OGIO SILENCER CART BAG VERSUS WILSON I LOCK DRY CART BAG
Clubs clanking, smashing and bashing into each other is never a particularly nice experience on the golf course, but there is an alternative. Wilson’s ILock system and Ogio’s Silencer system are two of the best anti club bashing tops around. In this video I pick apart every pocket, zip and strap in an effort to determine where you should spend your money. Not a short video but very thorough at least.

Hello and welcome to another Golf FM bag review. Settle down, get into a comfy chair, get yourself a cup of tea, get your feet up, and enjoy the ride. We could be here sometime. We’ve got a double review, which means we’re talking serious amounts of time. In fact, you know what? I’m actually going to put this on the iPad. I’m going to start the timer if I can find the clock. Anyone know how to work an iPad? There we go. Clock reset. Here we go. Start. We won’t count the other wee bit. There’s obviously a few seconds to add on to that. I’ll put it down there. I’ll keep it going. So, this time it’s the Wilson Eyelock dry bag and the Audio Silencer bag. And they’re both waterproof and they both lock the clubs into place so they don’t smash into each other, make a noise, and ruin your nice clubs. So, if you have a look at the tops, that is what we’re talking. Quite a lot going on there. Bits of plastic. Sort of soft feel on the top of that one. A bit harder on the Wilson, but we’ll get into the details as we go. Really nice night tonight. Sunny, hot. Should be out playing golf. But the videos I do on me playing golf on the course, nobody watches. Maybe one day they’ll watch them, but at the moment I’m confined to indoors talking about bags for up to 40 minutes. And it’s up to you people to take the time to watch the outdoor ones and watch the teaching ones as well cuz I’m outside when I do them to get me a healthier lifestyle to actually get me outside and enjoy the few nights that we get like this in Scotland cuz it we really don’t get a lot of nights like this where there’s hardly any wind and it’s actually physically warm and you could wear a shirt and nothing else. So there’s your incentive to watch the other videos, but need to get on with this because you’ve tuned in to find out about the bag. So, what do I think of these, right? Let’s do the tops first of all, cuz it’s the most important thing. So, I’ve got my Blueprint S here, which I’m never ever going to sell. There’s videos on those, by the way. And what a disaster that was. Me deciding to buy a set of Blueprint S. Basically seduced by Luke’s. And the minute you hit them bad, fell out the air about 30 or 40 yards short of the target. So, this is the first time I’ve ever put clubs into this Wilson Eyelock. I’ve not done the Eyelock before. I’ve actually done a review on the silencer already, so I know it’s quite good. Oh, gave the gave the game away there, eh? But this is the Wilson’s attempt at it. So, that’s the irons. And you’ve got another couple irons you could put in the side there. How many holes have we got? 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14. Yeah, 14. So, you can’t get disqualified. Some bags give you 15. Ping most notably do that. So, you’ve got a chance of getting disqualified. This is firm plastic. And let me just see because the silencer can you can turn upside down and they don’t fall out. This they’re never going to hit each other. You can see that on my law. You’ll see in a minute the silencer, but it’s a different system that they physically can’t hit each other. So I don’t suppose that it’s ever going to be designed to be tipped up upside down. No, it isn’t. Not that you’d ever want to do that, but you could actually do that with the silencer. So you then go driver in here. That’s a putter. Well, wouldn’t do that. Driver there. Three wood in there. Five wood in there. Say it’s actually I don’t know if that is a fivewood. It’s three wood as well. And then a rescue in there. And you’ve still got one, two, three spaces left. They’re moving around. It’s a different thing. You would definitely need head covers. There’s actually an argument to say on the silencer. You don’t even need head covers cuz they just stay so solid. So they are moving around. You need to get that down into there. My opinion on the top of this is that yes, it’s going to work. You just need to make sure you get them in that slot. I mean, it’s pretty foolproof. really it’s pretty foolproof. You’re not going to hit the other clubs. Putter well’s quite big. So, it just works on a system of everything being out the way of each other and then relying on you having wood covers to sort the woods out. So, yeah, it’s good. It’s absolutely fine. Right. So, the top’s fine on that. What is the weight like? I’ll maybe try and find out the weight and put it up on the screen. But just by lifting them up and down, that’s actually quite hard to tell. I think that’s lighter. much more solid top and yet overall I think it’s lighter. It be interesting to see what the actual figures say. So these are both waterproof, right? So let’s have