PALO ALTO, Calif. — No. 8 Pepperdine women’s golf concluded its fall season with a fourth-place finish among 19 programs at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice this weekend at the Stanford Golf Course.
The Waves finished six under par as a team to earn the top-four finish among one of the most challenging fields in the country as 14 of the top-40 ranked teams in the nation comprised the competition including 10 in the top-25.
Kylee Choi led the Waves with a fifth-place finish individually at seven under par for the tournament.
“Coach Kacey and I are very proud of the player’s hard work throughout the fall season,” said head coach Laurie Gibbs. “We look forward to continuing our success in the spring and postseason. Go Waves!”
With the strong finish, the Waves have likely secured a top-10 ranking for the fall season, with only three of the top-four ranked teams in the country finishing above them. Pepperdine also finished above six other top-25 programs which included No. 6 Texas.
Kylee Choi earned her second straight top-five finish with a seven under total for the tournament to place tied for fifth. Choi improved throughout the weekend, carding a 1-under 70 on Friday before shooting a 69 on Saturday with just one bogey on the round. Entering Sunday in 15th-place, Choi surged up the leaderboard with a 4-under 67 to jump into the top-five, recording five birdies on the day.
Eunseo Choi finished under par for the tournament at one under which placed her 20th individually. Choi began the tournament with an even par 71 to on Friday, before matching the low round from any Wave on the weekend with a 4-under 67 on Saturday. Choi remained in the top-20 while carding a 74 on Sunday.
Grace Anderson registered a 29th-place finish with a one over par finish on the weekend. Maintaining her consistent play, Anderson carded a 1-over 72 on both Friday and Sunday, while shooting in the red on Saturday with a 1-under 70.
Jeneath Wong totaled a four over par mark for the tournament, placing her in 35th-place on the individual leaderboard. Wong also got stronger as the week went on, following a first round 76 with an even par 71 on Saturday before knocking in five birdies on Sunday for a 2-under 69.
Yingzhi Zhu rounded out the Waves with a 17 over par mark on the weekend. Zhu carded a 3-over 74 in both the first round and final round.

The weekend wrapped up the three-tournament fall schedule for the Waves, who placed seventh at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate before a runner-up finish at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.
The Waves will return to action next at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge which begins the spring season Feb. 1-3. The tournament hosted by Ohio State in Palos Verdes, Calif., is the first of five spring tournaments for the Waves before the WCC Championships and NCAA Regionals in April and May.
