He’ll feel it tomorrow. Surely pressure going out. No doubt about it. He’s playing with one of the best players in the world, the world number five Fleetwood, the FedEx Cup champion. That puts a little bit of pressure on as well. He’s already done it today, but you got to go and do it again as as the top players. The reason why Fleetwood and Maroy and Hovindland and these guys are at the top because they do it week after week, day after day, wherever they play in the world. And that’s a skill in itself. And Nakajima playing with Fleetwood, he will he will be feeling it. There’s no doubt about it. As I say, there’s those 10 PJ tour cards which are huge in a player’s career. uh we’ve seen over the last few years that there’s a carrot dangling tomorrow and not only could he win this big tournament and move himself up the world rankings and the race to Dubai rankings but gain one of those cards absolutely an awful lot at stake at the end of the season let’s hear from our leader let’s hear his thoughts post round he’s with Henny incredible round out there today seven under par what are you most happy with it looked like everything was going along nicely but is there an element maybe with your game or mindset that you were most pleased with today yeah it was great day So I played with Shen Rory. So I love his swing tempo and yeah his golf style. So I learned from uh Shen a lot. So and mindset was was so great. Yeah. What things did you learn from him aside from his swing and feeding off of that perhaps with his mindset on the golf course? Yeah, I copied it his swing tempo every shot. Yeah, that why hit great. Yeah, hit great. Yeah. You said earlier this week you love golf in India. When you have that mindset, how does that translate into your game? Yeah, I had two good tournament in India already. So, yeah, I have confidence for play in here and also one more day just keep going. Yeah. What would a win tomorrow mean to you? Uh, same thing, same mindset. I copy in with Shane swing. Yeah, that simple. Yeah, play golf. Hopefully you can channel your inner Shane for a win tomorrow. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Appreciate it. Yeah, great attitude. Great doing a big day ahead, but he is the leader heading into tomorrow’s final round. Just a little look at Shane Larry on that leaderboard. Uh 69 today, three back, three under. Just a word on how difficult it is for these guys who are chasing on a golf course like this. Uh similar day to Fleetwood for Larry. didn’t seem to really get it going especially on the greens but again they’ll reflect 300’s pretty good he’s only three behind the leader the pressure is on Nakajima um and there’s some other good names in in behind him I think Rory’s a bit too far back I think he’s 10 under par he’ll need some help from Nakajima but I think Larry Fleet will be quite comfortable they know you can’t play great every day wasn’t their day today you could see the frustration I think Larry missed quite a few fairways as well and if you miss the fairways here in this Bermuda you’re you’re in trouble yeah a little frustration for Shane off the teas there but there he is 14 under again. Let’s hear from Shane post round. He’s with Henny. Uh Shane 69 today. Uh how pleased were you with what you saw out there or was there a little bit of frustrations that you felt there was more in the tank? Yeah, I got very frustrated on the back n today. I uh I started to hit a few very loose shots. Um make some silly mistakes. Uh so I’m disappointed with my back nine. I played great on the front nine. I was really in control of my game and how things were going. And then you know uh made a great par save on nine and then yeah I just missed a short put in 10 and then it kind of snowball spiral from there and uh you know I did my best to get it back on track and you know it was nice to be last but I made a couple of really silly errors mental errors uh but you know it is what it is. Uh I’m still only three back like yeah they played great today so uh he’ll be hard to beat tomorrow but um you know there’ll be a few of us not far behind them hopefully giving them a run. Uh in terms of that frustration, the mindset, how does a player in your position with your skill level recover and respond to that ahead of tomorrow? Yeah. Oh, ahead of tomorrow, yeah, I’ll be fine. Uh you know, I’ll reset tonight and uh you know, look at the leaderboard. I’m in a great position in this tournament. Um you know, I I like the golf course. I think it suits me and I think I’ll have a low score out there. I’ve already shown that once this week, uh you know, so I’ll need a little low one tomorrow to try and win. Best of luck, Shane, tomorrow. Thanks. Thank you. Yeah, clearly a golf course he feels very comfortable on. Little mental error you mentioned there at 10. Was that a fair assessment? Yeah, I think so. The interesting thing for me for Fleetwood and Larry, it’s not a golf course that you can really take on. You can’t exactly get the driver out and carry a corner or take a bunker on or get aggressive. You have to you’re going to have to you got to lay back all the time. So, it’s it it can really get to you because you can’t force it on this golf course. You’ve just got to plot your way around and plot your way around really and hope the putter works really well. But try and hit. If you hit every fairway, these guys with their short hands still have great chances. So, it’s an interesting mind battle for these two players where they they’re used to, you know, when you’re pumped up before you start a big tournament, you want to get the driver out and give it a hit, but you can’t. You go on the first with a three iron. It’s it’s a different kettle of fish this golf course. Yeah, it really is. And he talked about the adjustment. He’ll get ready and set for tomorrow. Nakajima with that advantage. Henny’s been busy. Let’s cross over now. She’s standing by with