a look at all the bits on the outside of the Wilson first of all. So you’ve got these two grab handles at the top. So they seem fairly flimsy feeling, but I don’t think they’re going to break, so they don’t need to be massively thick. And then you’ve got a bit down the bottom for putting into the boot of the car. This is obviously putting onto a back of a car, I would suggest. You’ve got towel loop thing there, which seems fine. The umbrella. Where does that go? Does that go in there? The umbrella. Right. Let’s check the umbrella cuz that looks tight. So, let’s get the umbrella in here. Good lord. What is is that even a Is that even an umbrella thing? Am I just being stupid? It isn’t an umbrella thing. Trying to ram it in something that isn’t even an umbrella thing. What an absolute idiot. Right. Okay. Down here. It’s just through there. You can tell there’s no preparation in these videos. Absolutely zero. Too busy for preparation. Can’t do it. Maybe one day. Then it wouldn’t be as funny probably. That goes in fine. Good old school style umbrella holder. Don’t know what this we bit is here. Oh, I know where it is. I missed that once before. I got to be careful with that. That is that hole I was trying to ram the umbrella into. is actually the strap goes through that. So the cart or the trolley strap would go through that just to help secure it. So that doesn’t interfere with any of the opening of the pockets. It’s really tight. It almost feels like it could rip at any given moment if you get too hamfisted with that. Not impressed with how tight that is. I don’t think it’s an utter deal breaker that you couldn’t possibly ever work with the bag, but it feels tight for your hand. I mean, you can’t actually get my hand through that. Hopefully the thing would feed through and you wouldn’t need to get your hands through it, so it’s fine. There is a slight feeling of overall of tightness on this. It’s a waterproof bag, so sometimes you get that. Let’s see what else is on the outside before we go into the pockets. Just a strap at the back. What’s the base like? Base looks absolutely fine. Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about that not fitting on trolley and things. It looks absolutely fine. Right, I think that is it. There’s a glove velcro. Can’t live without that. Obviously, just the one. So, I don’t know how some people will cope because there’s two on a ping. Right onto the pockets. So, at the top, zips feel perfectly good. We’ve got an air free air with every bag these days. That is a perfectly good pocket. Opens nicely. Little bits at the side stop stuff falling out. The zips feel perfectly good. And for a waterproof bag, it’s got a double zip, which you don’t often see. So, you would have to put that right round there if you didn’t want any water ingress. Good word. Cuz if you leave it up like that, then there’s a gap between the two zips. That’s why you quite often only get one zip on a waterproof bag and I don’t know why Wilson have done that. That feels fine. This is another double zip. Oh, what? We got a big Didn’t expect that to be insulated. Now, we’re not talking roast chickens. You could get something hot in there. Hot bacon roll or something like that. Keep it warm. That would normally be my sort of tea pocket and sort of first go-to accessory pocket. I wouldn’t normally expect that one to be insulated or expect this one to be insulated. I mean, it’s a useful pocket. It’s good size pocket. It’s absolutely fine. But then I would have had this one as my potential roast chicken pocket. And if you don’t know what that’s about, it’s basically saying how big is it? If it can take a roast chicken or not, because you know, it’s it’s a good way of thinking to yourself, how can I illustrate to the viewer how big that pocket is? And if you imagine, you know, hefting a huge big roast chicken in there, you think, well, that is big. I can imagine that. If you could get a roast chicken in there, then it must be big. And unfortunately, this is big enough probably to take a sort of fairly medium to small size roast chicken, but there’s no insulation in there, so you’d be wasting your time. It’s just going to go off and you’re going to get food poisoning and you wish you hadn’t bothered. You’re not going to get it in there. Barely even big enough for a bottle. Most commonly used drink in Britain just about Lucas aid. It does fit. Perfectly good big pockets. It’s got little holes in it so it’s not going to fill up with water. Create a swimming pool. Onto the side pockets. we bit sticky there, but it’s not funny. I quite like how it comes all the way down the side here. Now, that’s really good there. That is not tight to get into. A lot of waterproof bags feel tight. They feel like they’re going to rip. This whole bag has got a tight look. Soon as you go into the big main pocket, as wide and pliable as can be. Well done to Wilson for that. I’ll get the hood out. Have a look at that separately. Any little extra pockets in here? No. just entry in to being able to get down to the bottom of the bag if you drop something down