GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Richmond Spiders men’s golf team is in front of seven teams and behind seven teams through 36 holes at the Furman Intercollegiate after playing the first two rounds in a combined 8-over par (576) Saturday.
Richmond was led by junior Jack LaPiana, who shot two rounds of 71 (-1) and is in sixth place on the individual leaderboard at 2-under par (140).
Freshman Lucas Rizo-Patron is also in the top 25 individually. He’s tied for 24th at 2-over par (144) after shooting rounds of 69 (-2) and 75 (+4) Saturday. Rizo-Patron’s 28 pars are tied for second most of any golfer in the field.
Junior Quin Polin and sophomore Carson Baez are among a group of six golfers tied for 50th at 6-over par (148), while junior Parker Moellinger is tied for 66th at 8-over par (150).
Senior Drew Carlin, competing as an individual, is tied for 56th at 7-over par (149).
Sunday’s final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 AM.
