[Music] Now, the truth is I’m a little bit nervous about this because my game’s been all over the place at the minute, and I’m hoping that this is going to fix it a little bit. Oh, yes. Oh, what a strike. That could be close to him. I can’t see it. Can’t see these now. Let me flash on for you. Hi guys. Welcome back to Trip T Golf. So, you’ll have seen from the previous video, we bought these bad boys, the Forgan St. Andrews one length cheap irons from Amazon. Um, I wanted to go to the driving range with them. Problem is the driving range at Darington is not quite ready for the Trackman yet. So, the screens are open. Everything else is just not gone live, I guess. So, I wanted to put them in a real life golfing situation. And what a better place to do that than down here at my favorite cheap golf course, Aston Park. And I can say that because that’s what it’s geared up to be. A round of golf at this time of the night is less than £9. And this course is probably looking the best I think I’ve ever seen it look. So, can we break 40 using these one length irons? Now, I will tell you now, um, at the range, everything went left to right quite badly, and it caused me a little bit of concern. So, we’re going to put them in a real um golfing situation. We’re going to bring them out on the course. We’re simply going to play from the white TE’s today down here. We’re going to see if we can break 40 using these. Now, just a reminder, this is what we’re dealing with. Graphite shafts, regular shafts, graphite for grips, and these very green heads. So, let’s see what we can do. First drive. Come around. Not nice. Not good. I just hope I don’t have to wait all time. Well, we’re safe. Right. So, the first shot on course is going to be a pitching wedge. Wow. Pitching that long a pitching wedge feels weird. Um, gentle one at that, I think. Not that gentle. Now, the truth is I’m a little bit nervous about this because my game’s been all over the place at the minute. And I’m hoping that this is going to fix it a little bit. And that should have been a gap wedge really because that pitching wedge has gone not far off pin eye, just completely to the to the right. Got a little gap wedge. Let’s see if we can just get it in and there. Now, usually notoriously I get a bogey on this hole. Wow. This is going to be where I really feel it. Seven iron length gap wedge. Oh, I can feel me wet. Going to be topping me wedges. Put with a new grip on as well. Really treating myself a minute for par. That is rolling. So true. These greens, Jamie, honestly, what a job. That’s not to do with irons. All to do with that putter. The next hole is um a perfect opportunity for me to use the four iron cuz if I use the driver on this, I sometimes get caught in the trees on the right hand side. So, I’m going to take the four iron with the same shaft as a seven. And let’s see if I can get down there. straight down middle. I don’t think it’s gone very far, but I couldn’t ask for a more accurate strike. Look how this course looks on camera, honestly. £820 for a round of golf. So, I reckon I’ve got about 70 yards if that. Straight down the middle. Perfect shot. Um, I’m on a bit of a hill, but yeah, gap wedge in hand. Should be able to carry me gap wedge 7. No, not like that. Not under it. Fat it. I’ll tell you what though, it’s still nearly meant to edge bloody green. Anybody that does watch the channel will know that I’m not a professional golfer. Um, I just want clubs to work for me and I know that these are going to take some getting used to, especially given that gap wedge that I’ve just swung there was the same length of a seven iron. It’s It’s strange. It’s weird. It really is. But we’re on the edge of the green and we’ve still got the opportunity of chipping on and getting a par. So, it is going to have to run a little bit. The look behind the club. All right. They look big. Well, that’s All right, we got another huge foot for par. Um, and it’s a bit of a tricky one. I tell you what, it were tracking. It were tracking. It went online with that. But that’s my first bogey. And that was down to the irons. Well, iron/player. So, hole three. It’s a par three. I’ve got a six iron in me hand. Um, if I remember rightly from playing here with my dad last week, it’s about 170 yards as from the white TE’s. Uh, so there’s a bunker about 140 away. The wind is going left to right quite heavily. So, yeah, wish me luck, I guess. [Music] It’s on the money in all fairness. It’s just going right now. Okay. It just died at the last minute. Like I should have Well, I’ve just told you that the wind’s really strong, so maybe it was the wind. You don’t get much more pin eye than that. Gap wedge in hand. Gripping down a little bit and seeing if I can dink it on and guarantee myself a par. on them roll. Not guaranteed by any means, but uh looks relatively straight. [Music] There we go. One over through three. Another perfect hole for the four iron. So that’s what I’ve got in my hand. It is a par 4. It is 312 yds. Four iron. Let’s see if we can hit it straight again. Oh yes. Oh, what a strike. That could be close to him. Wow, that felt a hell of a lot better. Okay, so the wind’s definitely picking up now. I’m super happy with that T-shot. I’ve probably got about 50 yards left in um gap wedge