Max Kennedy’s maiden HotelPlanner Tour campaign came to a premature end as he missed out on a spot in next months Grand Final at the Hangzhou Open.

Kennedy carded a final round of 71 for a four under total, but his share of 49th position was not enough to keep his place in the top-45 of the Road to Mallorca Rankings as he slipped from 45th to 47th.

The Royal Dublin man turned in one under after two birdies and a bogey on his front nine and looked to be putting a late charge on after birdies on the 10th and 11th holes.

It may have been too little too late but a bogey, birdie, double bogey finish put paid to his Grand Final chances.

Kennedy will now miss out on an opportunity to clinch promotion to the DP World Tour in Alcanada next month with the top-20 securing cards for next season.

The 24-year-old has full status on the HotelPlanner Tour next season and can still dream of a DP World Tour card next season as he will head to the Final Stage of Q-School next month.

Liam Nolan missed the cut in China on Friday but has been granted a stay of execution despite falling from 37th to 43rd in the Road to Mallorca Rankings meaning only a win will do in the final.
