When TaylorMade revived the mini driver in 2023 with the BRNR Mini, it set off a chain reaction that has fundamentally changed the way golfers, from pros to high-handicappers, view the longer end of the back.

Initially presented as a novelty club that leant as much on nostalgia as it did in performance, the mini driver market has grown rapidly in the last two years – these pint-sized rocket ships now widely beloved both for being stylish and incredibly easy to hit off the tee compared to a 3-wood.

As such, plenty of the golf’s biggest equipment manufacturers have entered the category over the last two 18 months, offering up their own spin on the mini driver formula. Some, like TaylorMade, continue to lean into the nostalgia factor, dressing their mini drivers in retro-inspired facades, while others have taken a more modern approach.

Whichever you prefer, there’s no doubt that every golfer should be looking at adding a mini driver into their bag if they’re looking for a reliable, accurate option off the tee.

But what mini driver is best? We’ve tested all the major models released thus far to bring you a collection of our favourites, starting with the very best of the bunch.
