Golf starlet Catherine ‘CJ’ Andino is looking forward to teaming up with “super sweet” Kai Trump at Miami.
Sharing a love for the sport with her grandfather, President Donald Trump, Kai honed her skill on Trump’s empire of courses. The 18-year-old has played on the courses to take advantage of the incredible opportunity to get to grips with the sport as she eyes a long-term career.
Kai has secured a scholarship to play golf for the University of Miami, although she doesn’t begin her scholarship with the Hurricanes until 2026. She has already secured her first NIL deal, joining forces with energy drinks brand Accelerator Active Energy.

With Kai set to join Miami next fall, the Hurricanes have already added another of the game’s most promising young stars to their recruiting class of 2027. Aged just 16, Andino has already established herself with multiple championship titles under her belt and even a course record to her name.
Last month, Andino — a high school sophomore — committed to the University of Miami’s golf program after fielding multiple offers from a host of schools across the country. She is excited about joining Miami and the prospect of playing with Kai, whose presence at the school will bring more attention to the program.
“I think it’s going to be all good things,” Andino told The Daily Mail. “I’ve met her once before, and she’s a super sweet girl, which is most important.
“The kind of person she is, I think, is going to be really good for Miami to have her and to bring attention there. I’m looking forward to it.”

Kai claims to be part of Callaway Next, which is described as “the next generation of Callaway Tour Pros.” It will be interesting and exciting to see how the two starlets play alongside one another.
In 2024, Andino won the First Tee Miami Doral Jr. Classic and the South Florida PGA Jr. Tour titles, as well as the South Bend Regional on Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry’s Underrated Golf Tour.
She has already secured the Florida State Golf Association Jr. Amateur Match Play title this year.
The teenager even boasts the women’s course record at The Park West Palm Beach, Florida, shooting a 62 across the 6,111-yard track.
This is just one off the men’s record held by former Masters champion Adam Scott.
When asked what she considers to be her most significant achievement to date, Andino said: “I would say committing to the University of Miami was definitely big, because it’s something I’ve been working on from a young age.”
