Here’s the full DP World India Championship prize money breakdown as Tommy Fleetwood picks up another trophy for the cabinet at Delhi Golf Club…
Tommy Fleetwood will take home the winner’s share of the DP World India Championship prize money after a two-shot victory in Delhi.
What a few months it’s been for Fleetwood, who finally broke his duck on the PGA Tour in August before going on to top-score in Europe’s 15-13 Ryder Cup victory at Bethpage. Now he has his eighth DP World Tour title – and first in almost two years – after the Englishman held off Keita Nakajima in India.
After the win, Fleetwood explained he had extra motivation to win with his son Frankie watching on: “He said, ‘You’ve never won a tournament and I’ve been able to run onto the 18th green.’ So all day today I had in my mind, ‘Can I put myself in a position where I can actually make that moment happen?’ It’s just one of those little things. It means a lot to me. That was really cool. That was what I wanted to do all day.”
The victory not only earns Fleetwood more than half a million dollars, but also 835 Race to Dubai Rankings points to move him up 69 places to 25th.
Ryder Cup teammates Shane Lowry and Viktor Hovland also finished in the top 10, while Rory McIlroy couldn’t find his best stuff on the final day and had to settle for a tie for 26th.