again. This is going to It just feels bizarre, but we’re just going to go for a little chip on. [Music] It’s on target. Oh, don’t be too long. I think it is you now. I’m not so sure that’s held on to the back. Definitely on there now. So I regret to inform you that it’s rolled off. We’ve gone too far. Just get it somewhere near. Give yourself a chance. Come on. No. Yes. Ooh. I’m getting attacked by flies. And now the flag. Wow. Okay. So, interestingly, they’re the yellow pegs there and the reds in the distance. But maybe I’m just being thick, but I ain’t seeing no whites. So, I’m going to go from here where other people look like they’ve gone. Just so I can say that I’ve still gone a little bit further back than the yellows. I guess we’re on all five. We’re still being held up in the distance. Um on all five, we won over considering how I hit them in the range earlier. I’ve been really impressed so far. So, I’m hoping that continues. We’ll definitely get the chance to use a mid iron on this one. Um I’ve got the wind behind me, but the line is that V that you see in the trees there. If I can get it to just go over there. Um I shouldn’t get him just in case. No, we’ve gone too straight. We’ll be all right, but we’re going to have one hell of a shot in afterwards. A bit of a quandry here because I’ve got about 170. I’ve got a bit of wind behind me. And I’m stuck with what clubs to go for. So, I’ve opted for a seven iron and that’s what swing we’re going to try and hit on it. Wind behind us. I don’t think this needs to be a full seven, you know. I mean, that’s lovely. It’s just set it side of green. It’s just done that left to right thing again at the end. So, yeah, that was the best strike I’ve had all game. Um 150 marker is I’m in line well I’m not in line with it yet but we had about 175 maybe maybe a little bit more. Um and I’ve just hit that 7 iron and it’s gone to the side of the green now. I don’t know if it quite made it but I did take a little bit off it. The 150 marker is there. I don’t know if you can see that actually. So yeah, that was definitely the best strike, the best feel. I might be getting used to these a little bit. Just that little bit of left or right at the end cuz that was going straight for the flag. Well, straight for the green anyway and then it just dipped off at the end. I was just off the green. You see, I won’t exaggerate. But we’re not going to put Oh, the wind is strong. Right. Right. So, we sat on a bit of a there’s not much grass on it on this little bit of a mound, but all we need is a little dink on and then for it to run near that hole. Oh, no. I think I might have actually got a bit of spin on that. Birdie, no, we haven’t. Yeah, we have this for birdie. Please don’t fall over camera. I’m more nervous about that than I am on the put. We had the line again. Just not give it any tone. You’ve got to give it some pull. We’ll take a P. Disappointing that really. Okay, so hole six, 235 yard par three. Um, and when I thought about these clubs and I thought about the potential of a 4 iron in a 7 iron shaft, this is the hole I envisioned it being okay for. So, I don’t know. Obviously, we’ve done a couple of T-shots now with this. We’ve got just over 200 yards. This could be the secret. One thing to say before you hit the T-shot, you [Music] Oh, no. off top that one. It’s going to work out all right though. It’s going to leave me a little chip on. Jesus, that hurt, did that? How did I top a four iron with a seven iron shaft? So, that was definitely my worst shot of the day with the 4 iron. But do you know what? Like I said at the beginning of the video, it’s going to take some getting used to. It’s getting dark out here now and we’ve got three holes left. Um, yeah. Hopefully you’ll still be able to see. Little dink on. Oh god. This is going to make that wedge even worse. Can we just dink it with this? That could be good. That could be really good. Woo. We could have just rescued a p some marks on them. What it is. I’m going to have to get a rig along. Is it getting dark? It could look like it could potentially rain. Right. So, I’ve got this for par. Come on. Less said about that better, I think. Right. So, we’re on 07. It’s getting dark now. Um, I’m going to have to play well to be able to find my ball. This is 375 yards. Um, there’s a ditch that very much comes into play when you’re playing from these white TE’s. Uh, if I can get over that, it’s one hell of a drive. That should definitely be findable. That’s for sure. I don’t want that back. Right. So, as it turns out, my eyesight is appalling. And I thought that went straight down middle of the fairway, but it’s actually come to the right hand side. So I’m in a bit of rough here. I’m about 120. So I’ve got a 9 ir. I’m going to go for a bit of a relaxed. So if this goes over, it could be lost. But hey, it was nice and relaxed. I can’t see it. It looked like it were going directly towards the pin, but I can’t see these now at all. So, it’s going to be a nice guess for you and me. I’m either on the green putty for birdie. It’s got nowhere near or it’s gone over back. The camera’s at the side of my head. So, you’re going to see when I see we’re going straight for a flag. Is there a That better not be it. But if that’s it, it’s well short. No, that’s not