We Played Trump’s New Course | “THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE!”

We are up here at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdine and we are playing the newest golf course in Scotland, the new course. Now we are buzzing to play this. Heard a lot of things about it from a few folk that have played it before us. We’re going to take you from the first tea all around. We’ve got drram in the dunes coming up. The whole place looks incredible. We can’t wait to get started. Should we get going? We Yeah, let’s do it. Let’s do it. [Music] All right. So, we’re just having a we we warm up. We’ve been to the range. We’ve had a bacon roll. We’re on the putting green and we’re about to head up to the first tea. So, just trying to get all the rust off. Ready to go. So, get rid of those first tea nerves. Are you ready, Louis? Ready. The greens are quick, aren’t they? Just deged that one. Yes. From bunkard. Yes, that’s right. Yes. Which you going to play from? We’re going to do blue today. Perfect. You I think you played the old course. I’ve played the old course a couple times. Yeah. There’s an old bunker you’ll pass on 10. The fortifications along the beach, there’s a display inside it from World War II stuff. Oh, how cool. Well, go and have a look at that. First is par five. Yeah, that is a bunker down in the left. The line from up here with a French gentleman played the other day there and he was having a laugh and a joke. He says, “What’s the line?” I said, “I tower.” Yeah. Yeah, I can see it. Yeah. So, that’s your line. Eiffel Tower. Okay. Okay. Yep. You leading us off, James. Going in. Go on. Play well. Could be bunker. That’s over. It Yeah. Go and play from that ball. Should play a scramble though. Yeah. Two man scramble. That sounds good to me. Course record. Right. It’s bouncing. Bouncing. You’re bouncing. Yeah. Blind shot, but you’re you’re on the short stuff, I think. Ah, we’ll take it. It’s going forward. There you go. Thank you very much. Pleasure. A perfect one. Well, maybe I need Bruce to come down and show me the line. We fly off this one. I’ll have a we wonder in a line for you. You’re actually just probably over the edge of the bunker. You’re not that far left. I’ve got a pretty good idea to be fair. Yeah. Oh, I have gone over the bunker. Oh, how how far have we got loose? Searching for gold. You carry on. Risk and reward. You can definitely take some shots on, but you got to be really precise obviously with where you try and put it. Yeah, very good. Nice shot. Oh, little bit of spin ash on that. Did you see that one there? Yeah, I saw it. Point for eagle, baby. Don’t hit it here is my advice. Bruce warned me about the rough. First thing I do, hit it into the rough. The Shot Scope Pro LX Plus is telling me I’ve got 125 yards. Lateral hazard. We going with that, James? Don’t know what the common section is going to be like with that one. No, no, I’m not putting out from my handicap. It’s fine. Just as well and be back to back to the fairway. Hold your head. Ah, it’s a Wait, that’ll be fun from down there. It’s a wee valley. Yeah, I’ve been a child. What are you whispering about? You found anything yet? Yeah, we’re in a rush. Can’t take him anywhere. Sorry. One of I’m not usually one of these people. Can’t say much else about that hole, but it was a good two, so we’re taking it. It’s quite tough though, isn’t it? Actually, cuz it narrows narrows quite a bit. We’re not actually that close to the water, but it feels really lynxy so far, doesn’t it? Yeah. I mean, I know we’re only on the second, but it does we do get closer to the water as, you know, the further we go out, but no, good strike. Hit the pin. Yeah. Jesus. I’ve just buried the second as well. So, of course, record on. Cool. Thanks. Just looking at this green though is like imag like you can see the different pin placements you can have like Yeah. If you put it up top, imagine that back left playing in there. That’s mental. Yeah. Then you could hit it. Like imagine putting up there from here. Yeah. From over there. Get yourself in the wrong the wrong kind of spots on the green. I’m going to be having some seriously tough putts. Feel like a camera doesn’t really do this justice. It doesn’t. You’re right. All right, so first of the par threes. It’s time for a par three challenge. Closest to the pin. 179 y on the third. What a great looking hole. Amazing hole. Something like that. Tell you what, you’re playing good today. Why? Oh, all right. Yeah, nice shot. It’s on the green. Just a little a little short. Fly. That needs to go. Fly. Get your snorkel out, Louis. Oh, lot water in this hole, isn’t there? That wind’s hurting more than I think we anticipated to be honest. But I can’t blame the wind for that one, I’m afraid. Green. Close to the pin. One n to the good guys. Yeah, I’d say that’s pretty clearcut that. Oh, sideways. Tell you what, it’s not a bad pop from there cuz it’s it’s the classic. If you tripped it there, you’d be quite happy. So, it’s not that not that fast. No. No. Practice screens completely pulled my pants down. Oh dear. Didn’t deserve that. That’s a Syan like. Well done. Thanks. Such a [Music] Oh, the