Classico is in. They’re all in line. They’re off. Brandt started very well. So too stablemate Balboa and so did Civil Liberty who’s the quickest of the three. And Civil Liberty takes the early lead. AP again came out running in fourth position in behind them. After that it’s El Rankin followed by Conducted on the outside. And then comes here’s some more. Intrepido is second last up the backstretch and Classico is the trailer moving for the far turn where it is Civil Liberty and Balboa. The two of them together through a flashy opening/4er mile in 21.56 seconds. And Brandt is getting closer now to them in third, a length and a half off the lead. After that, it’s El Rankin and Conducted on the outside. Coming to the top of the stretch, Civil Liberty. Here’s Brandt making his move on the outside. And Balboa is back running in third as Brandt takes command at the eighth pole. Brandt to the front opening up from Civil Liberty. Balboa is third, but it is all Brandt. He looks like a million bucks. Times three. Brandt by five. Then Civil Liberty, Balboa, and Intrepid.

Looked like he needed an extra furlong, seemed street wise. Little signs of greenness but couldn’t really go the early pace. Balboa might be one to take out of this race if they can get him to settle. How deep the race is- thats open to debate. Wins very easily in the end though the jockey had to get a bit serious with him to come and win the race. 3 million is a staggering amount, but I guess they don’t seriously expect to get that back. Crazy price tag, early days for him, could be ordinary or could be a world beater. Congratulations to the winners team

I imagine Brant will be at the Breeders Cups for the premiere 2 year old race. So much can happen between now and then let alone between now and the Kentucky Derby The entire planet essentially could have a 2 year old that will be ascending by next May.

3 milli is nothing for wealthy owners and if this horse is successful he'll be worth far more on the back end breeding.
Brant produced the day's highest figure among maiden winners with a 124 HRN speed figure at Del Mar. The Beyer fig was 101!!!!! Holy cow

His Beyer was supposedly 101, he beat the 2nd horse by 5 lengths so that horses Beyer was 96 or so? GTFOH…Baffert will keep blowing him out in 1:10 every 7 days until he injures himself(Nysos) and then he'll go on the shelf.

Al of these beautiful horses are on painkillers, steroids, etc. They are lucky if they live to a natural age, don't have good quality of life, and many end up being slaughtered alive. Horse racing is a gruesome, greedy, and brutal abuse of incredibly stoic and loving individuals for money. It's Barbaric.