there. That is a really good big clothes pocket. And then in here, it’s got an attempt at a soft furry valuables pocket. And it’s big, very big. It’s not the most luxurious feel in the world, but you’ll be able to survive with it, I would think. And this on the outside is another another little extra pocket. Now, eyelock drive. This has got quite a lot of pockets for a waterproof bag. It’s not bad at all. Quite often waterproof bags can be quite sparsely populated with pockets because you’ve got to seam seal everything behind it. That pocket on the other side’s completely the same as the other one. Really big. So, this actually got loads of space. It’s bigger than it looks. Actually looks really neat and slim. And some people really like that cuz it might fit in their lockers or whatever or take up less room in the car. But it’s actually got loads of room in it. I’m actually more impressed with that than I thought it was going to be in terms of the space. Oh, look. 2.9 kg, 6.4 lb. So, we do have a weight. Does this say a weight? No. See, these have got the sort of top trumps thing where you’ve got you can play bag cards against each other. Things have got that. So, this hood is one of the flimsiest hoods I’ve felt in a long time. It’s got old school metal poppers. Put it on backwards. I think this is always what happens. Spent like half the video trying to do the hood a lot of the time. It’s not that important. Well, I suppose it is in a waterproof bag. I still not got this on properly. I’ve still not got on properly. What is going on? I have to edit this out. What we on now minutes wise? iPod. The iPad’s gone to sleep. I’ll tell you at the end. You get the shock of your life at the end how long this is and then how much I can edit it down to. And don’t worry, I won’t take out any funny bits. Just me farting and burping. I’ll take that out. I don’t do that. I’m only joking. That hood, I’m not terribly impressed with that. It’s very, very thin. Doesn’t even almost feel like it’s waterproof. I’m surely it will be. And it’s just on bare minimum style hanging over there. Let themselves down with the hood. I mean, the hoods don’t have to be like unbelievable, but that’s as poor a hood on a rain bag as I’ve seen in a while. I think it would just about do the job because if you think about it, the clubs are actually up a little bit higher. So, I’m being slightly unvered in getting annoyed about gap, but it is just a tiny bit. You know, if the wind’s blowing in there, it’s and there’s rain going down that bit and suddenly you’re not really protecting your clubs from the rain, which is why you bought a waterproof bag in the first place. I should have said at the start, by the way, that this is £199 generally online. I thought it was 225 when I got it. So, I’m going to have to change it back down to £199. Thanks for that internet. And this one is £269 on the internet. What have I got it at? Yeah, £269. So, obviously that’s not changed. For £199, that is a bargain. And the only slightly bad thing is the hood. It’s still going to do a job of sorts. You have to say it’s good. It’s pretty light. It’s got a lot of space and pliable pockets that don’t feel like they’re going to rip. Downsides would be the rain hood and the tightness of getting a strap through there and then a slightly strange arrangement with the fact that the insulated pocket is up top there. I don’t know, maybe you could have had a side. It’s not It’s fine. You can do it either way. That’s not really a downside. So, not many downsides to it. And considering it’s £199, that’s actually cheap for a waterproof bag probably. Anyway, even if it didn’t have this Eyelock system, which is going to protect your clubs. Yeah, well done to Wilson overall. Let’s see if it’s better than this, though. I have done a review on this before, so I shouldn’t have to go through with it as much detail. Just watch that as well. It’ll be up there somewhere. I’ll still end up going through it, I’m sure. So, the top of this is really good. Actually, before we talk about the top of this, can we just say that why Fraser did you buy the one with halfeaten lollipops on it? Let’s address the elephant in the room. Think I bought it because I didn’t want to just buy two of the same one. I bought one to come in earlier, which I’ve still got. I don’t know why I’ve still got that. It’s like I’m doing all these bag reviews and I find it really quite difficult to sell bags. I’m starting to wonder whether it’s because people are frightened that they’re going to get a 40inute dialogue about how good the bag is when they come in to ask about it and they’re frightened to come in cuz they think they’re never going to get away. That wouldn’t happen by the way. It’s just the videos I saved this for. I’m really quite succinct when you come in the shop. So, you know, don’t be frightened. It’s good prices as well. It’s internet matched. Anyway, so the ice lolly halfeaten thing was probably and the reason I would have got this is probably the least bad option to get other than the plain navy and red one because the audio guys are