Playing Chee Chan Golf Resort ⛳ The #1 Luxury Golf Course in Thailand?
In the shadow of the pool carved in stone where the mountain watches silent. Hello and welcome back to Farang Golf. And as you probably already know, this is not part of the series where I play and review all 58 Bangkok courses. We are having a work outing at Bataya. So I thought it was a great chance for me to run off and play Chi and review and check it out for you as well. Chichan is a luxury golf course. So I’m humbled and happy to go and play it and and check it out for you as well. So tag along. Let’s go and start by checking out the facilities and the clubhouse. Chich Gold Resort opened in 2018 and it was designed by David Dale of Golf Plan. Golf Plan has designed plenty of courses around the world including Panahindra here in Thailand and few courses in my home country of Finland as well. The resort sits right next to the famous Kaichan Buddha Mountain which isn’t just a pretty backdrop. It’s a sacred landmark cart into limestone standing over 100 yards tall. You’ll feel its presence throughout your round. As per usual, let’s start the clubhouse and facilities tour by checking out the locker rooms first. Unsurprisingly, the main color at the locker room was brown, but this time they had some nice red and soft cream accent colors to make it little bit different than maybe 95% of the clubhouse locker rooms in Thailand. The locker rooms felt nice, looked nice, and smelled nice as well. Nothing really to complain about. As you can see here, the lockers are exactly what you would expect from a high-end golf course. Okay, maybe it’s losing little bit when it comes to the spa department of Thai Country Club in Bangkok. That is one level above this, but they’ve nailed everything right here. There was a calming atmosphere at the locker rooms, which is really important to me at least. Only minor complaint would have been maybe the floor boards by the walls. They were a little bit worn out and would need a layer of paint, but that’s a minor detail and it comes because of the floor mob. So, all in all, lovely experience at the locker rooms and I especially enjoyed the artwork that was some of the fairways on this course. The clubhouse restaurant is called the view and that is for a reason. The main attraction of the restaurant is obviously the beautiful view overlooking the mountain and the golf course. The food was spoton. This was early morning so they had only limited breakfast menu but I was really pleased with my fried rice and pork. Their coffee was also satisfying and I was pleased with the menu’s offerings. Price-wise, you can expect a little bit higher prices here, but I was pleased it wasn’t over-the-top expensive. They do offer outdoor seating area as well for those brave souls enjoying the heat. Overall, really solid performance by the restaurant and I think they do gater for non-players as well since the food was really good. The pro shop is exactly as you would expect from a luxury golf course. The selection is extensive and I’m pleased whenever I see that different brands have different small sections in the store. It just makes it look nicer and cleaner. They do offer nice rental club selection at the pro shop with the Telmates M4s being the cheaper option and they go for 1,500 per round and then the Q10s they go for 2,000. It’s not the worst price I’ve seen on this luxury golf courses. So, you’re going to be just fine if you need to play a round of golf here with the M4s in my opinion. Chichon Golf Resort offers annual memberships for 200,000. The price goes a little bit down if you take multiple memberships. But that means that you don’t pay for the green fee, only caddy and cart when you come and play here. And then you get discount for your guests as well, plus some oncourse discounts at the restaurant and the pro shop. They do have cheaper 29,000 B annual membership card as well that offers discounted cream fees. But if you’re interested in the memberships, I suggest you contact Chichan Golf Resort for further details. Then unlike usually I had time to go and hit few balls before starting my round at the practice range. It is a beautiful driving range overlooking the mountain and even the driving range grass doesn’t really matter. It was in top condition. My only complaint would be regarding the turf. It wasn’t real grass turf where you go and hit the balls but a traditional driving range mat. I was also approached by one of the staffs here at the driving range and they are planning on purchasing Garmin simulators to the course to help you out with your practice sessions and they needed some test dummies to try them out. So I got advantage now when we go and play the round since I played the first hole of the Chichan golf course with the help of the simulator. Then we are all set and ready to head out to the course. And before we jump there, I would love to briefly mention and invite you to varangol social scramble event taking place on the 21st of February next year. The pre-registration is open now at farangolf.com. So be quick and go and grab your spot to the event. There’s only 40 spots available and I think at the time of editing this video, there’s 15 gone already. The venue will be announced later together with