a ball, is it? No. So, Oh, it’s just short. I thought it felt a bit too relaxed. That is a ball in it. No, it’s on green. Bloody hell. That’s how bad my eyes are. I actually thought that were all over the flag and then I Anyway, got to put for birdie uh left to right potentially. You’re leaving them all short, mate. That’s not even close. That only went in cuz it hit that there. I don’t know what it is, but it hit that. Wow. Right. So, unbelievably, we threw seven and we’re still only one over. I could quite easily do four over on this one hole. It’s the hardest hole on the course. And I am not going to be able to see where my drive goes at all. It’s going to be purely off feel is this. It just don’t look dark on there. But honestly, believe me, it is. You don’t get a decent t-shot. You’re boogered because the flag’s over there. So, you’ve got to be able to give yourself at least a little bit of a look. Um, I’m not sure I’m going to be able to do it from these white TE’s. The wind is going aggressively that way. Don’t know if you can hear it on me. [Music] All right, that’s gone dead straight towards that telegraph pole. I said that on last one and it ended up being to the left. So, they’re coming off here. I’ve got a seven iron. I’m about 170 away and I’m going to try and sling it round. I’m going to try and draw the hell out of this ball. I have done. It’s not going to have it. I have no idea, but definitely felt like I caught the floor. Right. So, the flag’s here. My ball’s there. Oh, me balls there. So, we drew it around just not enough. Take this gap wedge, which I’m not a big fan of. I’m not going to lie. Can’t seem to get much height on it. Grip down on it. Okay. For a minute. Just for a minute. I thought it were going in. Playing on instinct here, boys. Oh, just But we got it. Right. We’re still one over. So, whatever happens on this next hole, I’m going to play with these clubs tomorrow. I’ve decided that already. I’ll give you a little bit of a I’ll give you a little bit of a summary of what I think of the irons when we get back to the car park. this last hole. This is going to be interesting. So, usually all night at Austin, we go drivers and we’ll be trying to get it on green for one or I would anyway. It’s 266 yards. Today, I’m going to take a sixiron. No, I ain’t hit five. I’m going to hit a five iron. And the aim is just to get as close to 200 as poss. Um, the problem is I’m not going to see where this goes at all. I don’t I can’t even see where them lads are. I’m just aiming to get this fire by in 200 yards and it should give me a nice little chip in. I think 200’s about where the bunker sits in the middle of the fairway. So, I’ll be able to hopefully tell from the strike if it’s any good. Oh, it’s perfect. If that’s avoided that bunker, that’ll be lovely. and the people in front. I’m liking these irons. All right, so disaster struck a little bit. I’ve only just seen that them lads have just walked off. I can barely see. We’re only 50 yards maybe away. But yeah, so she’s uh [Music] she’s in a bunker. No, don’t go in ditch. I know. I think it’s short. Okie dokie. I can’t believe what just happened. I hit it. I thinned it. I caught the lip of the ditch. I don’t think you’ll ever seen any of it on there. But I’ll take you to the ball. Look how dark it is. Ridiculous. Oh. So, we hit that ditch there. It’s popped up. And it’s turned out to be a very good a very good shot. So, I’ve still got that for par. Put me flash on for you. Just and probably for me as well a little bit to see if I can actually hit the hole. I’ve got this for camera flash. No, nowhere near. And we’ll take a bogey. Some of the hardest conditions I think I’ve ever played in. Well, I’ve got to be honest. I never thought I would be doing the outro to this video in my car in the pitch black. Um, what did I think of the Fog and one length irons? Well, I were really, really surprised. pleasantly surprised because when I was hitting them at the driving range, they just didn’t feel nice. They was running left or right. I actually thought, “Oh my god, I’ve made a bit of a mess up here.” But the distance didn’t seem too far off. Struggled with the gap wedge and the pitching wedge, but obviously they’ve got longer shafts in them than what they normally would have, so maybe that’s something I’m going to have to get used to. I do play with different wedges anyway, so I’m not too concerned about that. Um, it was more the four, five, and six, and I hit them pretty well, to be honest with I think I ate one bad four iron. So yeah, I think I could have scored better if it weren’t for the fact that it was dark, but at the same time I ended up two over. So I’ve got to be happy with that. So at this moment in time, can one length clubs make my game better? Um well, last week I was six over here and today I was two over. So so far so good. But I will do an update video after a month or so of playing with them. Um see how they’re holding up. Um see if they are any good and who knows, I might even put some more grips on them in the future. Anyway guys, from a very dark Aston Park 9hole golf course. I’m very warm in all fairness. I hope you enjoyed the video. Um, and yeah, hope you found it useful. And again, just like the last video, drop me uh drop me a comment.