mental. I don’t know what is wrong with them. They put the most wild designs on things and take massive risks with design that they don’t need to take. If all of their bags were like just quite nice colors, the design of them would be good enough that they could stand on their own two feet, but for some reason they think it’s a good idea to put halfeaten lollipops and pineapples and stuff like that on it and frighten the life out of people, frighten them off from it. Obviously, there’s going to be people out there love that and good on you for loving it, you know, but it frightens a lot of people. You kind of feel like the ping people make a really good job of the bags and the bag team would be, you know, really quite sensible people talking it through and then the audio guys are just basically out on the town a lot of the time and designing the bags in the pub at night and passing it off as a meeting. I mean, I’m sorry if I’m wrong, but that’s the impression I get. I feel like you get a better night out with the audio bag designers than you would with the ping designers, but you still end up with a good bag. just got halfeaten lollipops on it and pineapples and stuff. So, let’s get on with the top because that’s me again adding time. So, let’s have a look at this pitching wedge in there. I I actually really like this system. I thought it looked a bit funny when I first got it. And then it’s I just think it’s a thing of beauty. This feels really nice and soft. you know, comment in the comments, funnily enough, if you’ve found that the bottom of your grips get ruined by this bag because somebody was talking about it today and they were saying, “Oh, yeah, but it must ruin the bottom of your grip.” And I’m thinking, well, hopefully not. And hopefully they would have thought of that in the pub designing phase. Let’s have a look at this. Yes. See, there you look. Look at that. That is a thing of beauty. They are in there solid and they are not moving. And if you’re one of these people that likes things to look good and stay good, then this is the bag for you cuz they don’t move. That is a nice thing. Putter takes quite a lot of different putters as well, and it even attempts when you do the upside down trick to not come out as well, but it’s it’s struggling a wee bit with the putter cuz you imagine how many different putter grips there are. I don’t know if this takes the jumbo max grips. I asked the rep about it and he said he didn’t think it would. So, you can’t have everything, I’m afraid. So yeah, love the top, but honestly write in if you found it to be bad in any way that I haven’t because I’m actually used this. I’m just going from it what it’s like in the shop. I like that top design more than the Wilson. These grab handles are good. You’ve got all sorts of velcro bits here for going onto a cart. And does it go underneath? It doesn’t go underneath. It goes around the top. So you could go through the handle through these two cart things. So yeah, that would just go around there. loop there for towels and bag tags and things like that. But that’s all. We’ve got a glove velcro down here. We’ve also got a pen holder thing in there, but not enough for coloring and set, which you do on some bags. Don’t know what this is. Is this umbrella? Let’s ram something down it and find out. That’s the best way I find. Just Yeah, that is that is an umbrella thing. That’s quite nice actually. Quite like that. You don’t have to tighten anything. It just goes in. That’s quite a big thick umbrella as well. So, that’s good. Strap’s fine. And it’s sort of held in place there. You’ve got anything else? The base just pretty normal. Don’t think you can go wrong with that. Top pocket then. Okay. One zip feels really good. I said it felt like it was the best zip the world’s ever seen. And then somebody put in the comments that they had to send back about four of them because the zips kept breaking. I don’t think it was quite as many as four, but they certainly had to send something back because the zips were broken. But I don’t know how you get a better zip than that on a waterproof bag. They most of the ones I try, they feel like they’re pulling the pocket out of the bag. This just runs free as a bird and it’s got a big nice handle to to hold. I think it’s as good as zippers I’ve seen on a waterproof bag. And I like this. It’s got a little inner section in there. So, that’s good on a waterproof bag. You don’t always get lots of little luxuries and extras in the pockets. That’s a really good size, that pocket. I like that. Then this one here, you’re getting loads of free air out of this. Absolutely tons uh in here. Big nice pocket in there. Really deep, really easy to get in and out of. Like that. Again, a nice zip feel. Then you’ve got the one down the bottom. This is a double zip. All of a sudden, it’s all tangled up. Why is it tangled up? Why have they suddenly done double zip on that? I don’t remember that. Free air again. Loads of air. And that is insulated with two little holes in the bottom letting hot air in. But I’m sure it’s makes quite a good job of