the pricing and further details. But one thing I can promise you already is the fact that it’s going to be a day filled with fun golf caddies and beer. And I would love to see as many of you as possible. So go and check out farangolf.com to pre-register and secure your spot in the event. Then let’s talk about the course. It was as mentioned designed by David Dale and it’s a long one playing over 7,300 yards from the tips and we were playing white te’s on this day and those were 6 and a half thousand in yards. It’s a unulating course with breathtaking views of the Chichan mountain Buddha and you can see on some holes the skyline of Pataya beach which is quite beautiful as well. The course is long and difficult. I think I got three strokes and Timo maybe four strokes to his handicap on this day. So it is demanding course and even though the fairways have been cut and maintained some time ago, they were in perfect condition in my opinion. This only begs for me to return to the course in couple months time when the fairways grow back to their normal length. But it is amazing to play on a course this level when everything is absolutely spot-on and you don’t need to worry about landing your ball in a divot or the bunker being uneven and giving you trouble getting out. I have played here one time before that was maybe three and a half four years ago when we started golfing together with Teimmo and it was nice for us to be able to return to the course and check it out now when we play little bit better golf and can enjoy the round bit more. I have already mentioned it in some of my older videos that this is one of my top three courses in Thailand. And I would have to say that it’s probably my top one at the moment. The facilities are lacking maybe just a little bit comparing to the other top courses. But the course itself is so beautiful and so well-maintained that it is my favorite course in Thailand at the moment at least. Unfortunately, nothing this nice comes for free. It is a five-star luxury golf course and the pricing goes according to that. The cheapest I’ve seen green caddy and cart go for here is early morning weekdays during the low season and it’s 4,600 and you get a 300 bud voucher to the view restaurant. But I’d say that during the high season and during the weekends the prices crawl up all the way to 6 and a half thousand for green fee caddy and cart. Normal weekday price being I guess five and a half thousand for green fee caddy and card. It is a tough price to pay for a golf when you have other courses that go for 1,000 bot for green caddy and cart but you get much more than those courses offer. So I don’t feel bad paying that price. Obviously I’m not loaded enough to come and play this course often but every once in a while it is a treat to be had. I’m pretty sure that some of you are already typing on your keyboards that this is outrageous price in Thailand for golf and I respect your opinion but this course is exception in my opinion in that sense that I would pay the 5,000 or roughly 6,000 more often if I just could afford it. It is worth the money. So come and check it out yourself and don’t skip it just because it’s pricier than the other courses around. Regarding the foreigner friendliness of Chichang Golf Resort, I have zero complaints. They don’t have dual pricing and everybody on the course speaks English, at least to my knowledge. Their website and Facebook pages are in English and tea time bookings are really easy to do. Just use in English. So, huge thanks to Chich Resort for being such a foreigner friendly course. Caddy interview. Caddy interview. Caddy. Caddy Caddy Caddy interview. Hello. Caddy interview. What is your name? Nanny. Nanny. Miss Nanny. How how old are you? I’m 25. 25 years young. And how long you work as a caddy? Two years. Two years. So not so not so long yet. And what is the biggest tip you ever get? Oh, 30,000. B. That’s insane. Who keeps so much money? Do you play golf? Um, I’m fair beginner. No. Okay. Just beginner but sometimes. Okay. Thank you. Let’s go and win golf. Yes. Bye-bye. Then regarding the caddy situation at the Chi Chan Golf Resort, I’m 100% sure that they have only really great caddies here at the Chi Chan. We had great caddies as you see from the interview already. Although they are making two big tips here in my opinion, but I’m 100% sure I said that they have only great caddies here. It’s a luxury golf course, so the requirements are high and they are well trained and mannered and you can see that already when you come and meet your caddy, the way they greet you, how they signal with their hands when they are driving the car to make sure that everybody is safe and so on. I’m pretty sure that they will also accommodate you with the English speaking caddy if you so request upon booking your tea time. Another option would be my recommended option, Golfland application. The Golfland application lets you pre-book your caddies on most Thailand golf courses. And on top of seeing the caddies pictures, their deep requirements, other players reviews, you also get to see their language proficiencies. So if you need a English-sp speakaking caddy or whatever language you happen to speak and the caddy does provide services in that language that will be presented