traction in these shoes are getting tested. Oh, a hit it way too hard. I was scared. Go on the sprinkler. Doing your best to make it as hard as possible. Yep. But you’re getting your money’s worth. You’re seeing parts of the course some people might not see when they play. Yeah, I would agree with that. [Music] run out. If you do what I do and think you got a score going, you got to be Yeah. You’ve got to back it up, don’t you? Yeah. This is a really tough T- shot cuz you have to really place it. And if you get yourself in the wrong spot Yeah. You make a big number pretty quick. You can Yeah. As I’m finding out, come on. Pretty good spot. God, it feels like an effort to get into the bloody hole. It’s what happens when you phone the pro shop after two holes to find the course record. E phone them twice. That’s a great roll. Moved. Yeah. More to the right than I thought. Oh, I haven’t lost the ball in that hole. So, that’s good. It’s progress. Progress. So, made a double. Right, we’re in the second par three of the day. What hole we on? Seventh. We’re on seven. We made it to the seventh. We’ve lost I’ve lost quite a few. We’ve both lost a few balls. Lost a couple of soldiers on the way. Lost a couple of good men along the way. But quite an interesting hole, actually. Yeah, I like this one. Ah, you waloper. Get up. Don’t be short, he says. Don’t be short. Oh, it’s not. I’m not sure. I’m up there. Up up up the back. It’s on the dance floor somewhere. Just can’t hear the music as they say. Mhm. Oh, be the number. Be the number. Oh, sit now. Could be winning here. Stick it in your bag. That’s how to do it. There you go. All right. So, we’re on 9inth T, which is part of the Southern Dome here at the new course, Trump International. And something interesting in the yardage book here. So, as you can see, this is a pretty dramatic looking hole. But what caught my eye is that side that slope in the side there with the sand. Apparently, that is the president’s bunker. Let’s try and stay out of that, shall we? Looks grim to be in good swing. Right. Was talking about President’s Bunker back in the tea. Couldn’t quite see it from where we were. That uh that might explain what I was talking about. I’m just saying. James, there’s a rake as well. Don’t want to be a caddy raing this. If I throw this up, do you reckon it will roll back down? Oh, yeah. Should we do that? Yeah. Don’t. Oh, no. Come on. Roll. All right. There we go. Right. We’ll take that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, you play a worldy there. Stop. That’s going to be hard to We’ll take that. Yeah. Good for this. I’ve got the the hard bit. Messed up the easy bit of the direction. bite. Oh, somebody’s closer. So, I dragged you over here, loose, because this is a World War II bunker at the side of the Penth Fairway. Oh, yeah. Pretty cool. So, let’s see what we’ve got here. Got the plaque. Here stands an original World War II pill box. One of the bunker fortifications established along Scotland’s east coast. Preserved on our golf course to keep the memory of those tumultuous days alive. Yeah. All right. Made it to the next par three. 12. 136. Seven. Seven. 13. 13 into the wind. Nice little short par three. It’s skinny fly. All right, we’re taking that. Good shot. Stay there. We’ll take that. I’m happy with that. I think you’re closer, but I’m not sure. So, it looks like I’m taking that one. Yeah, I think so. After I paced it out and you’re like, “Yeah, a little closer.” Just a little bit closer. Close. But dollied it. Too much respect. Yeah. Yeah. I needed a decent whack in that. Oh, good effort. Good pot. Thanks. Couple of threes. Bowling those distances pretty solid today. Yeah. Just a shame most of them have been for triple bogey, isn’t it? It’s always a way. It’s always a way. [Music] [Music] We’re on 18 par five. Right on the middle. I’m saying probably just on the chimney stack there on the far right. Well, there’s three there’s three chimneys, so I’m going to go middle chimney. And then if it ends up either either of those three, I’m quite happy. Big Scottish flag on the right there. Love that. Yeah, kind of. Yeah, I’m happy with that, mate. Left side of the fairway. Fairway’s good. Run. Run. Like you stole something. [Music] Oh, did you see that ball just like fell off the tea? Yeah, it was good fun. Enjoyed that. Well done. Oh, what a place. Loved it. What an experience that was, Louis, wasn’t it? Wow. Incredible. All I can say is wow. Pretty spectacular, wasn’t it? I think the the front nine had a little bit of everything. You had some really tough holes where you had to kind of place shots. You had some very generous kind of fairways as well. Got to say the southern dome. So this starts in the 8th T. This is where you go through the dunes. Everything opens up in front of you. You’d have seen that in the video. A incredible stretch of holes. You won’t find a better stretch of holes. You’ll struggle to find a better stretch of holes I should say around there. Just remarkable. The par three, the 12th really stood out to me. And then you get to the 13th, go back the other way. Everything in front of you. Expansive views. Just stunning.