actually insulating at that. And that is pretty reasonable size roast chicken material. That that is that’s a nice fully insulated bottom pocket. And that for me is a more natural setting cuz if you try and position a roast chicken up here, your center of gravity is all wrong. You need it down low. I would suggest with something like this. It’s not feeling like it’s going to be topheavy in any way and fall over if you’re ever, you know, position it in the car park before you get it into the car or your trolley or whatever. You want that down low. So, that’s fine. That’s good. Like that a lot. Double zip. Two net pockets at the side for extra drinks or anything else or rangefinder and everything if it’s not raining. I like that. I like the fact that it’s got these little two extra bits on that. That makes a difference. And Wilson doesn’t have that. The big pocket at the side. Free cardboard this time. comes with every bag. That’s a good pocket as well. There’s actually almost more resistance on this than there is on the Wilson in that pocket. But this is still very good. It’s still very easy the way that opens to get in and out of that. And it is really big. Every bit as big as a Wilson. Very good pocket. No extra bits in there. And then over here again, nice bit of chunky cardboard. And then half eaten lollipop cover, which we’ll have a look at. Then you can get into the bottom of the bag as well. There’s a zip. So that’s fine. That’s good. And then this zip here. So, this is just a little side pocket. Didn’t have one on that other side. It’s just on this side. Little key thing which I never use for anything, but again, it’s another little feature on a waterproof bag that you don’t always get. And this is why this is probably a little bit more expensive. Got some of these little extra features. And that has a nice soft feel. It’s on a par with that one. It’s not the softest I’ve ever felt in my life. So, that’s all the pockets done. That is everything. Let’s just have a quick look at the hood. Never quit doing the hood, but always say let’s have a quick look at it. But it’s got Velcro everywhere. And I’m not as big a fan of Velcro as I am of poppers. I think plastic lightweight poppers is the way to go with this. I think velcro is a bit of a copout if I’m being honest. Don’t like it. I know it’s cheaper. I know it doesn’t rip and you don’t get people sending things back and it probably cuts cost and all the rest of it, but not a massive fan of it. This goes through those cart strap things, I think. Sort of unsatisfactorily attached with Velcro there. And then what’s happening here? This is what would be going on on the golf course. And meanwhile, you’re getting shouted at by your playing partners and the people behind you because you’re taking an absolute age to put your hood on. And you should have prepared earlier and practiced at home. You shouldn’t need to practice as far as I’m concerned. It’s a bad design if you have to practice. I can’t get this on. I’m going to have to watch the other video that I made on this to try and get this on. What happens to this? Let’s go around this way. See, now we’re eating into time that we don’t want to be spending. It can’t go that way, can it? Let’s go around there. See, it’s just sort of hanging on to bits as that’s ripping off and stuff. It feels a good material. So, I feel like once it’s on, you’ll be laughing, but I’m not laughing at the moment. I think that’s it. Well, I’m sorry, but the hoods on both these bags leave a little bit to be desired. And I’m sorry as well, but when you’re designing a waterproof bag, it should be really good. It should be a very solid part of it coming over there. It’s going to do the job. Probably. You shouldn’t have to say probably. You should be saying it’s really good. They need to have a rethink on how they’re doing the hood. And so do they. It, as I say, is going to do the job to a certain extent. I don’t know which one’s better. They’re not that much different in terms of what they do. This feels more solid and nice. And it’s got half eating lollipops all over it. So, if you’re into that and you’ll be really pleased. So, yeah, slightly disappointing the hood front there. Right. Okay. So, overall, what do I think’s better? That’s a tough one, actually. I was going to I thought that would be easy. So, you talk about £70 more for the audio, right? Forget that it’s got lollipops on it. It didn’t have that. I prefer the audio. I’m sorry if that hurts you. If you’ve bought a Wilson and you’re watching this for vindication of your purchase, I’m sorry. I’ve got to say as I see it, you might not agree with it. I like the silencer top better. I like the way that holds the clubs in place. Feels solid. It’s a softer feel. This feels like it’s doing the job, but it’s quite hard plastic. is it’s a tall bag as well. So, I mean that shouldn’t make any difference cuz the clubs coming out of it are longer. So, it shouldn’t impact on your space in your boot, but there’s something just a bit plastickier and cheaper feeling about that. Is it going to damage clubs? No, it