in the app as well. So go to forangol.com and check out the link for Goland application and start browsing your dream Gary for your dream route of golf here in Thailand. I’m also happy to announce that Goland application will be one of the sponsors for the Barangul Social Scramble together with Bangkok Vodka. So, I got all your basic needs covered with our two first sponsors. Go and pre-register for the event at varangol.com to secure your spot. Then, it’s good time to start wrapping this video up. I really enjoy playing at Chi Chan. Every time I get to go there, this was the second time and there was three years between the rounds. But I do enjoy it and I think that it’s the best golf course in Thailand, at least at the moment. I also did have one of my better days again on this day. Lately, I’ve been enjoying golf and I played my front nine here, 41 strokes, which is on the upper limit of my skill level. The course is beautiful. The caddies are talented, the restaurant is topnotch, and the course facilities match everything else. I don’t know how much more you could ask for. Obviously, the price is high, but you get what you pay for, and that is especially true here at the Chich John. So come and check out the course and enjoy a round of golf paradise here under the Chichin mountain. Then one more thing before I reveal where we’re going to play in the next video. I get lots of questions regarding tea time bookings and transports and so on. So I’ve decided to help you guys out. So if you are in need of tea times hotels or transportation while you are here in Thailand, go to farangul.com and you can reach out to me there and I will help you out with your travel plans and bookings so that you can concentrate solely on enjoying the game. Then finally, I thank you for watching this far. Leave a like to this video. Comment below how you feel about Chi Chan and remember to subscribe to the channel if you haven’t yet done so. In the next episode, we’re going to be playing Siam Country Club Wateride in Pataya. It’s a super luxury golf course, and I can’t wait to go and see how it compares to Chi Chan. So, see you in the next

Chee Chan is known as a five-star luxury golf course, and in this video I’ll take you through the clubhouse, facilities, restaurant, practice range, course conditions, pricing, caddy experience, and memberships—giving you an honest review of what it’s like to play here as a foreign golfer.

Good timing of vid..Im awaiting a booking confirmation for here on 26 January 2026 a part of my return to Pattaya.
Fabulous looking course – I must try this later this month when a friend of mine visits from o/s for 2 weeks of golf.
I'm sure I mentioned the caddy tip on the previous video however this one just blew me away $30,000???
You must of felt a little pressure when it was tip time hey? 😀
Your game is looking good again – keep up the form to finish of the series strong. Look forward to the upcoming course reviews.
Extra sponsor for the event….. a specialised "rubber company"??? 🎉😂
It's a lovely course
Wish a few of the trees around there would grow
I would rate Ban Rakat to be in better condition though this isn't far away
At 5000-6000 baht yes it's an expensive day out but compared to the Siam courses in Bangkok it is actually a little cheaper
Hi,
whoooaa ! am now 100% sure caddies in Thailand are watching "Farang Golf" coz caddie tips have been skyrocketing lately🤣😂.
Good vlog and loved this course, everything looks great and adding to my bucket list ! Till next one….Happy Golfing !
Give Nanny that 30,000 Baht tip !
wadee na Harri, Chee Chan look stunning, i will put CC on my bucket list, kiitos for the video & tour, glad you played the front nine well 👍👌🙏🙏🙏
what else did he get for his 30k tip…
Really liked the undulations, raised greens are the restrained use of water hazards. Beautiful course
Great course!!!!
Is there a way to register to golf land without Thai number? Got 2 rounds booked in Bangkok in November
Hi, I'm here in Australia and thoroughly enjoying all your videos. Tell me, do the caddies get paid a basic wage by the clubs or are they reliant on tips only ? Keep up the great series.
Who does their video narration with AI using a Philippines accent, and why?
Perfect timing! My trip is in 1 month, this is forsure on the itinerary Kaup
Chee Chan isn't even close to the best in Thailand. For what you get, it's way too expensive, not many hazards, too wide open and when I played, the greens were slow and inconsistent. To me, playing the A and C course at Laem Chabang was way better, Jack calls it his pearl of the orient, which I agree. Even Burapha A&B is way better than Chee Chan, Pheonix Gold is very good as well. Living in the Pattaya area for 20 months, I didn't see Chee Chan as worth the price, even with my discounts. If you want to spend that kind of money, go play Siam C. C.
I player this course 2 Times 👍👍
I played Chee Chun two weeks ago. We had the best day. Millionaires golf as we were nearly the only group on course. Agree with everything mentioned in the video, the caddies, food but more importantly the course is worth every Baht! It is my favourite course in Thailand, although I’m yet to play in Hua HIN… that’s the next trip!
That course looks very nice indeed! Nice scenery.