Tommy. Tommy felt like you ground out that 69 out there. Um I’m sorry I have to ask your feelings towards the putter, the flat stick, especially in the back n. It was a shame because I um I mean my pace was pretty rubbish all day, but then I felt like I’d um I’d held out so well up until uh you know I I made uh really good puts on I mean like it’s thing you’re supposed to hold them but they’re still good puts to hold. like two, three, um, and then like terrible, you know, first puts on six and seven leaving me so much to do. Eight was the same, nine was the same, up and down on 10, uh, make a really good put for P 12. So, I did so much well. Um, and then, you know, when I did give myself the chance to score, I then missed, you know, missed a couple uh, coming in. So, that was, yeah, that that was frustrating. I’m glad that I finished with a birdie there. I thought I actually might have chipped it in. Uh, glad I didn’t have to hold a short one after the way that it was going and I can I can move on from that. Yeah, it was um yeah, disappointing, but yeah, it’s 72 holes. I had what a five hole stretcher. I didn’t put very well. Uh I’ll try and fix it now and then we’ll go again tomorrow. Yeah. And in terms of mindset ahead of tomorrow, I am curious now. I ask a few players this of how do you respond to that? Because I think for a lot of amateurs at home, there’s a temptation to I’ve hit a few bad parts, I’ve missed a few, I need to now go and grind it out. But for the best players in the world, that’s often not the case. But for some of them, it is. So for you, how is the response to that ahead of tomorrow? Yeah, I’ll practice now. I’ll just go through uh a few routines, hit some puts. Um I say I feel like I put it okay. I hit um actually a really good put on uh 16. The one like I think 14, you know, obviously started it right, could have a right and then again started it a little bit right on 17 and then you’ve got like a you know slow pan grain that’s killing it. So once it had started right it had gone but they put it on 16 was really good. Just broke a lot. So, um, you know, I I I’m not going to like be really negative about it. Um, I know I’ve missed him. I know that I’ve got to do a bit of work on it, but, um, you know, practice now going into tomorrow with a good attitude and hopefully, uh, I can, you know, build some confidence and roll some in and get it going. There was a ton of good stuff out there today. What are you, I guess, most looking forward to ahead of tomorrow? How are you going to approach that final round? I’ve done so much good so far, like you say. So, I felt like, uh, there was a there was a good stretch, even though I felt like I was hauling puts for par. felt like I was playing really really well uh through the f through the front nine felt really in control, felt like I was playing great and then towards the back end there played lovely. So um you know focused on that really good stuff and know that if I play like that I’ve got a really good chance of scoring and shooting a good round you know um two behind uh two behind’s kind of close enough where you know I’m still in control of it a little bit like Kate’s not far enough ahead where he’s completely in control. Having said that, if she shoots 8 N under then I am out of it. But uh just go go into tomorrow, enjoy it. Final group’s always great. You’ve got to uh enjoy those moments. Uh you don’t know when they’re going to come again. So uh looking forward to that. It’s been a great tournament. Hopefully just go out, enjoy and play well. And then just final question of what would it mean to you to get another DP World Tour win and to win here in India potentially. Ah it’s always the best, isn’t it? That’s what we practice for. That’s what we play for. Uh chances to win and that feeling, you know, walking off the 18th green uh when you have one. So, uh, I I’ve still got things that I want to achieve this year and in my career, I think. Um, and this would be this would be a great one. So, uh, yeah, looking forward to another opportunity. I really, really am. It’s nice to be playing well. Um, again, never take it for granted. Uh, continue to work hard and enjoy these moments and go and give it our best shot tomorrow. Thanks, Tommy. Best of luck tomorrow. Thanks, thank you. Yeah, insightful as ever. And you just wonder, Jamie, given the year he’s had, breaking through for the first time on the PJ tour and obviously the Ryder Cup just very firmly in his rear view mirror, how hungry is he to go out there tomorrow, put in a good show and land another title out here? You got to love Tommy. He’s so honest and genuine and um matter of fact as well. He knows the position he’s in. I think he’s still the favorite to win if I’m honest. Uh I think he’s got less to prove than Nakajima. Nakajim’s got a few things going on there, but if Nakajima shoots 69 tomorrow, gets to 20 under par, I think one of the chasers will possibly get past him. Probably Tommy. Um, but yeah. Yeah, Tommy’s a cool cat and I think I think he’ll be in a few last groups going forward as well, don’t you? I think this will be his last last group. Let’s put it that way. So, I think he’s still favored to win. Attitude is great though, right? You talked about that. I mean, how how much has he leaned on that so far this year and how much will he have to back that up tomorrow? I think his attitude’s always been fantastic to be honest with you. I mean, he’s he’s ced with the versive because everyone’s wanting him to win and he’s talked about resilience a lot. Yeah, of course. And his attitude’s been and he’s always smiling. He always he seems to be enjoying it. That’s the main thing. He’s loving being out. He’s got his family as well. Little Frankie as well. So, all good for Tommy Fleetwood and I expect him to be lifting the trophy tomorrow. So, he is your winner, Tommy Fleetwood, says Jamie Spence. There you go. You’ve called it
