In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Emirates Golf Club hosted its annual Ladies Pink Day Competition on Tuesday, 14 October. The event, played in an Irish Rumble format, brought together 80 enthusiastic ladies for a morning of golf on the Majlis Course with the players dressing in shades of pink to honour the message of awareness and solidarity.
The team of Arathi Appaiah, Nicsha Rodriguez, Nonita Chand, and Genie Owiti emerged as overall winners with an impressive 84 points, secured on a back-nine countback.
Nicsha set the pace on the inward half with two back-to-back net birdies on holes 13 and 14. The team produced 54 points on the back nine, finishing strongly with three pars and a bogey to collect a combined seven points on the 18th hole.
Just behind was the team of Roma Khanna, Shiba Wahid, Apoorva Gandhi, and Elvira Smith, who claimed the runners-up spot, also with 84 points. Elvira set the tone early, opening with three consecutive net birdies on holes 1, 2, and 3, helping the team to 31 points on the front nine.
In third place were Ninu Smith, Renata Lichtenecker, Sabine Choudry, and Haide Wright, who posted a commendable 80 points. The team enjoyed a strong back nine, scoring 55 points, with Haide contributing two consecutive net birdies on holes 11 and 12.

Lady Captain Sonal Gandhi shared her thoughts on the day: “Pink Day is always one of the most meaningful events on our calendar. It’s about more than just golf; it’s about coming together as a community to support awareness, strength, and hope.
“Seeing everyone in pink, playing with joy and compassion, truly highlights the power of sport to unite us for a cause that matters.”