shouldn’t. It’s a soft feel plastic, but it’s not as soft as that. Um, the hood’s not quite as good as it is on the silencer, even though they’re both not that good. Pocket arrangement I just think’s fractionally better on the silencer. I like the big roast chicken insulated pocket there. I like the zips a bit better. I like how there’s a little bit more space on these front pockets. This feels overall as well, the Audio quite a bit more solid and wellmade than this. This feels at little bits, little touch points, a little bit cheaper made. And I don’t know if that would mean that it wouldn’t last as long as the audio. That’s what if it’s something feels a little bit cheaper, you would think maybe longevity might be the issue that it’s not going to last as long. But this is seriously good value this Wilson for what you get. You’re getting a a top which is stopping your club smashing together and a waterproof bag for $199 when you can’t get a decent waterproof bag for $199 a lot of the time. And this is even if you take this out of it is a good waterproof bag. The pockets are nice. They’ve got a lot of play in them. There’s a lot of space. There’s quite a few pockets, but it just feels a tiny bit cheaper made than that. And I think the pocket arrangement is slightly better on the Audio. Just feels like a slightly better bag to me. Not by much. They are both good. I’d actually recommend both of them. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the Wilson at all. But if you push me into the corner and put a gun to my head, you’re going to get audio out of me. Okay? It isn’t by Miles, but it is the audio for me. So, let’s have a look at the time. What did we get to? Oh, it’s not too bad. 36:45. Not too bad. So, not as big a job as I had recently uh when I was doing some bag and I got into the 40s. So, I’m going to stop talking now. Thanks for the review – great as always Fraser. The Wilson bag looks like it wouldn't allow the hood to fit if the clubs were in there. Simply not wide enough? No issues with my Ogio bag with regards wear on the grips (I use Midsize Align) and you're spot on, they are the best zips of any golf bag. I had no problems getting my Ogio hood on 1st time – as I'd already watched you do it on your earlier review!! 😆

Had the OGIO bag for about a week….it had to go…the putter well is useless if you have a large headed malket like a LAB….you cant get the clubs out next to it….drove me mad…also no slot for trolley base to sit in…..

I tossed up between these two bags and ended up going with the Wilson ilock dry as it was about au$300 as opposed to about au$500 for the Ogio silencer. Now wish I spent the extra $$$. Some of the longer irons are too tall to fit in the holding wells meaning they rattle around which is annoying. The bag is also far too narrow which means when you put your driver, putter and fairway woods / hybrids in the centre wells with covers everything is really cramped and difficult to get too. Far worse though is that the structure of the sides of the bag are simply not substantial / firm enough and it twists when strapped on buggies which then squeezes centre wells (the putter in particular) and makes it really difficult to get the clubs in and out of the bag, especially if you have thicker grips. My advice, if you are looking at one of these types of bags, is to spend the extra and get the ogio – I definitely wish I had.
I had one I took it back I didn't use it. Brought it home transfer all of my clubs.
1. if you use a cart the strap covers the two upper pockets making the useless. if they made the Velcro straps longer it wouldn't be an issue.
2. the rain hood is useless it opens from the front making it impossible to get your clubs out.
The locking system works fine its the little things that make difference.
The ogio bag is an over priced pile of scrap, have you ever used the bag on the course , probably not.
The ogio bag does not stop your clubs clanking and if you use gps tags ,the tags get stuck in the mechanism in the bottom of the bag.
I prefer my golf bag without a shaft grater 😂
Having bought the wilson i cart 4 bag,i can tell you its poorly designed,and extremely annoying to use.

Bought Ogio. Well made. Two negatives: base doesn’t have a housing mechanism to seat on my Powakaddy; with a full set of clubs it’s difficult to get a mallet putter head positioned. These negatives apart it’s very good – in particular the housing mechanism.
Only disappointment is the lack of a trolley locking system in the boron

Perfectly timed review. Have just looked at a Ogio Silencer bag in a misty grey colour. Looked almost sexual!!. Both golf sales folks I talked to raved about it. Also spoke to a guy who had just bought a brightly coloured version and loved it. Nearly $NZ600 though. Can't find the Wilson in NZ but others with a similar mechanism don't seem that great a fit for overlengthh clubs and the head covers seem to need removed to fit in. Might bit the bullet and buy the Ogio (my existing Ben Hogan bag is circa 1990 so anything is an improvement – especially the storage. Thanks for review.
