last of the carts. For whatever reason, they let 3 of these kids have carts. They went out on the course and started drag racing and drifting all over the place on the back nine, which was behind a ridge and out of sight. Luckily one of their parents was eating dinner out on the upstairs patio when he recognized his son in one of the carts. He and another member went out there and caught them in the act. Called the director of golf out there to report what happened. He was the chillest guy in the world… and he was livid. Cussed out the kids, cussed out the outside staff and fired them on the spot, and told the parents of the kids that all of their memberships were officially on probation and their golf course rights indefinitely revoked. I got called out there to put away the last of the carts and lock up the cart barn. The DOG was helping me but I could tell he was so upset that I told him not to worry about it. He just nodded and went to his office lol.

A little backstory… this course was once a prominent country club and was going through some financial struggles over the past 20ish years. This DOG was brought in to help turn it around, and then he has these kids do that to the course. Turf repair and replacement ain’t cheap.

Last I heard he’s still there though.

This happened near us and the kid drove straight home, they just followed the dirt trail on the road
