MANHATTAN, Kan. – The North Dakota State Women’s Golf team tied for sixth place after nearly two full rounds of play at the Powercat Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Course on Monday afternoon. The second round was suspended until tomorrow due to darkness.

Norah Roberts (78) led the Bison in round one. Roberts tallied three birdies and nine holes at par to finish the first round at +6 overall. Hannah Dunk (79) and Madi Hicks (80) followed just behind Roberts. Dunk finished round one +7, and Hicks +8 overall.

Avery Bartels (82) was the final scoring Bison from the first 18-holes and was +10 after the first round. Cora Larson (86) wrapped up the NDSU golfers from round one, finishing the first round of play +14.

Hicks paced the Bison through the second round of play. Hicks fired two birdies and 12 holes at par to finish +2 in the second round and is +10 overall heading into the final round.

Bartels improved her round one score by five strokes, carding three birdies and seven holes at par to finish round two +5. Bartels is +15 overall heading into day two.

Dunk, Roberts, and Larson will all finish their final hole of round two on Tuesday morning. Through 17 holes of the second round, Dunk is +5 and +12 overall, Roberts +7 on the round and +13 overall, and Larson +8 on the round at +22 overall.

As a team, the Bison (319) were tied for tenth with Lindenwood (319) after the first round of play and climbed to sixth following most of the second round. NDSU is tied with Oakland (309), who is through 16 for the second round. Host Kansas State (284) currently leads by 20 shots through 16 holes of the second round. Cincinnati (299) is second through 16 holes of the second round, tied with Wichita State (303).