While I'm a Huge Fan of Ogio, (I've owned a Stinger II R.A.I.L. Cart Bag for 20, yes, 20 years!) and only now am I looking for a replacement as the software around the 14-way Top is gone. I checked out the Silencer but I'm not sold on the durability of the Top over the long haul; the rubber strap on the RAIL Arm broke the 6th time I used it (2 Heavy Duty Zip Ties fixed that.). The Top Feels kind of flimsy for a 10-yr. Bag (Which I expect minimum, for a $320 US Cost!).
i got the wilson less than USD70…i will go for Wilson as Ogio easily cost 3 times more than the price of Wilson

I am 35 years old and quite frankly love the wild designs that Ogio puts out. I just bought the Ogio Silencer Cart Bag in Wave Camo and it is honestly the sickest golf bag I have ever seen. I am also very particular about my sticks so the silencer feature is lights out. You might be surprised at how well the wild designs sell if you give them a chance bud! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Also the bag does not compromise the integrity of the grips in any way, shape, or form.

The Wilson looks a bit cheap, but more importantly, its too tall. Getting clubs out of the bag in cart with an extended roof might be a problem

In all my years golfing I’ve yet to eat a roast chicken on the course.🍗 🤣🤣. A pork pie, a sarnie or two a banana, few energy bars. Definitely a cool drink. Personally where you are wanting to put your Sunday roast, with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, sage’n’onion stuffing etc I would be wanting to put golf balls & other essentials. Personally I think Wilson got the cooler pocket right as that is where I’d want my isotonic drink or my thermos flask, depending upon time of year.
Although I don’t like the ice lolly design I normally like the fun Ogio designs. My current bag, isn’t too dissimilar to the Wilson bag in many ways my Bennington bag which I’ve had for probably around 20 years or so has served me well and is perhaps a slightly more robust version of the Wilson bag. My Bennington bag is in a fake leatherite type of material, which is only over the last year starting to wear & flake a bit. As clever as the Ogio system is I still prefer the solution my Bennington & now the Wilson has.
Only improvement Wilson seem to have made is an indentation in the base to allow it to sit on powered trolleys without twisting, something I don’t see on the Ogio, which is I think an oversight.
I bought the Wilsons I lock Dry (older model than this) a couple of years ago because I wanted separation but I was not happy with it in the end. It's like they started on something great but then left it totally unfinished because there are no shaft separators for all. So you still get "grip on grip" stickyness sometimes. There is only some shitty separator cloths which do not work well enough for me. They should have just put in better separators and for ALL clubs. Also The whole point in bying something like this is that you don't want to use club covers, but you have to with woods on this, and because the Wilson is so much higher then anything else because of the plastic "mold" that holds the clubs. They did not take it in to account and the Woods sit way too low and the wood covers can't really fit right but they will get crinkly and obviously that will induce wear on them pretty fast. I'm quite OCD about these things and I though I would love the WIlson but it is just unbelievable to me how they had gold but left it unfinished. For irons it is great except not enough shaft separation but if you don't like to use that many irons but Hybrids etc instead, well too bad you can't fit a Hybrid or anything else than an iron in their "mount". I wish I could tear the top plastic mold off and put it back. I would put in tube separators for all. The middle wood separators would also have to have 3cm risers so they would sit better with covers. That would make the bag wery tall though with clubs, not sure if it would even fit in my Golfclub's bag cabinets where I store them. It's already way taller than others. The I Lock Dry is a great idea but unfinished. It's like made by a designer who does't play or did not have anyone test it much with wood covers. Or that they did notice the same issues but did not want to add separators or wood risers… tough to say. Kinda good but not good enough for my OCD's.

I believe the holes at the bottom of the cooler pocket are designed to let melted ice drain out.

l reckon you're looking at an older OGIO model. The 2025 model (even on their website) pic show the umbrella holder to be a very weak looking bit of string at the top and a cloth ring at the bottom of the bag externally. An opinion is that may last a game, perhaps even 2 games. Same for the Woode version. Other than that, looks like an ideal bag, although I have jumbo grips and would need the Woode version where the separator holes look to be a really great size and seem to be MUCH better than anything else on the market for those size grips — I took along a club today and tried it in about 15 or so different models of bags and was sorely disappointed with them because in nearly ALL of them the larger club grip caught in the top of the bag … and in some bags the holes were TOO SMALL to even get the club in !! Who designs those things, non-golfer MBAs ??
